Whisper sweet nothings into the ferns' ear.
|
They do say talking to plants makes a difference...
|
Yup, and it's not just the carbon dioxide, either.
|
I need to start talking to my violet, it seems unhappy.
Okay guys, so this appeared on my tumblr dash the other day and of course I want in on it. But I can't figure out what I want it to say. I need an ancillary brain working on it. Help? Beware of the Leopard |
Oh my gah, this is amazing! [drool] I'm going to put on mine a phrase I'm considering getting tattooed someday. Bit of a life motto. Stolen from a disco song. Whatevs.
Uh, I would say something that has great personal significance to you. Not knowing what has great personal significance to you, I can't be more specific. But maybe a motto, a reminder, something someone said to you, a short quote that has impacted you... Or maybe the name of a place you love? Like your hometown, your favorite city in England, etc. |
What was that other tattoo you thought of getting... the no fear one?
I mean, there have a been a few phrases I have liked over the years, but am unsure whether they would work in that context, and with the space limitations. |
Okay, you officially remember things about me better than I do. нет страха, "No Fear."
Yeah, definitely needs to be something short and sweet. |
I just can't find any inspiration.
|
Hmm... I don't know what the character limit is, but here are a few short phrases which come to mind...
"Be The Change" "Cultured Cool" "I'm A Bracelet" "Google Sucks" "Circular Logic" "Veggies Rule" "Smart Chick" "FGSFDS" "Read A Book" I don't know if any of these are to your liking, but they're the best I could do on short notice... |
Haha, circular logic is pretty good!
|
Especially on a bracelet, right?
XD I'd probably pick something descriptive, like "Adornment" or something, because I'm silly that way. XD |
Ceci n'est pas une bracelet (which is apparently already a french word???)
|
Still trying to figure it out. Maybe I'll take something from a poem.
I thought I'd share this new volvo commercial. It was filmed where I live. |
Aw, the plugin is broken, I need to upgrade it, I think...
*will watch it when that's fixed* It's only affecting Youtube videos, I wonder what's wrong with it? |
A shockware problem, you mean? I find that because youtube is the biggest drain, it tends to nix those first.
|
Youtube runs with Flash. Usually if I have a problem with it, I just restart my computer (or close and open the laptop) and everything's peachy dandy.
That's not an expression but I'm going to use it like one. |
Yeah, I'm using some sort of Linux, because of Ermahgerd, and I don't think Youtube works on it...
I'd turn it all off and start up Windows, but I don't know if it would ruin anything to do that... She's been working on something... and I don't know how this stuff works... I just write and browse a lot... <_<; Hell with it. *uses the video download button on it, sees what that does* |
Restarting the browser could work just fine too.
|
Yeah, that's not going to do it, apparently it just affects Youtube videos and it's "just this distro."
But apparently it's okay to shut this down and get on Windows, so that's what I'm going to do. Seems the Linux thing has the server thing which is where she makes things, and Windows doesn't have it and she hates Windows. *is horribly confused* Anyway, I'll be back in a few minutes... if this works. Well, having watched it now, I can only say that I hope the poor girl at least remembers to use the rear-view mirror now and then... Sometimes you're supposed to look back, if only for a moment. XD |
I thought Ermahgerd was your mule?
|
I thought so too.
I think I've decided. It's probably going to be Columbae Livia, which is the latin name for rock doves, aka pigeons :3 |
Why didn't I think of that!
|
Okay, I fell down a victorian word hole and I think you should have this:
56 Delightful Victorian Slang Terms You Should Be Using | Mental Floss BAGS O' MYSTERY. Interestingly, "Gas Pipes" is more or less still in use. Only now it's "Drain Pipes" |

Hey guys, so I've been thinking a lot about Scandinavian style lately - not sure why, though probably watching Wallander on Netflix isn't helping. But as I was waiting in a checkout line at the market, I was leafing through a magazine that had a Swedish Farmhouse in it, so I bought it. And it's rad. But there was something else in there that caught my eye and that I want to do for Autumnal decor. I thought I might as well share it with you too :D
It's just a small take on a floral/plant arrangement for a sidebar, utilizing a glass jug, some poppy pods, pheasant feathers, and delicate, twiggy branches that still have a few leaves clinging to them. I couldn't find any photographs of it, but these are kind of close as far as sensibility: https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...3FyfhiEnsb1WiW http://media-cache-cd0.pinimg.com/23...38f88b963a.jpg Anyway, take one of these, which you can probably find at any flea market or second hand store: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-e_fcsauxxz...0/IMG_6898.jpg Take, say, two of these (which you might be able to get at a craft store or even the floral department of a supermarket) http://continentalfeathers.com/image...l-feathers.JPG And a handful of these (three? four?) (again, craft store or floral department) http://ind.ccio.co/OD/uC/K3/28604901...9GIrMZv2Gc.jpg And scavenge one or two of these: http://images.forwallpaper.com/files...ves-yellow.jpg and arrange them as you will. You probably could come up with this yourself [lol] But I thought it was neat. |
