it was a pain for sure and thank you :) i was able to get it in by the deadline. my class is called 'testing, measurements, and assessments' and basically it's all about psychological testings, the instruments, why we use them, the ethics around them, scoring blah de blah blaaaah. sooo this paper was about a psychological test i picked (the ages and stages questionnaire, it helps figure out if kids have an autism spectrum disorder earlier to help get what they need earlier) and i had to talk about the hits, misses, false negatives and false positives, when scoring this test, what validity looks like from each of those four i just mentioned, also the constructs defined within those four i just mentioned, and really it was a lot of regurgitation because it had to be a set amount of pages lol

That sounds like a pretty neat paper though. At least I know what you're talking about. Regurgitation is mostly how I write my papers. I can never make them long enough.

i'm glad i was able to convey it with some semblance of sense lol and how well do you do on your regurgitated papers, kat? i'm a bit nervous about this one. usually i know more about what i'm talking about and actually have to cut it back so i'm leary

I don't really know. :/ I don't ever feel good about my papers, but I rarely do awful grade wise. Kinda been a while for me though. I'm sure you'll be fine.

that kind of makes me feel better about it, that you don't feel you do well either but don't do so bad. that's like me too

I think it's hard to know if you did what the teacher wanted until you get the paper back.

yes she said during class they'd be all graded by sunday. man, that class was brutal though. someone made a comment about thanking me for putting out the pages to read because three different people had posted asking what pages for the reading this week when the professor had answered twice before AND it's posted on the week's work section we alllll have. the professor misunderstood that other person's comment about me and seemed super offended. it was really odd lol i didn't say anything and let that other person talk, but man, a little awkward

ok i took nighttime sleepies sooo i'm off to bed. man i am so excited it's almost the weekend. i need some time off

Online classes are the worst. I've decided. It's easy to misunderstand (everything) and finding the motivation to do the work when you're not in a classroom setting is hard. I've been doing all my assignments last minute. Luckily, I'm a great procrastinator...but still.

i am able to manage the assignments easy enough, like i get out what i need to do for the week and then break it down to small chunks per day. it's only hard, as it was this last time, because i had no idea what i was writing about lol i asked someone i work with what she thought (she is a former counselor and now a special education teacher) and she was able to point me in a direction... we both aren't sure if it was a right direction, but she also noticed how vague it was and had a hard time grasping it.

Linny you do classes the smart way then...unlike myself ;) I have great discipline when I'm in a classroom setting. But not when shiny things distract me at home.

Hey Salvete. I'm taking a few creative writing workshop classes. Just to get the juices flowing.

i look at online classes almost the same as regular classes so it's not hard to organize. although, i am guilty of procrastination too, but in all fairness, i did it more when it wasn't online

Are those writing workshops working out for you, woody?

I only ever did one online class before these...and it was when I was at SVC, Linny.....with Scotty O. I apologized to him for my lack of interest, but to be fair, the lit crit books sucked, and he admitted that in an email back....and I still got a good grade ;)

I'm super feeling spring. I need the energy I get from all the growing things and nice weather. <3

They're working out alright, Kat. I just lack motivation sometimes. I am learning a bit with the lectures and I like pushing myself to write...but I haaaaaaaaaaaaate the feedback aspect with peer reviews. I push myself to leave nice constructive crit, but most people don't bother. :( But, I've had a few ideas to flesh out stories.

Really? That's not a good group then if you hate peer reviews so much. I miss that the most. Sure sometimes it's useless, but hearing some kind of opinion is better than none. You don't have to agree with what they say, just consider it.

yea that's pretty lucky, woodster. i don't think i ever took a scotty o class and i definitely didn't take any online classes during my undergrad. my first grad class was my first online class. fortunately my professor, dr. p, was really helpful and patient... althoughhhhhh i was slightly irritated at how patient she was in regards to taking a whole session at about the 7th week (out of 10 total) to go over APA formatting and i know it pretty well so i was rather annoyed -_-
