Two exams down, two to go!!
How is everyone? I've pretty much started my break now, but I won't be 100% free until next Friday. So close yet so far! Also, any of you guys watch Twin Peaks? I don't have anyone to talk to about the new season. [lol] |
You got this Zeap! Then you can relax on your break! Got any plans?
I've not seen the new season. The kid I work with has and he's been showing me random clips though. He's a David Lynch fanboy. |

Aw man! that sucks that it broke! [gonk] I had trouble getting mine up to temp today so I might need a new heating element :/ But yeah! There's always other ways to smoke when you are in a pinch! [yes] I smell like smoke after cooking today XD ---------- Post added 06-10-2017 at 05:34 PM ---------- Quote:
I know of the show but I've not seen it. is it good? |
Woody: Thanks! And I don't really have any plans thus far; I'll probably just chill at home, catch up on shows and just relax. [yes]
And that kid sounds like me if I'm being honest; I'm a little bit obsessed. [lol] Carn: Yeah, the exam period's a few weeks long, and I had two at the beginning and two at the very end, meaning that it really stretches out. Ah, the #unilyf. While I would say that the show is 'good' it's certainly not for everyone. It's really, really weird a lot of the time, and it doesn't always make the most sense on a surface level. If you've seen any of David Lynch's other works you'll know what I mean. |

I'm at work so I can't chat much but I got a ping from woodster about my meal subscription and yes, I am still doing it but I don't do it every week. I have to at least really like 2 of the meals before I'll dish out the money for the week. I made some salmon dill burgers last night. Then I added some small cucumbers marinated in garlic, sugar, white wine vinegar and olive oil. Gosh, those were so perfect on top! [drool] had a little seasoned sour cream and a side of potatoes wedges. Mmmmmm.
Also, zeap looks so pretty! ---------- Post added 06-12-2017 at 04:33 AM ---------- And carn is Bruce lee! Love it! |
*thread huggles Kirin back*
Carn! Smoke me some goodies! I made chicken and waffles on Sunday as a brunch for Zack and I.Oh yeah.....such a good idea. Hah. Have you seen any Lynch movies then Zeap? And what shows are you catching up on? I'm behind by a few seasons on fluff like Supernatural. Also relaxing sounds amazing. It's been in the 90s here this week and all I wanna do is sit in front of the a/c. That sounds glorious Linny. I love quick pickling! I do that with carrots a lot. Just toss them in the fridge after chopping them up with sugar, salt, and rice wine vinegar. |
Aw, thanks Linn! I'm loving the colours in your own avi. [heart]
Woody: Yes and no to having seen his movies. [lol] I've seen Blue Velvet all the way through, and then for his other movies I always seem to get half-way through and then stop for whatever reason. I've done that with Eraserhead, Mulholland Drive, and Inland Empire. It's a bad habit. I've obviously also watched Fire Walk With Me, but I feel that goes without saying with the Twin Peaks obsession. [lol] I even visited the town where it's filmed last year when I visited the states! (North Bend) At the moment I'm watching Community for the first time and enjoying it, and I also plan to watch more Star Trek in general and other things like that. I think I'm up to date with most shows that I actually watch; it's just a matter of getting into the other shows on my list. And man, the weather here has been freezing. Today was nice, though; I went in to uni to study for a psych exam with friends, and after an hour we kind of realised we were going nowhere so we went to the creek and fed birds instead. [lol] |
Hello thread.

Mulholland Drive is worth a watch. Eraserhead is.....interesting. I've seen it, but it wasn't my favorite thing ever. As you can contest it was interesting. I've never seen Fire Walk With Me. Would you recommend it? ALSO, you were in @Carn'a'Carn; 's neck of the woods! I was over in Oregon, but I didn't get to Bend. Closest to Bend was Hood River. Community is fun! The first few seasons especially. And Star Trek! Man. You are a gal after my own heart. Zach and I just rewatched all of Next Generation. He's an original Star Trek fan and I am a Next Gen and Voyager fan. Hey, feeding the birds is totally productive! Clears the mind! I'll take that cold over the heat. I am not built for hot weather. [gonk] I've had to do a lot of relaxing mind clearing stuff lately. So we just hung around in the air conditioned room and watched shows and such instead of venturing out last weekend. I have a busy month of weddings and baby showers. But I need to button down and get to making more of my own wedding stuff! October is coming! dun dun dun [rofl] Hey Kirin! What cho up to? |

