Also - congrats Dan! [=3] |
Well, what things interest you, Fading? And congrats! I on the other hand ... am not graduating from college.
Hi Nugget, how are you? |
It's the exact opposite here; we get like a month of 'winter' (though the temperature is probably not even spring or autumn standards for some countries...), and the rest is just...hot hot hot hot hot [gonk] ---------- Post added 04-14-2014 at 09:42 AM ---------- Uh...BC and manga? [sweat] BC is at least somewhat English-relevant (got into the institute of English after all), but hardly something I can write a thesis over (or maybe I could, but it would probably drive myself insane) |
BC meaning what? And actually, you could definitely talk about manga. You could talk about the influence of manga on english literature of the current times, couldn't you?
Because, I've basically failed two of my classes and even if I do pass them, I won't have enough credits to graduate. |
Cameo -
Dan - Sounds like beach weather almost all year round~ |
BC as in Benedict Cumberbatch. Not really a great choice for writing a thesis on since it'll probably turn out quite biased. [sweat];;;; |
You could perhaps write about how manga has affected Western culture? I remember writing an essay on that for my English class and got a good score on it.
Oooh. Umm.. Where do you live again? <_> |
Nugget- It feels horrible, but ... I have some plans in mind.
Fading-Why stop at English actors? You could ooooh, look at movie adaptations versus books? Which actually could tie in with comic books being turned into movies. I'm sure you could get a thesis question out of that. Hmm, never heard of it, but I suppose .. I dunno, I've basically given up because nothing I try at college or university ever works. I'm thinking of working and taking online classes here and there when I can. |
What are your plans Cameo? Is it just the online courses plan?
|
Well that and trying to start my own business, using the things I've learned. I mean, I learned the essentials of what I wanted to with that in mind. The other stuff, well that's what I'm struggling with.
|
Oh. Well, good luck! [:O]
|
*flops into the thread*
|
haha Surprised, Nugget?
Hi Kirin! How are you ? |
Wow, I wish you the best of luck Papillon! What kind of business do you plan on starting? [:)] |
Either an art store, or a craft store. XD
Bah, thesis is just another way of saying question and answer. Nothing to panic about. |
I am sleepy.
|
Ooh, sounds fun! [eager] Maybe you could even have classes on the side for kids and stuff...I see them a lot whenever I'm at a department store; in the kids area, there are tons of these mini art-classes where they provide the supplies and teach the kids how to make something for a certain fee. Parents usually don't mind paying for those kinds of things, as it keeps the kids distracted for an hour or so while the parents could get some shopping done. [lol] |
That was already part of the plan. ^^ I can't wait to get started working on it all.
haha Lots of ideas now? Kirin why so sleepy? |
I can't wait to see pictures of it too! [eager] If I'm to start a business I have no idea what I want to do...a couple of friends and I have jokingly talked about opening a restaurant where one friend would be the waitress, the other doing all the accounting, and me in the kitchens doing the cooking, but I doubt it's actually a feasible plan. [lol];;; |
*yawns and curls up in a corner*
|
lol I need a decent camera first. Well heck, all you'd need is a business plan, and some financing, and it would for sure be plausible.
heh Well ideas are ideas. |
Well...starting up is the easy part. I'm terrified of it flopping and ending with everyone in debt. [sweat] |
Aaww, well that's why you have focus groups before even starting, to make sure your concept is sound, and that you're servins the things the target market wants, and have a theme for the restaurant that they like.
|
Yeah...except there are so many restaurants here it's kind of hard. [lol];; If you did something everyone else has, you risk people not liking your stuff as much and = no customers. Yet if you do something that not everyone else has (such as selling some kind of foreign exotic foods), you risk people not liking the taste or not wanting to venture out of their palate comfort zone, and again = no customers. [gonk]; |
That's why you have focus groups. The customers will tell you exactly what they think is missing, you just need to figure out which questions to ask during the sessions so you can find out.
