Anything at all can be used for RP really. D&D campaigns for example can be heavily RP intensive.

Isn't D&D rping in the first place?

For some people. I dunno I started out playing it as more just a tabletop videogame. Sadly it didn't last long.

I mean, as far as I know, D&D is table top role play. I'm pretty sure the word roleplay was used for that and video games before it was used for the kind of forum based rping we do around here.

I have a lot of chances since I have friends and coworkers who do it and like, one of my coworkers practically lives for D&D. Just so far, our schedules have really not matched up enough to let us do it.

I LOVE dungeons and dragons. i have been dying to play again. i've been working on creating this giant campaign and everyone i talk to wants me to run it for them. but i can never find a time that everyone is free. and i'm also terrified that i'm going to embaress myself because i'm new to dungeon mastering. I've always been a player. But i have so many ideas and i really want to play it with others. but i'm kind of terrifed to.

i could actually probably run it as a roleplay in forum form with a little bit of editing now that i think about it. I mean there is even dice built into menewsha so technically you could make some dice rolls. and than edit posts with the results. unless its like a DM must tell you what your dice roll means type result. It could be incredibly fun. and it would mean that you don't have to all have free time at the same exact time.

I've seen people do d&d on the forum here. Dice based games aren't too hard to manage. I say go for it when you have time.

That would be really fun!!!!! i should do it. but i wonder if it can be done with just one on one. or if it needs to be a group RP with turns and DM me posting alot more .

I would figure a group since that's usually how D&D works, but you could just collect a couple other people to play with you.

Well Menewsha does have a dice feature. You could totally make a mini campaign on here [yes] though it would be rather hard to manage character sheets I think.

well there is the OCC area right? I'm sure i could find an online area to get a character sheet . like a google docs. or we have a blog or what not. And there are downloadable sheets to the computer so you can print and play. and i could keep track of them for myself just so i know. xD idk

Well, newer. I wouldn't say new.

It showed up maybe a year ago??? Has kinda a wishy washy purpose. I'm not entirely sure what the original intent behind it was.

I need to look into the character journal subforum. It may be really useful. Though i'm still kind of nervous about starting up a campaign on here. I kind of wish there was a way I could do it like this one thread on solia that I was in. They would tag the post. and do some quote stuff to indicate that they were replying in character. A bunch of them even had character pictures they posted when they were roleplaying. but the rest of the time it was just a hangout thread.

I've seen roleplay hangouts before. They haven't been all that popular around this site in a while though. I guess it's just the user base.

i feel like it works really well with a dungeons and dragons style roleplay . Cause well.. alot of a gaming session is arguing about rules and talking about completely unrelated things than the campaign. and music. lots of musical outbursts of song.

Probably. I wouldn't know since I haven't done it before. Closest I got was a session I was going to watch mostly because they were doing it at our usual pub hangout and I wanted to go out and drink after work. But then we all just ended up drinking and talking the whole night.

that can happen alot. We often end up in our sessions only getting through one or two battles/scenarios before the time we have is up.

actually some of my friends are annoyed with me for not continuing campaigns. but i haven't dropped them. I just haven't had the time to do them.. and it has to be at my house and they're not willing to come over. but i can't just leave my kids.
