glad things are looking good for you!

OfeliaLaroose 08-29-2012 02:28 AM

I'm from canada, Drop Bear! :D

Drop Bear 08-29-2012 02:27 PM

Ahh cool, where abouts in Canadia Land are you from? I hear that the east coast is mighty fecking cold?

And cheers Hummy! Its looking positive, but nothing for certain yet either, its just a possibility at this stage.

I went back to see him today and he said he was going to see his accountant and stuff that afternoon, so im hoping thats a positive sign that hes looking into things. He said he's heard a lot of people say theyre keen before, and was actually surprised that i showed up again after the initial chat, apparently most dont? I think im making pretty good impressions thus far!

Woodlandnymph 08-31-2012 12:27 AM

Speaking of cold! I can't believe it's August still. So mild! What the fudge-y hot sundae!

Drop Bear 08-31-2012 07:04 AM

BadJelly Sundae had nothing to do with your weather Woody! [:P]

Also, its JUST starting to get nice sorta weather here actually. As in not too hot, and not freezing the balls of my brass monkey anymore sorta cold! [lol]

hummy 08-31-2012 07:06 AM

good impressions hopefully get you far.

Ling 08-31-2012 11:10 AM

It's still pretty cold here considering it's almost September.

Woodlandnymph 08-31-2012 06:55 PM

We all know "cold" for your area is like 60 degrees >.<

That's GLORIOUS weather, lol. Perfect for hiking and fun stuffs. It's back up in the 80s today here...which isn't bad, since it's not humid or anything.

Ling 09-02-2012 06:18 AM

LOL, I'm really bad at remembering how to convert celsius to fahrenheit and vice versa so I had to user an online converter. 60 degrees is about 15 degrees celsius, which is cold but not overly cold for where I live. Cold days can be as cold as 10 degrees and cold nights have been as cold as 4.

Drop Bear 09-03-2012 03:40 AM

We've had a few 0*C nights here, but further inland where my mates went to hang with some other friends for a weekend (about 5hrs away from here) it was apparently -7*C and my mate is planning to go back this weekend, and its predicted to be -9*C [lol]

Ling 09-04-2012 12:47 PM

yeh, it's been -2 here in the past, but just didn't happen this year for whatever reason. -9 is very cold.

Drop Bear 09-05-2012 07:52 AM

-9*C (15.8*F) is pretty freaking cold, yes! Thats thermals weather right there. Particularly thermal undies i think! [lol]

Im planning a trip to Melbourne with the missus next month for her friends wedding. Going to (hopefully) catch up with a friend down there too and spend a night roaming about. Going to be a little pricey though because of the dicking around we have to do for the wedding. Its in one location, supposed to be staying in another location, and then a couple of hours away and theres busses involved and shit and its just going to be a pain in the ass with how its been organised, so we're doing our own thing.

Woodlandnymph 09-05-2012 08:24 PM

Ok 15 degrees F. is pretty cold, I'll give you that. I think the worst temps I've encountered living in Vermont were like -10 to -15 (-26C) with a wind chill in the -20s and -30s. We had one SERIOUSLY horridly bitter winter. And, the city I lived in was on a hill, at the edge of a valley with the Green Mountains behind us and Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains in front of us...... But that is super extreme.... I guess the average winter temps around me now would be hovering near 0 C and lower.

picture of the pretty street Church Street where I was talking about in some fun snow.
But they have a really cool ice sculpture festival!

Ling 09-06-2012 11:23 AM

That's a pretty scenic picture but I'm not sure I'd want to live there.

Woodlandnymph 09-07-2012 05:32 AM

It was fun to walk on Church Street, a pedestrian only street with shops and restaurants, in the winter. Very pretty! Full of lights and the smell of...roasting coffee beans, oddly enough. There were a lot of coffee shops that roasted their own there

Drop Bear 09-07-2012 01:14 PM

Man, my brass monkey started shivering just LOOKING at that much snow!
Doesnt help im actually sitting here topless right now and theres a small breeze giving me a chill i guess lol!

Also, -26*C is FREAKING INSANE! I dont think i know of a place here thats had temps that low, but i dont discount its entirely possible in the south of Victoria or Tassie even. Brass Monkey just booked flights to Hawaii to avoid any future problems with temps like that lol!

Its actually been rather windy here the last couple of days too. Not cold or hot exactly, just windy!

I was supposed to talk to that bloke about the job this week, i tried to call a couple of times, but couldnt get hold of him, and ive been working heaps this week and havent had a chance to see him either.

Woodlandnymph 09-07-2012 07:18 PM

-26 is insane. I'm glad that was not the norm...but the wind always played a factor there >< So it always felt colder. I bought a special super poofy down coat just for walking to class.

Annnnd put some clothes on [illgetu] you're blinding us all! ;)

Man, I wanna go to Hawaii just to see the volcanoes >.<

I had job issues too! I was stood up accidentally when I was supposed to meet this woman for nannying. She emailed me like, an hour before and said there was a family emergency. Yah, stinks that I didn't see that

Drop Bear 09-08-2012 07:12 AM

Ill talk to old mate on monday hopefully. If not, hopefully my paints and clays turn up and ill be able to get my art on!

Also Woodlandnymph: I'll be sorting out that little thing i was talking to you about a couple of weeks ago and getting that ball in motion if I can. Will let you know once its all underway.

Off to hob-nob with some local politician types tonight too. Friends of the missus are running for local mayor here and they want to meet me apparently. Shall be an interesting night, hopefully i dont make too big a dick of myself lol!

Woodlandnymph 09-10-2012 12:03 AM

Cool! I am all set for that, just let me know when you place the order and all that jaaaaazz

Eh, I don't think you'll make TOO much of an arse out of yourself ;)

Drop Bear 09-10-2012 08:38 AM

I think i did alright actually with meeting them. Theyre really nice people from what ive seen.

Woodlandnymph 09-11-2012 11:59 PM

:D Nice

You seem like the person who would get along with lots of different types

Drop Bear 09-12-2012 02:44 AM

I can but try. If they dont like me, their problem. :P

Woodlandnymph 09-12-2012 03:33 AM

*nod* I feel that way too. If they don't like me, they're missing out

Drop Bear 09-12-2012 05:19 AM

Kinda like sex! :P

Woodlandnymph 09-12-2012 05:36 AM

Juuuuuuuuuuust like it. Hahaha. >.<
