Lol. Dare you to look up the song. There is a naruto amv of it that's obscenely cute. lol.
I think I dare not look it up
Aww. You would find it amusing. lol.
What song are you guys talking about?
And I'm assuming you guys can see the difference in my avvie. |
ok I might go watch it but when I feel better
It's really short. It wont take up much time. To be honest it kinda grated on me, but I don't like high pitched fake children's voices. I can see where other people would find it very cute though, and the lyric to clip match up is quite amusing ^_^
guh I have now added a new layer of nastiness to my illness
I managed to spend the whole day outside in the sun. o_o
My pasty white nerd skin protested. |
Yay sunshine! Us nocturnals need to revel in it every now and again
True.
Though...I got a rather nasty sunburn a couple years ago. And it was caused by my own stupidity too--didn't put any sunblock on. |
meh. Sunburns are really no big deal. Everyone says they'll give you skin cancer, but they're no worse than a scrape, zit or bug bite on that front.
I hate when I get sunburns cause they always blister. I wish the sun would have stayed for more then a few hours today
According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, five or more serious sunburns can double the chances of a person developing melanoma.
Source: The Skin Cancer Foundation - Facts about Sunburn and Skin Cancer | sunburn Additionally, because of my family's medical history, I am at risk for skin cancer. So, as a result, I am encouraged to seek precautions when I can. I avoid sunburns whenever possible. |
I just avoid them cause they hurt hella bad :-P also, I'm a ginger, so, they seek me out extra hard. Regardless, I don't blame you for avoiding them, they just suck all around. Then that god awful itchy peeling after they start to heal... yick... makes me feel like a snake
It just makes me feel miserable. I'm prone to sun poisoning. I may not be a ginger, but... I'm german/french/brit enough for this to be a serious problem. >___>
Cancer in the skin is caused by anything which causes swelling in the skin. Sunburns, pimples, cuts and scrapes etc. And their study found correlation, not causation. It's meant to sell sunblock.
And while that may be true, sunblock is still a preventative measure. Skin conditions are hard to control, and acne can occur in adults. Cuts and scrapes are going to happen no matter how careful you are. If I can rule out one factor, then I am going to do it.
Additionally, as I stated earlier, I am prone to sun poisoning. That is one thing that is definitely prevented by sunblock, even if your statement on skin cancer is true. |
sunpoisoning is a sunburn that happens within fifteen minutes of sun exposure. I'm not saying sunburns aren't a bad thing, I'm saying they don't "cause" skin cancer like people say they do. Going outside is good for you. It's the only way to get vitamin D. Without vitamin D you die.
And I go outside. But I also wear sunscreen to avoid damaging my skin and to keep me from getting sick. I'm confused, again, where the argument is here.
There wasn't one. lol.
I was just meaning to say that a sunburn is not a death sentence. I get them all the time. I have had serious ones too. The real trick to avoiding cancer with my kind of skin is to get any new mole that looks funny checked. It sounds like you have really fair skin huh? |
It just seemed kind of odd because you mentioned a statement on skin cancer completely unprompted. o_o
I'm a german/french/brit American whose job requires sleeping during the day. Fair-skinned doesn't begin to describe it: http://i.imgur.com/xODrM.jpg |
I am having such a hard time biting my tongue right now. So, while I would like to actually have a discussion with my friend on the topic at hand, for sake of not being a dick to anyone else, as I'm in a very foul mood, I'll digress and return to my own threads.
Ah. You're almost as white as I am dear. :) German, English, Irish, Welsh, Scottish, possibly some French, etc. Though When I tan I do so beautifully, because of the tiny bit of Italian I have. I get burnt to a cinder once, and after that I only turn a little red. I do get heat stroke though, if I don't drink enough water. I prefer the night time anyway though, so it's really fine.
Ah. I see.
