Hello there people~ I thought I'd step outside my usual threads and discover other hangouts and maybe make more friends [=3]

Welcome to the tea room.

McNugget 08-21-2013 07:17 PM

Thanks for the welcoming Kirin~

What kind of tea though? Cammomile? Jasmine? Jade? Pimpkin spice? [insane]

Hehe, yeah, I figure you get that a lot. Does it ever make you hungry looking at it?

lol nahhh.

zigbigadorlube 08-21-2013 07:24 PM

Hehe.

Zig is drinking Earl Grey at the moment.

McNugget 08-21-2013 07:28 PM

I'm not much of a fan of Earl Grey tea. It tastes too.... Dull to me. I prefer Jasmine and hibiscus the most~

zigbigadorlube 08-21-2013 07:32 PM

Oooh, hibiscus tea sounds really nice.

serena yuy 08-21-2013 07:37 PM

ooo it does. I might make some tea once I get out of the shower in a bit ^^

McNugget 08-21-2013 07:43 PM

I wish I could but all I got is this blend in my cabinet labelled as "sleepy time tea" and some white tea... At least I got tea though...right? [rofl]

zigbigadorlube 08-21-2013 07:49 PM

I have some sleepytime tea at home as well. I don't drink it very often though...

serena yuy 08-21-2013 08:54 PM

I have a bunch of teas ^^" I also have sleepytime that i use when I really really need it ^^"

zigbigadorlube 08-21-2013 10:24 PM

It doesn't seem to help me that much...

serena yuy 08-21-2013 10:51 PM

Sleepytime will usually help relax me so I can get to sleep a bit easier.

zigbigadorlube 08-21-2013 10:53 PM

I've tried some of the Vick's brand sleeping pills and they totally don't help. V_V I usually don't have trouble falling asleep but I wake up a lot in the middle of the night.

serena yuy 08-21-2013 11:36 PM

When I'm stressed or nervous over something, I have a problem with falling asleep. It's especially a problem during the semester for me.

zigbigadorlube 08-21-2013 11:43 PM

It's kind of weird how stress can affect you. I get tired enough to go to sleep, but then my mind refuses to stay dormant and I wake up. Other people's minds won't shut down enough to sleep in the first place but once they do fall asleep they don't really wake up. Or if you're really unlucky you have both problems at once. T_T

McNugget 08-22-2013 12:04 AM

Usually if I'm stressed I try to meditate to calm myself down. It's nothing like that weird mumbo jumbo stuff on TV where the people sitt crossed legged and go "oohhmm" though [lol]

zigbigadorlube 08-22-2013 12:15 AM

That's a good idea. I'm not sure I'd be good at it though. I tend to think about stuff too much.

McNugget 08-22-2013 12:35 AM

You don't always need to just "stop thinking", sometimes it just takes a little technique called "focus" [XD]
You want to know why sometimes people who meditate use pebbles and such? They try to keep their mind on nothing but the pebble [yes] it's a way to ease the mind and slowly get yourself to get rid of excess thoughts.

zigbigadorlube 08-22-2013 12:54 AM

Hm, that sounds like a good idea. I used to have this thing called a worry stone. It seems like it would be good for that.

serena yuy 08-22-2013 02:07 AM

I did some relaxation thing one year around bedtime after I finished homework and I almost dozed off doing it. ^^

mmm tea :D

Oh I just thought of this, who puts a "best by" date on honey? O.o

*sets out teas and treats of all sorts*

zigbigadorlube 08-22-2013 10:25 AM

All of the honey I've seen has a best by date. In the US most food items have to have one as per FDA regulations.

Kirin Rosenbaum 08-22-2013 01:37 PM

Yeah but honey you can eat past that date.

serena yuy 08-22-2013 03:17 PM

Kirin's right. You can eat honey after that date. To be honest, honey really doesn't need that best by date because it doesn't go bad. It just crystallizes which doesn't mean it's bad. It just means you have to heat it up to get it runny again :P

Kirin Rosenbaum 08-22-2013 04:03 PM

Exactly.

zigbigadorlube 08-22-2013 05:51 PM

There are a lot of foods that don't go bad as quickly as their best buy date says but legally it has to be there and companies would rather be on the safe than sorry side and get sued. ^^;
