I guess those lights were made for people who live really up north or south like Alaska or Antarctica where they don't get enough sunlight for months on end.

It's weird, here in Australia there is sunshine galore especially during our warmer months...but Vitamin D deficiency is still a problem that apparently is becoming more common here...I recently found out I'm one of those people with Vitamin D deficiency...and the doctor was telling me to go out in the sun more.

That blue light therapy product seems so weird...I don't think I would use it. That whole 'not to be used by people with bi-polar' is not comforting...bi-polar is a mental health problem. The indication that the light that could potentially cause further harm to state of mental health makes me think it is probably not good for anyone...and not just those with bi-polar or other diagnosed mental health problem.

Hahaha I wish I could say the same. I have to drive to work so I get enough sunlight just from that. ;

Though then again I'm not sure if I have Vitamin D deficiency because I tend to wear jackets and gloves when driving to avoid getting sunlight on me...

It has only just started to get sunny again, after weeks of cloudy, windy and rainy weather...it's a nice change, apart from the fact that hayfever sufferers are sneezing like crazy.

It's been raining loads lately because of a recent typhoon. It's been raining almost non-stop both yesterday and today...I'm glad I didn't go out today. @ [email protected];;

Typhoons and other crazy wind weather conditions seem to be common in Taiwan.

I think people in America might be suffering from a lack of Vit D also. Because of all the skin cancer stuff. Seems like people want to do all or nothing. XD Hopefully at some point we'll be taught moderation.

I tried to do a little more reading on it. Seems the light is also used to help treat people with depression. I can't find on the product where it says bipolar people shouldn't use it, but after some reading elsewhere, I think what it is, is that bipolar people are more sensitive to light rhythms and need to regulate their light/darkness ratio more strictly than those without bipolar disorder do. So, there's the potential for misuse with higher consequences for people with this disorder.

I think I have an iron deficiency. But that's a long story haha. I ordered some chewable vitamins last night that contain iron, I just can't seem to swallow the horse pill i have without choking on it. xP

Anyways that light thing is interesting, though I don't think I'll be buying it.

Yus~ Which makes even more sense since the lack of light.

@Lon: Yeah, like Nim said, just go outside.
What pills are you taking? Just iron?

Iku- It's a women's one a day multivitamin, with iron in it. I felt better while taking it, but once I started feeling better, I quit taking them. Now i'm having heart palpitations again and my brain is fuzzy.

@Lon: If it's a pill have you thought about crushing it up into a banana or dissolving it in tea to make it easier to take? :)

That's for sure! I had that go on for like two months straight, and heavy too. It was horrible. There's a reason though, changed BC.

Well for example if you're having a banana sandwich you could mush the pill and the banana together so it's not so big you can't swallow it yet you're still taking it. As for the tea it can be any hot drink and you'd just add it in like you would a sweetener and then it dissolves into the drink so you don't notice you're taking it. It's what we have to do for my little cousin to make her take her medication because she can't swallow pills.

I've swallowed a lot of pills in my life, so as long as the pill isn't huge I can manage. o wo;;

Sometimes I gag on the vitamins though...they're rather large.
