Hey guys! I just got back from uni, and I was the only one even remotely dressed up for Halloween, haha. To be fair, it isn't evening yet...

How is everyone?

That's okay. I ended up alone at work as well until one of the guys working the closing shift came in. No one else though.

I'm tired today and I work at 5am tomorrow. You?

I did a pretty simple witch costume, complete with stripy red and black socks and a bodice dress. Did you dress up?

ah gotcha, i just know that there are some lucky people out there who get to have some down time for such things. my kid was off meds or something today, he was a freakin blazing ball of energy and aggression. i also woke up late (my alarm didn't go off ) so i didn't have time to grab food and i was soooo hungry and no break today either because he didn't want to go see the providers he was supposed to so i couldn't bounce out for some food like i was hoping. i swear to god, if he is this way tomorrow i'm going to be verruh grumpeh!
although, i did go buy a real alarm clock today because this is twice in a week that my phone alarm didn't make sounds. (that was a ramble, phew!, i just busted out a weeks worth of work and had my class in about 4 hours, i'm jazzed right up)

ooooo i like stripey red and black socks! it's very Simi! you can see she has the red and black stripies on in the little picture!

oh and i was supposed to be a dinosaur but i didn't end up going out after all. i hadn't been feeling well and then i just kind of flaked on my friend. i don't feel too bad though because she had like 6 other friends, who i didn't know and i never drink enough booze for proper social lubrication, so anyways, yea... i still have the stuff to make the dinosaur outfit and i think i will still make it, perhaps wear it when i'm feeling a bit dinosaury *shrugs* did your friends end up dressing up too? like when it wasn't early :P

Ooh yeah, my costume was actually a little bit like that! Except, my bodice dress was a little too short and I felt a little uncomfortable wearing it, so I wore a longer black/grey striped skirt under it like a petticoat, which ended up looking pretty cool actually.

Ooh, that dinosaur costume sounds cool! And I'm sorry you weren't feeling up to going out; sometimes it's better to just stay home though, so good on you. :) I had one friend do a closet cosplay of a science officer from Star Trek, which involved her wearing black pants, a blue long sleeved shirt and an old Star Fleet pin she had lying around, and she was one of the people in my study group. Another friend, who I didn't see in person but saw over Snapchat, went as Elphaba from Wicked, complete with green skin.
We actually had one group of trick-or-treaters this year, which was unusual. However, they were kind of disappointing as it was a group of, like, 8 14-year-olds and one was in costume. Like, how hard is it to get a mask, or even just wear something remotely spooky, y'know? But anyway. I ended up spending Halloween evening/night watching slightly Halloween related movies with my mum and sister, and then just going to bed.

elphie!? that's awesome! i love me some wicked!

and i feel the same way about trick or treaters, like, you have to at least try a little bit! i remember i was giving candy out at my aunts one year and these two girls came to the door as the wicked witch and dorothy and i thought it was so clever that i gave them extra candy lol my friend and i went all out every halloween right up until we were seniors in high school. one year we even donned extensive KISS face makeup and crazy huge hairspray/black spray hair and the adults loved it lol they would call the other people in the house to come see us haha
which reminds me, my friend from college posted on fb that two teenage boys came to her door tonight dressed up as harry and lloyd complete with matching top hats and canes. she said she dumped the whole bowl in their bags haha see, it's all about the effort!

but watching halloweeny movies is good! i had a class not that i'd go trick or treating anyways and i caught up on UP and school work too!

Yeah, I actually saw Wicked for the first time with said friend (also her first time) only about a month ago! It was absolutely fantastic; I'm super glad I finally managed to see it.

And yeah; I get that Australia isn't really a prime Halloween country, but they really could have put a little effort into what they were wearing. Also, those costumes all sound awesome! I wish Halloween was bigger over here; I'd love to be able to dress up properly and go trick-or-treating with friends. On a slightly related note to KISS, I can't hear the song 'New York Groove' without wanting to both dance and cry?? Like, I have the weirdest reaction to that song. Still love it, though.
I must confess: I haven't actually seen Dumb and Dumber. Those costumes sound good, though!

Yeah, I did enjoy watching the movies, it was just that the whole ordeal wasn't really much different to any other given night in my family. Good luck with classes, btw!

EDIT: Also, sorry for the super late reply!! I got caught up with study and housework. :(

I was pretty sad I couldn't keep wearing the ears every day. I think they would make work better.

Ah, I think I've seen those costumes before!

New York Groove isn't technically KISS, I think it's from the main dude's solo career or something, but it's a pretty fantastic song. A real banger, if you will. Haha, I actually was in the states for a few weeks at the beginning of the year for the first time, but sadly I wasn't anywhere near Maine. It would be so cool to actually hang with you guys, though!