Yeah, we were in Seattle visiting my brother so we took a small trip down to North Bend and had dinner at Twede's Cafe, which is where they film the Double R scenes. It was really surreal, and I was pretty out of it from excitement. [lol] I'm enjoying Community so far! I think the last episode I saw was the KFC Spaceship one? And yeah, I'm always a sucker for 'Trek. [lol] I'm a Next Gen fan, but I've been (very slowly) working my way through the original series, and then I plan to rewatch Next Gen (I don't remember all too much of it to be honest) and then move on to the later series. I have a friend who's a massive DS9 fan, so I look forward to getting there. I just love how optimistic about the future Star Trek is?? Like, I just love the concept and everything so darn much. I wish I could be a medical officer in Starfleet!! And is Zach your fiancé? I really enjoyed just chilling with the birds and watching them swim around and fight over food. It was really nice. And yeah, I'm also much more of a fan of cold; with cold you can at least bundle up! With heat you just have to suffer. And it's good that you're taking time to relax; it sounds like things are pretty hectic for you at the moment. I wish you luck with the wedding! It's so exciting!! |
I love the scene with the ear. He was so calm. Definitely a good set up for his character and his numbness/ nonchalant ways. He craved the excitement and the dark underbelly. The kid I work with and I debate whether or not he'd end up corrupted or a detective in the end.
I saw Twin Peaks once upon a time. I'd need a refresher on it. Again, the kid I work with (I say kid, he's 19 now) is a huuuuge movie buff/critic. He's mostly bed bound thanks to his EDS, so focuses on music and movies as an outlet. He's made me watch a million various things. If you ever want any recommendations ;) That's wonderful! What a trip. I loved Seattle. I stayed with friends in the Capital Hill area right down the way from the Asian American Art Museum. I'd love to go back.I think my favorite parts of Washington were staying in Seattle, Mt. St. Helens, and popping over the border from Oregon (my brother lived at the mouth of the Columbia River) to go to the beaches and such there. It took us a few months, but we rewatched all of Next Gen at night. There were a TON of episodes I didn't not recall from when I watched as a kid. I'd probably be a science officer or be the new ships counselor or something. ;) I keep getting Zach (yeah, my fiance guy face) red shirt stuff from the original series as a joke. He's basically got a cosplay outfit now cause of a hoodie I found him...and he has a tricorder already. Just needs the right pants and boots. XD https://scontent-ort2-2.xx.fbcdn.net...68&oe=599B7655 Us being cute or something at a friend's wedding Yes! You can always add layers...but you can't rip off your skin. |
Just trying to survive.

Haha, I'm the same age as the 'kid' you work with! It sounds like we'd get along well, to be honest. [lol] Does he have any favourites? How were the beaches? In my mind they'd just be cold and grey, but I guess that's because I visited the Pacific Northwest during the Winter and I'm used to Australia's sun and sand. That sounds like a really nice bonding experience! I haven't seen TNG since grade 6, so I feel I'd be in the same boat with only half remembering a lot of it. You guys are adorable! [heart] I send my love to you guys! |

Just trying to survive Kirin? I hear yah. What's gettin' you down?
Oh I agree. I made a big argument for him siding with good/becoming a detective. He's definitely intrigued and reeled in by that darkness. But, his fascination can be satiated by investigated, etc. He loves Alejandro Jodorowsky. I....do not. But he's kinda polarizing. I feel like he is too pretentious and does things because he THINKS that's what should do to make "art." You know? It's not very organic or sincere to me. I roll my eyes whenever he brings up Holy Mountain. It's just not for me. It's our favorite back and forth about a movie. Hey, I just call him the kid, but he's like you. Mature and awesome. I just have to make sure he's got himself together and entertain him because he's mostly house/bed bound. He's JUST finishing up high school classes, since he's had to take just a few at a time with tutor from home. He's well beyond anything they can teach him, but, well...he has to go through the motions to get his diploma. I lived there during the fall/winter, but it was a particularly sunny winter. So the beaches were pretty awesome. Nothing I could swim in, cause the Pacific Ocean is so cold. But we enjoyed it. He lived right by Cape Disappointment (great name) where Louis and Clark found the Pacific Ocean and not the Northwest Passage. *hug hug hug* |
Woody: Yeah, 100% agree with your assessment of Jeffrey. [lol]
I haven't actually watched any of Alejandro Jodorowsky's movies, but I've heard of them. From what I know of them it doesn't really sound like my kind of thing, based a lot on what you've already said. It sounds like the 'kid' really has some interesting tastes, though! If it's not too intrusive may I ask what your job is that you work with him? :O |
hey you guys. i love ya. all of yas. [heart]
have a great day! |
