I used to be the same, but I have to admit, I'm getting more of a soft spot in my heart for dogs :) I can't help it, really :D
|
growing up, I was always afraid of dogs, so I doubt that will ever happen to me. I'm still not that comfortable around a lot of them.
|
That's fair enough. I used to be a bit scared of dogs myself when I was younger, particularly the larger ones ^^;
|
I think I like the idea of a dog a lot more than i like them. I'm just naturally so compatible with cats though.
|
Cats!!!! But I love dogs too. I make it my business to befriend everyone's animal. Doesn't matter what it is. :D
|
I think my second choice pet would be a snake.
Does anyone know what the red dots on the crowns on the forum page actually means? Until yesterday, only books and writing didn't have one and now the books forum does. |
Really? Snake? I mean, I like snakes. We always had them growing up. But...I'd be all about bunnies. I miss having one.
Uh, don't know if I noticed them. I dunno |
I dunno. I just like snakes? Rabbits are cute too of course.
Go look on the forum page! There are red dots! |
*wanders off to look*
We had bunnies all while I grew up...and cats..and dogs...and a few snakes here and there...and an iguana once ---------- Post added 07-10-2015 at 01:19 PM ---------- I think perhaps it means there are users in the forum. |
There are really users consistently in all the forums but two? Because it's been like that since I noticed it and doesn't change except the book forum randomly blipped to have a dot earlier.
I've never had anything but fish and cats. |
*shrug* That's just a quick guess. I bet Linny would know for sure. Linnea:
Oooh fish. Those too. Even tropical ones now like nemo...and nemo's cousins..... I feel like we had most pets that one could have aside from ferrets and guinea pigs. But, I used to have hamsters. |
yes, someone answer my question! I figure it has something to do with activity, but it can't be as simple as 'viewing now' because then it wouldn't be consistent.
My friends had guinea pigs. They're neat, but I don't know how much I like small mammal like that. |
i don't understand the question...?
|
The icons on the forum page like the little crown has a red dot on the right side but I don't know what it means.
|
oh! those are just little flags to let you know there is something new posted in that particular forum. if you go in and check out the bolded ones and then go back out to the forum page you'll see that it's gone!
---------- Post added 07-10-2015 at 09:50 PM ---------- does that answer the question, my dear? |
I see. I guess that just goes to show that we have two forums that no one ever posts in.
|
Speaking of rabbits, our neighbours out the back have some :) And one night a couple of years ago, one of them got loose, so my ex and I had to go out and find the poor thing and take it back. It took a bit of doing, but we eventually managed to get it back to its hutch safely, so all was well. I was worried it might run out on to the road and get hit by a car, but between the two of us, we managed to avert a complete crisis.
|
Ahhhh, that makes sense Linny.
Nice work Mistress! Man...if a rabbit got loose here, cars are the last things I'd worry about......hawks, coyotes, foxes, owls....Those are my first concern. When we still had our bunny, a bear tried to get at him one spring. He did manage to rip off his waterbottle and chew on that for a while. |
I live in Australia, so we don't have to contend with too many of those, thankfully! Though I do worry about cats, both ours and any strays wandering around the place. Speaking of, we haven't seen or heard any strays for a while. That's a good thing. Less fights for our two wandering kitties to get into!
|
I would think if a bunny got out, I'd never expect to see it again. I don't think they return home like a dog or cat.
|
Depends, Kat. Bunnies can be trained pretty easy. But I imagine more often than not they just bunny hop off and that's that.
Ooooh. Yeah. No, we lost one of our cats to coyotes, Mistress. If I live in the woods (like I do) I would only get indoor cats. So the only issue is like, other cats then? |
There is a strong call to the wild eh?
I definitely don't have to worry about the wildlife. |
I have a strong call to the wild! *bunny hops into the distance*
|
bye woody! *waves* Be free!
|
Feral cats, mainly. I don't think we get bothered too much by dogs, but the odd one does get loose and cause a bit of a kerfuffle. But we haven't had that happen in a while, so we're all good :) It's just the feral cats we have to worry about,, because they're generally unvaccinated, and if they bite or scratch one of our cats, then our guys get sick :( We lost one of our cats that way, but it was a bloody dog that bit him, and the injuries were just so severe that we had to make the very painful decision to put him to sleep, as he would've been in too much pain otherwise. The true tragedy was the fact that he was only 2 years old at the time, so that made it even harder. But there wasn't much else we could really do for him, and the vet did say that the kindest thing we could do would be to send him over the Rainbow Bridge. But he's not suffering anymore, and that's the really important thing :)
