I've never had one, ever. :/ The one guy I fell in love with (my best friend in High School) is Gay. And he and his partner are FREAKING adorable together! [love]

I worked my summer out of HS at a local rafting shop that sold raft gear and rented boats and stuff, then the next summer I worked at a cafe, and then the following three summers I worked as a nanny for a friend's two kids. I didn't work last summer, and I'm considering going back to work at the cafe that I worked at my second summer out of HS - it's under new management. Not that I had any real issues with the old management, but people say the new guy is much better than the old guy? Hmmm...

ElysiumFate 05-15-2014 02:06 AM

If that's what you've got to do, it's what you've got to do.

You can do it. Anyone who says they've got their shit together in college is a liar.

I don't believe jealous Mr.Sassypantses should be able to tell short people what to do.

@Cloud: Haha, awh, that sucks. Usually when I find myself attracted to someone they turn out to be gay. XD But I'm glad he's got a nice partner now.

Sounds good to me. I did odd jobs like house sitting the times I've worked. I'd like a more normal job so that I can be around people my age.

APBCole 05-15-2014 02:09 AM

@Ely: Inspiration words from a smokin brunette. My life is nearing completion.

That's true. I'm not the only horror story. I heard my floormates of last year having issues as well.

You're short and you commute to college. You're...something words words something.

It's time I head to bed. I'm tired. Have lots of life related stresses this summer. Will be my second scariest summer of my life due to the chaotic thing called reality.

CloudDreamer 05-15-2014 02:10 AM

Yeah, I am happy for him, and that he doesn't have to hide who he is -he's in the Marines. [yes]

I like house sitting, it's easy and you get to stay somewhere and get time to yourself. I've done a bit of house/pet sitting as well, but more just for friends for like a weekend or so. [yes]

ElysiumFate 05-15-2014 02:14 AM

@Cole: You're 20. your life is not nearly complete just because I spouted some fortune cookie advice. XD

Yeah, and trust me, your life is not a horror story in comparison to most people.

Your sarcasm has gotten lazy. [t2h]

Goodnight.

@Cloud: Yeah, that's nice they changed that around. If you're going to pledge to die for your country you should be able to be whatever sexuality you please.

The house sitting I've done has paid well, too. It's not only an easy job so long as you don't set the house on fire, but you get bank when they're back.

CloudDreamer 05-15-2014 02:16 AM

Oh, I SO agree!! [yes] Him and his boy. :] Both of them are Marines. [yes] [he's the shorter one]

That is nice! [yes] Oh, totally!! I agree, yeah!! [yes] Pluses all around! [yes]

ElysiumFate 05-15-2014 02:20 AM

Awh, they look happy. [yes]

Ugh, I'm tired, but I know I'm not going to be able to fall asleep when I want to.

CloudDreamer 05-15-2014 02:22 AM

That was taken after his boy was gone for a month on a training mission.

Awww, why not? I hate that feeling of exhaustion but not being able to fall asleep. That's what happens to me all the time. D: Sleep! [illgetu]

serena yuy 05-15-2014 02:34 AM

Yeah. I got lucky in my dorms where it was around $5,000 a year so it wasn't too bad. They were comfortable and were exactly what I needed. I was social regardless of dorms or commuting. It just depended. I'm not too much of a social person but I did have cool people I'm still friends with now.

CloudDreamer 05-15-2014 02:36 AM

Yeah, that's around what mine are too - 5000 ish... I can't quite remember. I don't socialize really much - I get overwhelmed VERY easily, and I normally have to come right home and try to bring myself down just to make it through the next day. [yes]

ElysiumFate 05-15-2014 02:36 AM

@Cloud: I'm a nighthawk naturally, I guess. My body likes to stay up at night and sleep during the mornings. XP I hate it.

@Ser: I just can't be forced to be social. I like who I like. Doesn't depend if I'm forced to live with them in dorms or not.

CloudDreamer 05-15-2014 02:39 AM

Ely: I'm a nightowl when I'm at school, when my insomnia acts up. But there are times that sleep decides to come sooner than normal. That sucks. :( Do you have morning classes that force you to be up in the morning?

