No, sorry, I have not [lol] I'm a man. The only clothes I look for are the kind for men - in which most cases men aren't supposed to have curves anyway. I do however, walk into a similar problem like you. It's hard to find clothes in most stores that can fit me properly, so I understand your position [sweat] Weird though, I'd think that since women are naturally supposed to have curves, that finding such clothing shouldn't be so hard for you!

Oooh, I'll try that out. First though, I'm going to search through it on wikipedia to see if I can find more on this book - just so I know I'll be interested.

PapillonCameo 04-10-2013 02:27 AM

That particular question was rather rhetorical... So why don't clothes in stores fit you?
As for that, well there's this thing called media that promotes thin and less curvy as being quite the ideal. Might have something to do with that. Besides, my chest kind of .. makes it a little harder. The shirts that fit my torso, well if there's buttons they kind of pop open, or it's not decently covering. ^^'

Oh, or look it up on Amazon, or goodreads, they usually have good summaries.

McNugget 04-10-2013 02:44 AM

Because my waist is small and I'm very tall. If pants fit my waist, they're normally too short on the legs, and if they fit my legs they are often too big on the waist.
That's the wrong ideal! Curvy women are real women and it's more appealing in my eyes if the woman has some weight to her! Skinny women often look really unhealthy and it's not very appealing to me.. >_> And I know I'm not the only man that thinks so.

Already looked it up on wikipedia! I'm going to try ton get this book! I think I like! [XD]

PapillonCameo 04-10-2013 02:51 AM

lol That's gotta be awkward.
Tell that to the clothing companies. There are people naturally that small, but sometimes women will starve themselves just to fit this unrealistic idea of what women should look like.

Oh, well if you like that one there's surely others I've read that you might like. There's this one that I keep re-reading, a retelling of Arthurian legend, it always captures the imagination. It may be a children's book but it's gripping. The Third Magic by Welwyn Wilton Katz. This one would definitely need to be ordered online, considering it's at least a decade old and was written by a not so popular Canadian author.

If you can get an edition published in 1992 or a few years earlier, there's a section of the story in the book that was taken out later for some reason.

McNugget 04-10-2013 02:55 AM

Oh, it can be quite awkward. Especially since I have a thyroid problem, so gaining weight just so more pants can fit me is easier said than done.
What is it with women thinking that you need to be stick skinny to be ideal? Seriously, that's just messed up and pitiful.

I've been looking up more books and I'm finding all sorts of interesting ones, so no need to suggest more or else I thinking I'm finding what can turn into an unhealthy obsession with reading [XD]

PapillonCameo 04-10-2013 03:01 AM

You shouldn't change yourself to fit clothes, you change the clothes to fit you. They are inanimate after all.

Well ... in part it might be to please other people in their lives, they want to be liked by everyone, and think fitting the ideal will help them with that.

*gasp* How can you ever develop an unhealthy obsession for reading? There is no such thing! Reading is so much more then just that, you learn with every page you turn, about people and yourself. You get to see into the minds of others, into the past and into the future, you travel to wondrous lands and live adventures uncountable!

McNugget 04-10-2013 03:13 AM

I don't always have the time to fix them myself or have people professionally make my clothes for me for my unique measurements though~

Ehhh, girls like that should know better. but I guess since I don't know their position I shouldn't judge.

[lol] Silly! I once gotten too buried in a few book series before when I was younger and I ended up hallucinating a bit for always having my face in a book.. It psychologically wasn't good [XD] That's why I now only read them every now and then zand try not to get too caught up in them.

PapillonCameo 04-10-2013 03:17 AM

Aw, lol

What do you mean, silly? *pokes* Hallucinations, like real true blue hallucinations and not daydreams?

McNugget 04-10-2013 03:23 AM

Yeah, real hallucinations. I'd read so much and barely sleep.. That's most likely why [XD]

PapillonCameo 04-10-2013 03:26 AM

Aw, well at least they don't happen anymore.

Hmm, wait, you draw?

McNugget 04-10-2013 03:30 AM

Yes, I do draw~
Why do you ask?

PapillonCameo 04-10-2013 03:41 AM

Can I see?
I've shown you some of my drawings haven't I? If not, I can easily give you a link to my DA profile thing.

McNugget 04-10-2013 06:57 PM

I got a new computer since my old computer died so I have no pictures to show at the moment. But I think digging through some websites I go on and looking through my galleries I might find some. Or.. Perhaps you can ask me to draw you something and I'll draw it for you tonight? [XD]

PapillonCameo 04-10-2013 06:59 PM

Oooh, well in that case ... Would you mind drawing one of my characters?

I'll go dig up his profile right now, or at least the only profile I have made up for an rp...

McNugget 04-10-2013 07:05 PM

Sure! All I'll need is a decent enough description or a doodle or whatever it is you're going to show me.

Hmmm, I shall start this now [XD]
And only if you want to draw something for me~ And if so, just draw whatever you want~

PapillonCameo 04-10-2013 07:30 PM

He's got an attitude, then again with his backstory that's understandable.

Well that doesn't give me any ideas! Let's see, man, woman or something else? (as in fantastical creature, regular animal, etc)

McNugget 04-10-2013 07:53 PM

Hmm, draw me a woman... And make her have water/ice themed? That's all I can think of. Be as creative as you want with that vague idea [lol]

PapillonCameo 04-10-2013 07:58 PM

I can work with that. I've drawn things with less.

Wrenji-chan 04-11-2013 04:18 AM

McNugget 04-11-2013 04:21 AM
