We were going to get
the one my aunt gave me fixed but the part that needed to be fixed costs $400-700 and some other parts and screws were missing so we decided to just get a new one. But I have to do homework before I can use my sewing machine.. |
Yes that makes sense to buy a new sewing machine instead of fixing the old one if it is smarter to do in terms of the cost

It's fabric that was my uncle's mother. My aunt has tons of it and gave me some.
I am not going to make something out of it. I will just be practicing with this fabric. Maybe make a pin cushion. Some of the design on the fabric are just kind of ugly or not very soft at all. Kind of scratchy even. Yup. Turn one in, get another back and get started on a new one. |
I'm hoping to get a sewing machine soon and practice making things too, Fuu. What will you be making? I'm gonna try to learn how to make baby clothes and things like rompers and bibs :)

I am going to be making
two or maybe 4 baby blankets for two of my cousins as their wives are both pregnant plus a kitchen set like napkin/place mat set+Pot holders+Oven mits as another cousin got engaged. All of these cousins are brothers. [lol] Probably will also make my aunt something. But for now I am using the fabric I have to practice using the machine. |
Oh cool! That's a lot of cousins. I only have one cousin. I wanna make Olivia a blanket out of some of her old clothes.. Kind of patch work like a quilt. It'd be like an ongoing project and I'd add to it more and more over time.. Then it would kind of be a keepsake for when shes older.

They are really the only cousins I care about making things for. |

Aw I'm very sorry to hear that your mom had a stroke :( I mean, of course maybe playing the pity card isn't always the best thing to do, but strokes are a pretty serious thing. At least, in my opinion. I had family members who passed away after series of strokes.

She always whips it out and goes like "Yeah..the poor girls..their mom had stroke." she makes it sound
like it just happened. it's been close to 10 years. I don't think it needs to be pulled out to excuse us from everything. She even told my Instructor when we were sick. smh My mom has MS and she had a stroke. |
Aww well I am not sure, but it does sound like your grandma is concerned for you and your mother's well-being to extent, while also wanting others to treat you better (I guess that is the pity card you were referring to). but I guess in some situations it is not as relevant to mention something like that
