Ah, yes. I do that too. "I'm waiting for my ride" vs. "I'm waiting for my mommy to take me home."

HIM_ROCK 01-13-2013 08:47 PM

Sup' mah beetches ?

Cardinal Biggles 01-15-2013 12:36 AM

Just, drudge and confusion. Being an adult, whaa.
I keep meaning to make a "glad you guys survived the apocalypse" post in here, but I keep forgetting.

Cherry Who? 01-15-2013 07:38 AM

I, meanwhile, keep on trucking.

HIM_ROCK 01-15-2013 09:54 PM

Who said HIM survived the apocoplyse ?

Cardinal Biggles 01-16-2013 02:18 AM

Yo momma.

Cherry Who? 01-16-2013 09:15 AM

This conversation really lives up to this thread's theme.

HIM_ROCK 01-16-2013 11:02 AM

That it does

I think I'm adult. I don't know...I'll tell you once I hit 30 this year. xD

But much drudge and confusion here. Just taking things one day at a time as you don't know what's going to happen next. Not overly fond of feeling this way. It is what it is, though.

Cardinal Biggles 01-17-2013 08:54 AM

Hi Izumi! Nice to see you!

I take one day at at time, it's just difficult when there isn't enough going on in those days.

---

Okay! So you might remember the little questionnaire about what you all would collect, and now I have something new to add to the list : French ex voto! The texture and the style of the pieces really appeal to me.

Izumi 01-18-2013 04:09 AM

Thanks, Biggles! :) I've been stalking for awhile, waiting for a moment to jump in.

That's kind of the same here. Behind on bills (what's new heh), and just kinda working every day. The weekends are nice but pretty boring.

That being said, my husband made a major splurge and bought tickets for the play! performance in Grand Rapids. We ended up dropping $120 for tickets alone. He knows things are tight, but he has been wanting to go to Uematsu's Distant Worlds but the closest they came was Chicago, and tickets were like $80 a piece. He has listened to play! performances and really enjoyed them, and when he saw they were coming so close he about crapped his pants. I told him we will have to penny pinch for awhile to make up for it. :o

Cherry Who? 01-18-2013 09:28 AM

Those are very pretty, Biggles! Do you have any pieces yet yourself, or are you just wishing to start a collection?

I've taken back up collecting polished rocks. I used to be quite into rocks, but then got bored of them and stuffed them in some boxes. But the past year plus I've been getting very into nature-related things, so I dug out my prettiest quartzes and such and have put them back on display. I wanted to buy some more the last time I was at my local magick-y type shop, but they didn't have any that particularly appealed to me, especially at the price they charged per stone. But I have a sizeable collection already, so it's quite alright. I'm currently looking for a small, dark, wooden bowl to better display them in.

Cardinal Biggles 01-18-2013 09:36 AM

Izumi: Personally, aside from basics, I think money is better spent on experiences than objects. So I can't help but think your husband had the right idea.

Cherry: No, it's just something I'd like to collect. And my imagination running away with me like it does, I think you could make a really cool wall with like, a large print of Gabriel von Max's Der Anatom, next to two or three vertical rows of the body votives, held up by nails. But I also want some of the idol crowns.

Also, I like rocks, can't help but comb over them when I go to one of our beaches. I've bought some too, of course. When I took that picture of the orange peel sign, were any of my rocks in it?

Cherry Who? 01-18-2013 09:55 AM

That sounds like it would be lovely!

Ah, found rocks are of course the best. It's easier to remember their natural roots when you plucked them from nature yourself! I'd really love to visit a beach someday, just for combing. As for the picture, I'm afraid I don't recall if any rocks were in it, sorry!

Okay, so I was just going through some of the older pages on a whim to see how we have progressed (me used talk more better then), and I found this. NOW, if I remember the dream correctly, I think Sherlock Holmes' business cards were involved. Guess what? When I went to the Sherlock Holmes museum shop on Baker Street, they gave me a faux Sherlock Holmes, Consulting Detective business card with my purchase. Dreams. Really do come true.

Edit: The quoted text was about a dream... about business cards.
Edit2: Oh, okay, I'll have to take a look and see if I have any rock pictures.

Cherry Who? 01-18-2013 07:39 PM

Ooh, eerie! But neat, considering that it's a good thing that came true.

Cardinal Biggles 01-19-2013 12:42 AM

I don't mind eerie, and I certainly like neat.
You know, looking back through the pages, we've had a lot of good conversations in here. Makes me proud.
Plus we're so cute!
I must say, though, I did forget Stephen Fry was our celebrity spokesperson [sweat]

Speaking about things that have appeared in these pages, I found out a few days ago that the blog/magazine http://www.coilhouse.net is closing down. This is a blow to me, because it really was a free spirited, unique place that exposed me to a lot of intriguing things.

Cherry Who? 01-19-2013 02:12 AM

That's a shame. [:(] It's so hard for little ventures like that to get going and keep going now. At least they're not killing the name entirely and might do something else down the line.

Cardinal Biggles 01-20-2013 07:17 AM

Hey guys! What's fancy with you? I was wanting to edit the Topical section on the first page, what do you think I should put in there? Should we change out the current title as well?

Cherry Who? 01-20-2013 07:26 AM

Hmmm... Art, photography, literature, philosophy, history, writing, journaling, learning, design, style (as in clothing, but not to be confused with fashion). Anything that you feel expands your mind.

Izumi 01-20-2013 09:27 PM

Yes I'm in agreement and I'm super stoked to go. :D It gives me something to look forward to and breaks up this horrible monotony....

I'm just wondering what will be the next thing to plan once its done so that I have something else to look forward to. I guess valentines day, not that we ever really do anything then.

Also, I'm kicking around the idea of starting a thread for myself. More like an interactive journal where I can do some random ranting on stuff that pops into my head. Not necessarily a 'rant' but I get on some really weird tangents. While writing them down in a journal does feel therapeutic, it would be nice to be able to talk to other people about it AND make a little coinage on the side for Menewshan pixel goodness. <3

Cardinal Biggles 01-21-2013 01:13 AM

I did a Valentine's post two years ago? Lived up to the fancy hype, I thought. The only thing I can think of right now is a " win a date with Stephen Fry" 'contest'. Or it's still January, maybe a "what are you looking forward to this year?" post.

Cardinal Biggles 01-24-2013 01:45 AM

I've got some article stuff I want to share, but I'll have to find it first.
In the meantime, there's this:

Cardinal Biggles 02-12-2013 02:51 AM

Et voila:
Who Is Your Golden Girls Valentine?

Cherry Who? 02-12-2013 04:36 AM

I should watch that show eventually, shouldn't I?
