I was going to, because I thought there would be an option like "This lady did not help at all, like seriously, the opposite of helpful. If she were a sign she'd be the one that was supposed to warn the Titanic about the iceburgs. Horrible." But there isn't.

Linnea 08-26-2016 01:42 AM

maybe you could add that into the suggestion box

Precarious Fool 08-26-2016 01:45 AM

Oh, now you want me to do your work for you?!

Linnea 08-26-2016 01:47 AM

hey man, it's not my suggestion!

Precarious Fool 08-26-2016 01:50 AM

It could be. You have more sway!

Linnea 08-27-2016 03:23 AM

this might be true lol

hey... should we say something about the youtube parties that are taking place in p llama's digs? the sprinkleteers are familiar with such things and might like to join [yes]

zeapear 08-27-2016 05:21 AM

Woo, Summer event! Hey everyone; thought I'd drop by since I'll probably be more active this week, haha.

How's everyone going?

Linnea 08-27-2016 05:24 AM

i knew i'd see a wild zeapear during the event! hi! [glomp]

zeapear 08-27-2016 05:25 AM

Haha, I'm very predictable. [lol] Hello Linn! I see that you're hosting the fashion contest again this event' good luck with that![
Any plans for a Sprinkles thread?

Linnea 08-27-2016 05:32 AM

ah yes, well can't have an event with no avatar contest [yes]

and no sprinkles thread officially but kitteh/foolio (who i am pretty sure you know already as she hung around with us back in the day too) is doing a sort of homage to sprinkles by hosting youtube parties [yes] the event thread link is here: http://www.menewsha.com/forum/commun...stop-gear.html

zeapear 08-27-2016 05:34 AM

Too true, Linn! Thanks for doing you civic duty so selflessly. [lol]

Ah, cool! I might move over to there then; hopefully it'll be more active!

Linnea 08-27-2016 05:37 AM

i think it's a bit calm around because of the time over here and foolio is gone camping for the night, but i'm sure she'll be posting more when she gets back. it's almost 3am here [gonk] i need to sleep too but i dunt wannnna

zeapear 08-27-2016 05:41 AM

Oh goodness, I didn't even realise how late it was for everyone else, haha! Silly timezones; makes it real hard to chat.

You should probably go to bed, but I'm one to talk. :P

Kirin Rosenbaum 08-27-2016 10:40 AM

I figure it's ridiculously early morning for everyone else, but maybe I'll get lucky and someone will be online! How's everyone doing? I have a mid-semester Psych exam tomorrow which I've just finished studying for, and now I'm just getting ready for bed.

Kirin Rosenbaum 08-28-2016 12:15 PM

I am here till I head to church.

have a nice time at church!

Kirin Rosenbaum 08-28-2016 06:56 PM

I enjoyed it.

Linnea 08-28-2016 07:08 PM

i went every now and again when i was younger but i never really fully committed to one belief. i feel like i've missed out on a certain level of faith that has carried over into other aspects of my life. that's probably tmi [lol] but i've had a decent dosage of coffee and i'm feeling chatty :P

Kirin Rosenbaum 08-28-2016 07:10 PM

I don't feel it's TMI. But that could just be me. My dad is a retired United Methodist minister. So it's always been a part of my life.

Linnea 08-28-2016 07:24 PM

some people get a bit touchy when it comes to religion and i didn't want to open a can of worms as i didn't know where you stand. thanks for chatting about it with an open mind [yes] almost all my family on my mom's side are jehovah witnesses and don't even get me started on the close mindedness i feel just radiate off them when i've talked about other religions. it's exhausting.

one of my aunts on my dad's side was a methodist and when she passed my cousin, my aunt's eldest daughter, joined the same parish (is that what you call a local affiliation?, i'm not up to par with my religious vocabulary)

Kirin Rosenbaum 08-28-2016 07:26 PM

Oh the Jehovah's Witnesses are a whole can of worms I won't share my opinion on.

---------- Post added 08-28-2016 at 03:26 PM ----------

I don't think there is a specific name. Parish I don't think is it. Congregation would work.

Linnea 08-28-2016 07:59 PM

yea i think parish refers to a particular religion but congregation works! so yea, congregation

one of my other cousins who has been a jw for almost as long as she has been alive always posts the most terrible things on fb and i want to slap her through the screen. things like, "i can't want for the new system" which basically means she can't wait for everyone to die from an apocalyptic sort of rebirth (to paraphrase) and only the jw's are worthy of living forever on an earth that is at peace all over and with all creatures. sounds great if you're already a jw but if you aren't well then you are going to hell.

this was a post from her regarding someone who wanted to leave the religion
Quote:

Really kills me and frustrates me when people leave the truth. There's so much proof these are the last days. Sad to say but they are selfish to leave. They not only hurt family and friends but Jehovah......
wow. that's all i can say

zeapear 08-29-2016 01:39 AM

Blech, my exam starts in an hour and a half. Wish me luck everyone!

Linnea: Yeah, I do seem to remember you saying that you were doing psych! You enjoying it? I'm in my second semester right now and I'm taking two psych courses this half of the year; we're covering the brain right now so I've got a boatload of anatomical terms to remember.

Also, it's funny that you guys are talking about church right now! When I opened up this thread I was actually at my weekly on-campus bible study. [lol] I was one of five people that showed up today; everyone else was working, sick, or preparing for exams.
