You shall do fine. :) I spent most of last night talking to myself in a mirror practicing today's presentation. [lol] I don't mind doing presentations but they always give me butterflies. I have to stare through people and pretend like they're not there.
Well, I'll update you once it's done in about a week. It's called August Tuesday for now. I think that name will stay but I'm not sure, I'll see what the characters say. [lol] |
I'm hoping i'll do fine. I hate presentations. I get anxiety from it really badly. It's one thing that I have never liked in my life. Presentations are the worst.
I like the name. Catchy. I have my group work today for our film project. Sort of excited. Sort of not. Mostly because I have to walk halfway across campus to the my departments building. Which I dread. Then I have to walk back to my dorm after. Only downside of not living next to the building. I'll still deal with it next year since i'll be a few feet more farther away from it but I don't care. I'll deal with it. As I have been. Also for comparison to see the qaulity upgrade of my dorm life from my freshman year to sophomore year. Admire the change. Top is the dorm i'm in now and bottom is the one i'll be in next year. The dorm I have lived in this year: http://www.quandel.com/wp-content/up...ramp_small.jpg Dorm I will live in next year: http://capstoneoncampus.com/wp-conte...eights-366.jpg |
You will. I've never minded presentations too much so long as I've practiced. It's one of the few places where you can rehearse your words to a T and not worry about saying something stupid if you've practiced enough. I mean, like I said I still get butterflies but it doesn't bug me too bad.
Haha, I'm sorry but I've no pity for your walk. I drive 20 miles and then walk 20 minutes to get to class so consider yourself lucky. However, that's a beautiful dorm upgrade. I've stayed in both kinds of dorms before and there really is no comparison between the two. |
Elysium, you're avi does happy things to me :P
What do you and cole study at university? |
@Ea: I study film with a specialization in film production. It's a stressful degree to get and requires alot of patience to get stuff done. More than most.
@Elysium: Thanks for the good words. Luckily, my voice will be recorded and someone will run the powerpoint so it won't be so bad. I have no pity for your 20 mile drive where you probably park in a commuter lot that is far away from class which is why you have to walk 20 minutes to even get to class. So. Ha. And yes, it is quite an upgrade. Get my own room but with 3 other friends alongside two private bathrooms and a common room for us to chill in. |
@Cole Please call me east or eastyy. -----I feel your pain at the moment I study fine art and I'm currently doing film work.
|
@East: Fine art? What does that entail? Is that painting like some of my friends who as well as a mix of photography? Or drawing? I dunno.
And what film work exactly? I'm curious. |
@East: I study Liberal Arts and Psychology. And thank you, people like it for some reason. ^.^ I love your color combination.
@Cole: Ach, you'll do fine then. I like to run my own powerpoint, but if it works better for you the other way go for it. You're a cold heartless soul, Cole. [t2h] Wait, explain that again. You get your own private bedroom? That's very very nice. |
@Elysium --- what is liberal arts
@Cole --- Fine art is very similar to contemporary art. It can be anything. We have everything from painting to filmwork where sex and the city is edited down to only the moments that mention sex, to a fortune telling wheelie bin (the bin is awesome....its actually really comfy xD) my film work is about archiving, i'm usuing highly charged imagery that has been over looked by history. The individual film works are about revealing the images meaning slowly via fragmented text. |
@East: It's just a general major where you can take whatever courses you want, basically.
|
@Elysium: Well, i'm sure my friend who is making the power point also will probably run it. We just got our information together today and doing the audio recording this sunday.
I am not! :) You're a cold heartless...women thing! Basically, 4 single rooms with one being for each person in the suite, 2 private bathrooms, and a common room where we can lounge. It's the shit. @East: Wait, you're telling me...well...nevermind. All arts people are weird. It's just how we are. Asking for explanations behind things shouldn't be needed. That sounds quite awesome. Like amazingly awesome. Like awesome of awesome. |
Huh, that's different. So you don't have to speak in front of anyone live?
ACH, you caught me Cole. Whatever shall I do now? More heartless things I suppose. [lol] Mmm, as far as dorm living goes that definitely sounds like the shit to me. If I had to live in dorms that's how I'd do it. |
@Elysium: Well, it is for a film class. It's all about the presentation and not much else.
