True and I got home about 20 minutes a ago. was out at a baseball game for my nephew. he did a pretty good job but froze up. when my sister his mom try record a video of him. while he was pitching it was his first time doing so all season.

She's got a couple, really, and in no particular order. The first is figuring out where her fellows are. The second (and the one that's going to have the most plot-relevancy), is get herself un-scrambled from things that happened right before the fic started and, as a result, why her ancestor decided that this hot mess was the one he'd pass his legacy on to.

Basically, this is a hotheaded battlemage having to do a little soul-searching. Fun-funs....

Sounds like the character has enough internal tension that you may not need a big villain. Just enough people and internal things to stand in her way while she tries to find things out. Enough to make the quest difficult. It sounds like it's far more driven by her internal plot that fighting sequences.

Yeah. I mean, there's going to be a lot of space travel and some combat (because hey, battlemage planeswalker who miiiight be a bit of an adrenaline junkie). Oh, yeah, and 2-3 people stuck in a small(ish) spacecraft with a snarky ship AI. Looking forward to that little blender X'D

I've become too much of a planner so I try to set out very simple projects so I can manage better. I usually don't succeed.

Though I usually don't start writing completely cold. Most times I have at least a general idea of what I'm doing, and that's usually "here's the protags, here's the antags, here's the universe...now let's put it all in a blender and see what happens!". Plus maybe a few scenes and plot points that I want to get to, but yeah...not a whole lot of structure when I write.

I like to know my characters and my world very well before I start. I am writing a romance this time around so i know how it ends and the general obstacle, but other than knowing the starting scene, I haven't planned any plot this time around. I'm not sure if it will make the story easier or harder.

I sometimes have an ending scene? Like with Runebreak I don't, even though I know how it ends. Birthright I know the end scene though, generally. (Birthright's the fanfic this year btw)

I at least like to know where I'm going because it's pretty hard to write a linear story that doesn't know it's own path.

I need go grocery shopping tomorrow. oh the fun that is when I'm not in the mood to go. but know I have to are I'll be annoyed to death. by fact we are running low on food.

I will go tomorrow because otherwise I can't eat dinner.

I'm happy to say I got my grocery shopping done today. plus got some free steak to eat for tomorrow.
