Birthday parties, they can be fun sometimes.
In my family though, birthday parties turn into ''Keep the kids inside and let the beers come out after 7PM'.
Oh and loud music with drunk people singing until 3AM.

That's about how it is here. Only the kids can come and go however they want as long as someone's inside when they're inside. The back yard of my uncle's house is completely fenced in.
I had to go blow up the little pool that'll keep them entertained. That's the job they gave me since I've got the largest lung capacity of the immediate family.

Our yard is a decent size.
There's the patio, where the adults are and then there's this other section we have with the pool for the kids.
I tend to stay inside and make the little ones don't break anything. I usually play babysitter since I feel too young and out of place when I'm out with everyone else. I just don't know where I belong in my own family.

The regular pool is too deep for the kids. While they're out there they need a small one, and it's in a shady area of the yard since there are a few large trees in the yard as well. The kids are only allowed in if someone else goes in, though.
I know that feeling. Most of my family is relatively short, or average height, and dark-haired. I'm the complete opposite, so I feel... out of place. Strange. Like they're shadows and I'm a tall invasive light.

Our pool isn't too deep, it's one of those set up types. During the Summer we set up the pool and during Fall, Winter, and Spring we have the trampoline.
Eh, I just feel weird around them. I'm not one to talk about my personal business and that's all they want know.
I don't mind talking about school or little stuff like that, but then they want to get personal, which makes me feel uncomfortable.
I love them, but I'm not into tell my stuff out to everyone.

Kids are here! Now it's getting serious.
We've had to put a fence around the most exposed areas of the pool so the youngest can't fall in accidentally. The gate is kept locked so they can't get in, either. Hooray for cheap installation!
Oh, lord, then you'd die around my family. Nothing is sacred, and I do mean absolutely nothing. I just don't talk to them when they're in the gossip-personal-deep conversations, because it tends to stretch on for... a long time. I try not to say anything that would lead to more, awkward questions.

Took a trip to my dad's work, they were giving out ice cream.
Pool-side plus ice cream is awesome for a hot almost summer day. Hahha.

Sounds like a good day then! We made our own ice cream, though. Strawberry and vanilla, not bad! The kids luckily got worn out and are sleeping now. So I'm mostly free, now.

It was a good day. I had chocolate and velvet cake ice cream. It was delicious!
Yay for sleeping kids. Haha.

Oh, that does sound good! We've made too much, like we usually do in these types of get-togethers, so we'll have a lot of leftovers among the group. At least I won't have to cook for a few days.

It's all right, we've been vanishing all over the place today.

We tend to make too much as well.
Most of the time every takes a little bit home, and sometimes even then there's lots left over.
Give my mom the excuse to not cook for a couple of days though.
I'm sure, little kids can be quite a workout.

Ah yes, I'll have to work something out.
I've kind of lost my creativity at the moment.

Sometimes we have to force people to take something so no one's overwhelmed. And that's the way it is sometimes! Luckily for me I don't get burned out on a certain item having eaten it through a few days. Or weeks, even. I tell you what, I could eat apples all day, every day. But that's bad for you. *Sigh*

Well, for the time being there isn't much rush. Take your time for a while, eh?
