Uhm excuse me for asking Mobius, how old are you? Wondering who is older :P
Oh we can't do that here in MO or hardly anywhere in the school districts. Because they call that child abuse, so kids get away with alot of shit around here. Though my brother isn't that bad, he is five, and most of the time he does get a spanking with all the things he does. Breaking the front window twice, the kitchen window, throwing in general, throwing something at the coffee maker breaking it, and a few other things. He is a very destructive- okay wait, let me sum him up in one single word...
SPOILED! Yep, the spoiled little brat.

I'm 23.
I'm a firm believer in spanking when I think it will make a point. Spanking a kid for everything bad they do I don't like, I think it leads to bitterness and acting out because they feel like even if they barely mess up, they'll be swatted. I was spanked three times in my life, I remember each one, and I learned a lesson every diggity dang time. So I believe it works, if done correctly.
I know how you feel about the schools. Mum's a kindergarten teacher. Instead of a firm swat, the kids get suspended for three days. That's not punishment. That's tell a child 'if you missbehave, you don't have to come to school'. And the kid is ecstatic!

Mobius, omg that's like my 18 yr old brother. He always knew if he got in trouble at school he could just go home when he wanted to. >.>
Also, kids need to learn more than that. This preschool lady that works with children even outside of the school told us not to work on his manners, that he was too young, hell we did it anyways. I have seen children now a days and they do not know anything about respect in any certain way. A few do, I like those kids, but most don't. *shakes head sadly*
You're 23? may I ask your birthday month?
Cant read it atm, plus im tired from what happened earlier, so I'll try to tomorrow at least to read it star.

I think everyone here is older than me. XD
I'm in general agreement with the conversation. People are too lenient on kids these days. At least, in America.

I actually say 'almost 23' when people ask my age. Then they mutter, "oh...I thought you were 16". -__- My birthday is in July.

I think it's annoying. I don't even look like a high school brat. My hair is cute and curly and my style young...but my face isn't really young and I don't wear make up to cover it up.

I know how you feel kat. I'm 23 and people always think I'm 16-18 its okay to be seen as young, but when someone calls you 14 and you do NOT look that young, it can be quite a pain, sometimes I find it as an insult with this newer generation.

I agree. The punishment should fit the offense. If he got physical, he needs to know how that feels.
