Oh, that's got to be simply dreadful.

My little doggie is scared of the rain, and she hides and cries...

The cat couldn't care less if there was a gun battle outside.

I live in a city, so the most 'wildlife' we get are stray dogs and cats everywhere. And rats, roaches, that sort of thing. [sweat]

I work on a campus located beside the beach and on a mountain though, so we get lots of spiders and bugs in the mountains, along with a lot of monkeys. [XD];

VeraDark 07-29-2014 12:51 AM

We have a few renegade chickens in our neighborhood, believe it or not, and I saw a peacock wandering around uptown once... just strutting around.

Squirrels, because there's trees... rats, too.

Pretty much it, I think, aside from cats, dogs, pigeons, the usual.

`Kitami 07-29-2014 12:51 AM

I think Sweet Pea just knows its a predator. For all I know, she can smell it.

My cats don't really freak out, neither did our dog. I worked with some of the animals in my hometown after the tornado that happened, and they were scared to death whenever there were high winds. Most of them are alright now, three years on, but I do know one little dog that has to take what's basically the doggy version of Xanax when there's severe weather. And there is this cat that lives at my dad's nursing home, and we're pretty sure he is a tornado displaced cat who's owner was killed, and he's skittish as all get out.

My cat was rescued from an abandoned warehouse, and they were going to put her down and then I wound up with her when I met the person who rescued her.

She was classed as "feral, and hopeless".

She was completely antisocial, feral, or whatever, and I mewed at her and she came to me and let me pet her, and they just gave her to me. Said she was obviously supposed to be mine.

*is a cat whisperer*

She sleeps on me.

Antagonist 07-29-2014 12:54 AM

I kind of miss having a pet rat...

VeraDark 07-29-2014 01:01 AM

If my cat was more tolerant, I'd have one, anytime.

But yeah, cat.

Antagonist 07-29-2014 01:02 AM

Haha, that's what my parents keep saying to me every time I tell them I want a pet snake. That it'll eat my guinea pig. >__>

VeraDark 07-29-2014 01:08 AM

I couldn't have a pet snake, even if it was non-venomous and only ate crickets or something, I'm so totally phobic about snakes.

They scare me so bad.

`Kitami 07-29-2014 01:31 AM

But they're adorable. D:

I used to have a pet mouse, and then Sweet Pea decided she was going to be my only pet. So she killed Vera. Didn't eat her, just murdered her in cold blood. o_o

Antagonist 07-29-2014 01:33 AM

[gonk]

Yeah, my pet cat from years ago spent hours bonking her head against various surfaces one night just to catch and dissect a single grasshopper. Didn't eat it either. [sweat]

`Kitami 07-29-2014 01:35 AM

Sweet Pea is a wonderful mouser. And she never wasted them, she'd eat what was apparently the good parts anyway, but not with Vera. I swear, she wanted to make a point. [gonk]

Antagonist 07-29-2014 01:37 AM

Poor Vera. :c

I suppose if I ever get a cat it'll have a wonderful time murdering all the roaches in the house...>.>;

VeraDark 07-29-2014 01:44 AM

I love rats, but I love cats too, so I'm kinda screwed either way...

I'd need my cat to become a Buddhist or something...

Antagonist 07-29-2014 02:06 AM

I guess at least one of them would have to be constantly under watch so the cat doesn't kill the rat. [sweat] My pet mouse and rat were always in their cages unless I'm holding them so they should be safe from a cat...but probably not a snake as I've heard how snakes are able to wriggle their way through small spaces...

VeraDark 07-29-2014 02:25 AM

I just don't think I'm that good of a pet mommy that I'd be able to manage it all properly...

And if someone died and was eaten as a result, I'd feel like utter pooh.

`Kitami 07-29-2014 03:24 AM

My poor mouse was in her cage. Sweet Pea opened the cage.

Some cats don't like bugaboos. None of ours would touch a roach with a ten foot pole. Locusts were a different story, but they never ate the roaches.

Antagonist 07-29-2014 04:41 AM

Maybe the roaches smell or something. :c

`Kitami 07-29-2014 04:51 AM

I dunno. They don't like something about them though.

Antagonist 07-29-2014 05:02 AM

Well I suppose that would explain why more people eat locusts than roaches...o Ao

`Kitami 07-29-2014 05:12 AM

I couldn't even imagine. [gonk]

Antagonist 07-29-2014 05:53 AM

Me neither. [XD]
Bugs are just...ergh. *shudders* [gonk]

Lexadis 07-29-2014 06:14 AM

The guy who eats live roaches was telling that roaches secrete some kind of a smell when it senses it's on danger, but 'once you get past the smell' it tastes good [rofl]

Antagonist 07-29-2014 06:22 AM

Ah, so it is a smell problem. [lol]

Pistachio_Moustache 07-29-2014 01:39 PM

So the smell IS from the roaches!
I always thought it was bug spray, but it was the roaches!
I could never figure out why it always smelled like bug spray.
It was the roaches making that smell.
My cat chases roaches, so they get a little uncomfortable.
xD

I WANT TO KNOW WHERE THE HECK THEY ARE COMING FROM