ElysiumFate 05-15-2014 02:51 AM

I have had morning classes before, yeah. Even they didn't fix my night owl nature. I've just always been that way. Morning classes tend to mean I just get less sleep. XP

Maybe I'm living on the wrong side of the world or something.

CloudDreamer 05-15-2014 02:57 AM

Morning classes don't work well with me. I can do them if I have to but I will do my best to not have to take morning classes. [yes] Haha, that could be it.

ElysiumFate 05-15-2014 02:59 AM

Yeah, I try my best to avoid them, too. I always end up late to them or sleeping through them so I try for afternoon classes anymore.

CloudDreamer 05-15-2014 03:03 AM

I've never slept through them before, but I'll be half asleep and won't really comprehend what's going on. xDD

ElysiumFate 05-15-2014 03:27 AM

The thing with morning classes for me is that I have to take into account that if a class is at 9:30 a.m. I will have to get up at 8:00 a.m. to get there on time. So morning classes are made even worse for me.

CloudDreamer 05-15-2014 03:50 AM

Mmmm, yeah! That is true! [yes] Very good point there! For me, even with afternoon classes, I try to leave like an hour early, just in case something comes up that I need to take care of, so I'm not late for class.

ElysiumFate 05-15-2014 03:53 AM

I'll leave an hour beforehand for most classes just because I have to so that I have 20 minutes to walk into the class. If it snows. Man. Leaving three hours beforehand might not be enough. XP

CloudDreamer 05-15-2014 03:54 AM

Snow is just evil and loves to make everything like 50 times harder than it should!
I used to live where it snowed all the time during the winter.

ElysiumFate 05-15-2014 03:56 AM

Ugh, my birthday is next week and I've been telling people for weeks what I wanted to do for it, but they keep talking about doing different things. I'd kinda rather stay home if I don't get to do what I want.

There are a lot of transplants in Colorado who just don't know how to drive on snow so it's scary. People FROM here don't know how to drive on snow half the time.

CloudDreamer 05-15-2014 04:02 AM

I don't like it when people don't listen to me about what I want to do for my birthday. It's a major bother! :( [hug] Hopefully they'll start listening to you.

Oh, yeah, I can imagine! It is not fun to drive in - I don't drive, but I have driven in it before. Definitely is something totally different than anything else. [yes]

ElysiumFate 05-15-2014 04:06 AM

I want to just go spend the day in the mountains but they keep talking about it being too cold. It's going to be 60 something...

I get what they're saying, but honestly I really don't want to do any of the other stuff they keep talking about. I'd rather camp out at home than go to the stuff they're recommending.

It's sorta like driving in a time travel vortex. [lol]

CloudDreamer 05-15-2014 04:09 AM

That sounds like a perfect birthday to me! [yes] Tell them it's your birthday, that is what y'all are doing, and if they think it's too cold, they don't have to come.

Exactly!! [yes] You should have the final say in what y'all do. For my birthday last year, my parents drove down - we went to a hotel down in Santa Monica - then on my birthday, we went to breakfast, then to the La Brea Tar Pits, then back to the hotel to the little aquarium at the pier, then back to the room to watch the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, and then to dinner. And then back to the room for cake. And the next day we checked out and they brought me back to school and they drove home. :) It was a good weekend. ^_^

Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Snow? [lol] [XD]

ElysiumFate 05-15-2014 04:15 AM

Yeah, I think I'll have to. I might wait another week to do it if that means it'll be warmer. They keep recommending we go to Denver (state capital, sorry if I'm insulting your intelligence) to do the zoo and/or aquarium and I just am not feeling it. The aquarium is always anticlimactic and I've seen it about five times. The zoo...is a zoo and I'm 22. Other than that, I freaking hate Denver. It could get blown off the face of Colorado and I'd think we were better for it.

Ooh, that sounds like a good birthday to me. [yes] I was in Disney World last year for my birthday. I'm not looking to top it, but I love the mountains so I'd rather be there.

Yes. Or Star Trek warp drive snow. [lol]
