Yeah, for around seven years, though the first four years don't really count because I barely remember any of my life there during that time, being 1 - 4 years old. [XD];;; |
oh [lol]
yeah that doesnt count [ninja] |
Yeah...was there for second through fourth grade, came back, and never went back again except a couple of years during summer vacation. [ninja] |
would you consider going back there?
and even living there? |
I wouldn't mind~ o wo |
yeah that's an issue.
well, it depends on your profession. or whatever >> |
That proof the hardest part of moving long distances.
|
Yeah...My spoken English isn't that great (neither is my written, actually, come to think of it...) so I'm not sure if I can handle a desk job or not. I don't really have a profession either (because there are so many other English majors out there that actually studied their major in an English speaking country), so...yep. No idea what I'd do if I ever moved back to the states. [lol];;; |
Really? I didn't even know English was a second language for you! You're better than you think Anta. It's probably one of those things when your around it you'll pick it back up really quick. I'm like that with french. In my part of Canada there isn't a whole lot of french speakers but When I hear it I can still understand large bits of it. Writing it ...not so much I always messed up all the ascent markers.

Yeah, we speak Chinese at home, so the only times I spoke or used English (aside from when I'm studying) was outside. After I came back to Taiwan I've been trying to maintain my English level by reading tons of novels and (nowadays) fanfiction, and, of course, chatting with you guys online. [;)] And watching movies while attempting to ignore the subtitles. I guess it managed to improve my English somewhat? I think I have a better English level than fourth grade anyway, which was as far as I got in the states. [sweat] |
I've spoken to Taiwanese and Mainland Chinese people who come to Australia for various reasons either to stay or just to study/work temporarily...usually their English, while sometimes broken, somewhat mispronounced and spoken with poor sentence structure is not that hard to understand. And that's how I'd describe those who are bad at English.
I think Antagonist is fairly fluent at English, your comprehension is good. If you speak the same words in the same structure as you write it I think the accent wouldn't be too much of a barrier. |
That's good to know. o wo;; |
-flops face first onto thread- |
You okay? o __o; |
oh yes. |
oh great.
|
whuuut? T^T |
youre not supposed to mop the floor with your face when lots of stressful things happen!
|
and why not? |
Antie is fairly fluent in English I think. We've never really had a communication problem.
There are some on here who (not that I consider this a bad thing, just an observation) have a far less comprehensible English. @Clockie- alright then clean the floor while you are down there anyways. |
cause [ninja]
its not an option. it just isnt. and it doesnt do much either, just clean the thread, which is nice, but it doesnt solve the issue [ninja] ---------- Post added 12-19-2013 at 06:21 PM ---------- Quote:
