Yeah. I just hope the other stuff I have pending goes through. :?
|
It's your discretion, of course, if you want to get involved in this. But as it's something that matters to me, I thought I would share:
MoveOn.org Political Action: Save NPR and PBS (Again) It's a petition that opposes the proposed funding cuts to PBS and NPR (two of my favourite things  ) |
Why... do they keep doing that? D=
I'm sure the Republicans would throw a fit if we cut their funding. |
They do love their earmarks...
|
SOmetimes I think that my hate for the far-right is a little unjust...
|
But then they go and reaffirm that distrust?
|
Well... yes. Also, as a second-class citizen, I am well within my personal rights to be full of rage.
|
Rage on all you like. My thread is progressive, dammit.
|
REVOLUTION! -fist pump- DDDD<
I will go take this out on some unsuspecting teenager at work. xD |
I'd love some feedback for the update on the first page :3
|
Looks nice! I'm glad you found something you liked on that site. :D
|
Yeah. I actually have that issue too now :D
|
Hooray for converting you, if temporarily!
|
It was, as predicted, my mum who actually bought it. But I am enjoying it!

Thoughtful Afterthoughts Yet another project of sentiment that can be aimed at your beloved is poesy making. While choosing flowers for their beauty is an option, a fancier one would be to utilize the centuries old Language of Flowers, where a plethora of plants have detailed and specific meanings. Here are a few to start you off with:
The vast language of flowers could fill a book, and indeed, many stunning old compendiums exist. But in this day and age, the internet has also taken up the task. You will be able to find many more meanings than I provided here. -------- And for the jaded, disgruntled, or just plain left out... For me, Valentine's Day has never been solely about romantic love. It's about love in all it's myriad forms. That may be little consolation though... This is very affirming. One would venture to even say life affirming. |
How To Be Alone is one of my favorite videos ever... It makes me both sad and hopeful.

ooo... the language of flowers...
Too bad Liz hates roses. >> Loves Gerber daisies, though. ^^ |
I happen to have a lovely and lovingly worn book from 1852 on the subject, so if there is any particular sentiment you would like to have looked up, I can give it a go.
|
Is there one for "I think you have the world's loveliest breasts, and you make me feel stupid in a good way?"
|
I will check...
The pineapple is used to express the sentiment "you are perfect". Vines symbolize intoxication. Which kind of goes along with the pleasant stupidity angle. |
FANTASTIC! Pineapples on a vine.
I'm off to the produce section. Also this: http://theoatmeal.com/blog/valentine...ce=General+Use |
I like the idea behind quirkyalone-ism
|
I like that concept. =O
That... pretty much described me about five years ago. xD And now... I'm off to work! |
Have fun at work?
Yes, I'm thinking I would like to read her book. |
