My ex's girlfriend was trying to get me to try peppermint tea a little while back. I wasn't sold haha. Have you ever tried raspberry tea?
No, but I'm told it's really good. I have to steep the peppermint bag awhile, add Stevia and then I like it :)
I love green tea with mint and peach tea :)
Raspberry tea is actually pretty nice. One of the few flavours I like. What's stevia?
Cass, what's the best tea (In your opinion) for someone who would be new to tea bag brand of tea? |
Stevia is a natural sweetner. My mom uses it because it's better for her than sugar for her diabetes. It has a different taste than sugar, you have to use less or it'll taste really bad :P
I like using agave, personally. It's already liquid so it dissolves easier. I use it for tea and yogurt.
@Roz: I would usually go for Tetley, PG Tips, Typhoo or Twinings. I don't know if you can get them worldwide though. Tetley, for me, is the best. PG Tips and Typhoo are much and such the same, good but nothing to write home about. Twinings is really nice, it's an Earl Grey tea that had Stephen Fry in the advert.
@Superstition: Ah, I've never heard of that. I should probably switch from sugar to a sweetener since I'm a high risk of being diabetic but... |
Honey is also a good natural sweetner that's not as bad as sugar. Trivia (or is it Truvia?) is also supposed to be good and I think it's a lot cheaper than stevia
Truvia. It's derived from stevia.
I don't like using honey, except on biscuits >3> I think a light agave has less taste than honey. I don't always want honey-flavored yogurt  |
I have a love/hate relationship with honey. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. The only sweetener I've heard of is Splenda, and that's pretty much like sugar.
Cass; Ah okay. I think I will try to look them up and see if I can them. |
I hope you can find them. (: I am a strong believer in the British mentality that there is nothing better than a good cup of tea.
@Keyori Yeah, honey isn't good in everything. Doesn't taste that great in peppermint tea :P I've only used it in vanilla charmomil tea.
@ Bucket Splenda is good to but I'm not sure if it's as good for diabetes....my mom knows all that stuff :P |
Splenda probably isn't. xD My dad and my step mum both have diabetes, I'm not sure what they use though. They possibly still use regular sugar since they're not big tea or coffee drinkers.
I have splenda to use in place of granulated sugar when it's just for sweetening, like when I'm making sauces.
If I use sugar in sauces I tend to use caster sugar as it's smoother than normal sugar.
Cass; I've only had iced tea and once hot tea. It was apple flavoured I think. I don't remember, as I was younger then. >.< But I loved it and want to try more flavours! |
I have found a great licorice tea.
That's interesting. I don't really like licorice (even strawberry) but I think a licorice tea could be good.
@Roz: I don't like iced tea. Hot tea is the way forward. I think I might go make another cup now I've washed the dye out of my hair again. :')
@Kirin: Hm...doesn't sound like it could be for me. I'm not a fan of licorice. |
Licorice tea....that sounds good! I should try some!
BUCKET. What color did you dye your hair?
PIX. o3o |
I've re-dyed pink in. This is the third time I've done it now. So it's really pink. :eager:
It's still wet at the moment, but it's basically a much brighter version of this. |
