I just got a recipe from a lady at work that I wanted to share.
It was very good, we had it the other day at a going away party for our supervisor.

Kathy's Taco Soup

1 jar of mild salsa
2-3 cans rotelli tomato with chili peppers (mild)
1 can of corn or bag of frozen
1 can of black beans
1 can of red beans
(kidney or pintos can be substituted for either)
1 package of taco seasoning
1 package ranch dressing mix
3-4 pieces boneless chicken (boiled) (can substitute beef)

Place in crock pot & let cook.

Topping suggestions:

Cheese
Sour Cream
Crushed Tortilla chips

This looks terrible, but taste wonderful especially on a cold night.

It was really good. I can't wait to try it at home. I want to make it with beef.

I do understand that. We have been there a few times. Miscreant & I got good at coming up with new ideas for ramen noodles. We have used lots of leftovers in with ramen.

Are you still at school or will you be heading home soon?

If you are still at school get together with a few people & have everyone bring an item or two to contribute to the meal. We have done that many times as well. We do that most of the time when we make sukiyaki.

I want to make a cook book with some of the fun foods I've made with that.

That would be an interesting cook book.
Would you care to share any the fun foods that you have made with it with us?

I recently made chicken skewers for a cookout, but instead of marinating the chicken in teriyaki sauce or Italian dressing(although I want to try that), I marinated it overnight(okay, six hours minimum) in barbecue sauce(I used Sweet Baby Ray's honey barbecue sauce) -- they actually came out really good!

So, this isn't so much a recipe itself as it is a way to sort of tweak a recipe you might already have, or that you can find in a cookbook/on the internet/etc.

Hello onsenmark.
I've never had Sweet Baby Ray's honey barbecue sauce.
Cookout tips are always appreciated, especially around this time of year.
I'm glad it came out good. I may have to look out for that sauce when I finish the one we have right now.

I think you can find it in almost any grocery store; according to their website, you can find it in most of the U.S.

I think that someday, I'd like to adapt it into actual kebobs. I presume it could be done.

Sukiyaki (鋤焼?, or more commonly すき焼き) is a Japanese dish, of the soup or stew type, prepared and served in the nabemono (Japanese hot pot) style.

It consists of meat (usually thinly sliced beef) which is slowly cooked or simmered at the table, alongside vegetables and other ingredients, in a shallow iron pot in a mixture of soy sauce, sugar, and mirin. Before being eaten, the ingredients are usually dipped in a small bowl of raw, beaten eggs.

Generally sukiyaki is a winter dish and it is commonly found at bōnenkai, Japanese year-end parties.
This is sukiyaki. Snitched the description from the wiki page.

I recently did that too! I was marinading chicken for kabobs in a teriyaki sauce but ran out, so used some of the bbq sauce the ol' man was using on his pork ribs for the rest of the chicken kabobs - those were gooood! I love the Honey Chipotle flavour of that brand.
