We have a lefties restaurant here xD
I asked once if I get a discount since I'm a lefty but they only give 50% discount to the lefties during the International Lefthanders Day.

So, pros and cons...I know I certainly absolutely suck at doing things with my left hand while my lefty friends could do them with both. [gonk]

I'm sort of a hard headed lefty. I do have a friend who's semi-ambidextrous at doing things because of the right handed-ness of the world.

My dad's left handed so I wasn't forced to write using my right hand, thankfully.
My cousin who's a few years younger than me was forced by her mother to write using her right hand. I remember my aunt holding up my cousin's left hand while telling her to write with her right hand. My cousin cried silently and asked for her left hand. She kept pleading to her mom saying, "Bowow (Borrow)." I remembered looking at them and thinking that there must be really something wrong with me because I use the "wrong" hand. When my dad saw what was happening and that I was watching them, he got angry and clearly told my aunt that there was nothing wrong with being left handed and that she shouldn't tell her own daughter that using her left hand is wrong and the correct way is to use her right hand. My aunt dropped my cousin's left hand then.
I think she still tried to force my cousin though because my cousin holds her spoon and fork the right handed way but she looks really awkward when eating though.

Antagonist 06-10-2014 07:00 AM

Yeah, my friend told me that her mom slapped her left hand every time she used it to eat. >__>

Jeesuz people, being left-handed isn't some kind of disease!

Pistachio_Moustache 06-10-2014 07:04 AM

Btw, I'm left handed.
xD
It's not a disease, lol!
It's more common than most people think~!

Antagonist 06-10-2014 09:09 AM

Yeah, I seem to come across a lot of left-handed people...so I don't get why there's still such a big stigma on lefties like its a bad thing, and why there aren't more products designed for left-handed people. >_>

hummy 06-10-2014 10:21 AM

*oddball rightie sits in corner*
i think lefties are creative people [yes]

Lexadis 06-10-2014 10:46 AM

Ses is left handed? [:O] there's something like the left handed use their right size of the brain and right handed use their left side of the brain or something like that, right? Or is it something I just believed was true? [ninja] and forcing children to use their right hand? What does it have to matter whether they are using the left or right? [chair]

Antagonist 06-10-2014 10:50 AM

I guess part of the reason is because most stuff are geared towards right-handed people, like desks, scissors, etc, so the parents want them to get used to using their right hand in order to be able to use them?

Lexadis 06-10-2014 10:59 AM

I don't know, but..but..it's not good [gonk]
And some people hold their pen in very weird ways that's it's fun to watch [XD] my biology teacher is a leftie, but she holds the pen in some awkward manner that it looks like she is trying to rotate a 360 degree turn [lol]
Are you good? [boogie]

hummy 06-10-2014 11:22 AM

are can openers a pain, too

Antagonist 06-10-2014 11:39 AM

According to my friends, I hold my chopsticks weirdly too. [XD]

I'm good [:)] Had tomato juice, juice milk, and some spaghetti today and my stomach/intestines still feel fine [boogie]

Sestina 06-10-2014 11:40 AM

@Lexadis - Yes, I'm left handed. :3
I don't know if I write in a weird way but this is how my hand looks when I write, along with my handwriting! :D My handwriting is... weird. LOL

@Antagonist - Yeah, that's most probably it. Still, I didn't like how my aunt worded her reason as to why she wanted my cousin to turn right handed. Translated in English, she'd say to her daughter (my cousin): Using your left hand is wrong. Your right hand is the correct hand to use.

---------- Post added 06-10-2014 at 07:41 PM ----------

@hummy - Can openers used to be a pain to me but I got used to it. It's those scissors that are designed in a way that are 'comfortable' for the right handed people but quite uncomfortable if you're a lefty. [XP] Like this:

they should make left=handed can openers, too.
i make my f's like that =3

Sestina 06-10-2014 11:45 AM

Some brands probably do make left-handed can openers but I don't think you can easily find it and buy it. The same with left-handed arm chairs, they make those, but there's only a few. xD
And hooray! We write our f's the same way! [boogie]

Antagonist 06-10-2014 11:46 AM

Your handwriting looks beautiful! o Ao Very artistic-looking. Mine's just...messy. xD If I write slowly they're okay-looking but if I'm in a hurry it's almost unreadable. >_>;;

Scissors don't work well in the wrong hand too. Dx I tried a lefty scissor once and couldn't get it to cut when I used my right hand, and vice versa for righty scissors in my left hand. ^^;

Sestina 06-10-2014 11:49 AM

Aw shucks, thanks! [oops] That's my calm handwriting xD When I'm in a hurry, my handwriting is hard to read too! [lol]

I have never tried or seen a lefty scissor [:O]

Lexadis 06-10-2014 11:51 AM

Ses I love your handwriting! I wish I could write like that but mine is.. usually neat but it can get quite messy if I'm sleepy or lazy [lol]

---------- Post added 06-10-2014 at 05:22 PM ----------

I've seen a leftie scissor! I've used it too, but it was hard. My dad bought it because he didn't read that it was left handed one [XD] I gave it to my cousin who is leftie, and he was mighty pleased with it [lol]

Sestina 06-10-2014 11:53 AM

I wish I could write neatly. I love neat handwriting. It's easier to read and especially when you read your notes to study.
Mine's just not neat. It's so squiggly! Like my hand is restless or something [lol]

Lexadis 06-10-2014 11:56 AM

I don't like neat handwriting [gonk] Others I do, but not mine [XD] You can make your writing into a font! [insane]

Zira Angel 06-10-2014 11:58 AM

Haiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

My meds hate me.

Antagonist 06-10-2014 12:00 PM

Ooh, Ses-font! I'd download that. [lol]

@Zira: Sorry to hear that [:(] Anything to make it not hate you so much? [gonk]

Sestina 06-10-2014 12:01 PM

Nah, my handwriting is too crazy. It doesn't even fit into the spaces between the lines on the page of a notebook. [lol]
I do have different handwritings though [insane] Would you like to see them?
I think they look different (my different handwritings) but my bestfriend said all my handwritings have something similar and it's easy for her to identify if it's my handwriting or another person's.

Antagonist 06-10-2014 12:05 PM

Sure! [eager]

Zira Angel 06-10-2014 12:05 PM

Ant, it is about seven thirty in the morning, I don't think I'll be dipping into the alcohol at this time. Maybe later, if I can't sleep for two days again.

Sesti, shooooow o3o