I knew it! You're a she devil! Short and evil! Maybe a little cute but definitely evil! I'm probably sharing one bathroom with my close friend on campus while my other two friends will probably share the other one. Still, it'll be nice to have a non-communal bathroom for once. |
Oh for Pete's sake I'm not short you stinker. XD A she-devil maybe, but not short. But usually I'm a nice she-devil, unless you do something to make me want to be a mean one. And you're only assuming I'm cute, I could look like the back side of a cow for all you know. [lol]
As long as your friend isn't a pig, anything is better than a communal bathroom. Even going out back and bathing in a lake would be better than a communal bathroom. |
Then you must be one fine cow. ;) xD
Nah, he's a cool dude. He's part stoner/part responsible filmmaker. He's funny and he's a little on the big side but he's definitely losing weight. Still, I don't judge the him. He's too awesome. He's one of my best friends on campus. Been friends with him almost since day one. I hang with him more than anyone else on campus. |
I'll take what I can get. [rofl]
I've never been one to judge by weight. Doesn't matter to me. Anyone that I feel comfortable around is fine by me no matter the shape, size, color, or sexuality. And lol at the stoner. Tell him if he moves to Colorado his habit can be legal. XD |
I worked so hard to compliment you after the implications of you being a cow. A cow. You have no idea of the effort, Elysium. Taking my compliments for granted. :P
There is so much truth in what you just said. Far too much. You must stop. Especially at the weed part in Colorado. I know. I'm sure if I could find a decent job then i'd move to Colorado. I dunno if they have the market though and or the jobs. We shall see! |
Hahaha, I'm sorry. I had to. But seriously, you could be talking to a cow for all you know.
Hey, it does take a lot for me to feel comfortable around someone but if I do I don't care what they look like. I don't partake of the weed, but I'm happy it was legalized. It was stupid as hell that it was ever illegal. I would much rather know a stoner than an alcoholic...although I'd kill them if they smoked around me. |
Putting doubts in my mind. It doesn't work like that. I have a really good intuition here. One plus of being who I am. Don't play tricks on me, women.
You had me at "hey". :P xD Stoners are chill though. Majority I know are rather smart. Excluding most of my floor but that's for another time. |
*moos*
I've met good and bad stoners, just like everything else. I don't think I'd ever smoke pot myself, but I can tell you if I was ever offered a pot brownie I'd eat it. XD |
*smacks you playfully* You. Are. Not. A. Cow.
You? A pot brownie? Hahaha. ' Hahahahaa. Hahahahahahaha. |
@Cole I can show you some of my wip's if you like, they're very basic film wise, I only have movie maker and this is my first forray in to video work so I'm keeping it simple, I think the simplicity holds power though.
What film works are you working on. (I warn you though they are of a potentially upsetting nature) Haha my best mate at uni is the one working with the wheelie bin, I love his work, its refreshing and different, liket of people on my course are trying to hard to be serious and deep, and he just comes along like, screw this, I want to make people laugh with my work and express the childlike nature of imagination. It's kinda awesome and I think he's brave for doing so. @elysium ah I see, its a term I always hear, but i've never been sure of what it is >.< What year of uni are you in? I'm just finishing my second. |
I would though! I'd make sure I was somewhere safe, but I'd stock up on cheetos and junk food and savor every bite of that pot brownie.
---------- Post added 05-01-2014 at 03:14 PM ---------- @East: I'm a senior now. Going to aim for graduating next spring. And yeah, it's the major for people who want to do a little bit of everything. I've always been a bit of a jack of all trades. |
@elysium is that second year? Because I'll graduate next year and thats what I am. Though it depends on the length of the course....sorry i'm from the uk and we just go by years >.<
|
@East: Sure! I'd love to see the WIPs. And honestly, i've seen alot of fucked up films as of this year. Nothing will surprise me anymore. Oh, and MM? Really? Well, I guess that's a start but once you get more knowledgable then I recommend you try to learn Adobe Premiere.
I try to keep my imagination intact even if it means being a little childlike. It's so that I can keep a part of the limitless world of imagination that a child has because without it then where will my ideas come from? You need an imagination to get into the arts. You can't get into anything creative without it. @Elysium: Cheetos? What kind of Cheetos? Flaming Hots? Flaming Hot Cheetos are the only Cheetos to me. |
