Short pet name for Grandpa. :)
oh... lol. XD
I relate that to... cramps. XD |
Oh? Are you using a English to something translator?
huh? No...
Poor Xuv not knowing slang xD
but we can't fault her, there really is a lot of slang everywhere nowadays, it's hard to keep up [sweat]
LOL. I am sure being a trilingual is more awesome than knowing slangs.
being trilingual is great :)
I'm bilingual but i can understand and read a third language, i just suck at speaking it xD |
heh, I am beginner in another language too. XD basic grammar, structure and vocabulary is okay, but not for more complex things. Enough to listen to anime and read manga, but not novels or newspaper.
i kinda want to learn a fourth language, but i'm at that age where i just don't want to do anything anymore, haha. I'll have to see howthis semester goes and if I'm still up for it, i migt just take classes next semester.
Goodie good.
I love learning languages. |
haha they are interesting to learn, its just when it gets down to conjugations and the grammar suff that it gets difficult for me [sweat]
SAME! I hate the grammar part. XD
I still don't know why English have this past and present tense. |
What's your first language?
hmm... most use is Chinese, first learn is English. 8D
ohh, my first language was cantonese, haha, but I know english better at this point. My spanish is mediocre xD
HUH! Cantonese? You Hong Kee?
I can speak Cantonese too~ Thanks to Hong Kong Drama. and my grandma. XD |
Haha, my parents are from Malaysia so it was always the language we spoke at home before I started school. Now I speak a mixture of Chinese and English when I speak with them though I'm trying to limit the English I use because I don't want to end up like my brother who can't speak Chinese anymore and he's younger than me.
You'd think with all the dramas/animes I watch I'd have picked up some on Korean/Japanese language. I think I can recognize phrases now but I think the best time was sometimes during my junior high school years when I could actually watch anime RAW and understand it, now I need subs again [sweat] but yea, dramas are good for helping to learn languages even if it doesn't seem it. |
What a place your parents come from... which mean they are not there anymore?
You chinese too? <33 I learn Japanese through self learn, taking classes and often listen to the REAL Japanese anime with subtitles of course. XD lol. As of now, I can speak and write fairly simple sentences. Not wide enough vocabulary though. Knowing chinese had its perks, I might not know how to pronounce in Japanese, but the meaning of kanji is 90% similar to Chinese. |
No they aren't. We live in the United States :)
I am a Chinese-American I think it's called? haha. It's been a while since I've actually done anything other than speak and hear it, so i can't remember how to read or write it anymore sadly. I can read the most basic characters only [sweat] |
I want to learn another language when I am out of college xD
good luck then dessert :) it's definitely worth learning another since most people seem to speak at least two languages nowadays ^^
Yeah, I don't have time right now... it's not like I even have time to relax as much as i want.
...Out of college only then learn another language?
Why not learn at the same time? |
