Uni Students Library (College Aged Mene!) - NEW!
Hey Guys!~ I know there are a lot of University age kids on Mene, and I'm one of them. I'd love to meet with other people on the site currently in uni! Anything from, "How do you deal with your annoying roommate!" to, "Trying to find time to RP!" I think that we might have something in common with each other. Or hey, - just chillin'. :3 ...and now I'm off to class. Edit: It has become necessary to have a blacklist in this thread. The following people are no longer welcome to post in this thread. devcul: |
Hello Uni Students! [:)]
I'm sure everyone was having a lot much fun hanging out in the original Library but the thread got to be too large. As BlackCart29 has been MIA these past few months, I helped recreate her hangout so that the Library's regular visitors can continue chatting and new members can pop to join them. Should any of you want to look back on the old thread, you may find it here. Happy chatting! [:D] |
*leaves cookies and snacks* happy new threadie uni students! |
Hey guys good evening hows it going?

We have a new thread, so I just wanted to make sure everyone knew, because I miss chatting with you guys. I went back 5 pages in the old thread and pinged everyone who posted, with the addition of Glass since I kinda enjoy his company [ninja] and minus Otaku since she's already found her way here. o.o |
People are actually posting here? I didn't subscribe cause I thought people had given up on the old thread, or at least pretty much had done so.
I'm really stressed right now. I don't know if I can handle this semester I have. |
I actually noticed this new thread a while back, but somehow felt weird about being the potential first user to post. Thanks for the Ping `Kitami.
I've been rather stressed this semester too, I'm on placement and I'm there 3 full working days...that wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to catch public transport for over an hour to get there and home each way. It has been an interesting experience, as far as the work is. I've been allocated a desk with a computer and when I'm not going out meeting clients I'm usually there, in the office space. |
That was kinda my thought process, too. I don't like to be the first to post sometimes.
I'm taking one of the hardest classes at my university and I don't know if I can handle it with all my other courses at the same time. I may or may not drop it depending on how the next couple of weeks go. |
I noticed it a couple of days ago. But didn't get around to posting ^^" Been kind of busy with school and with babysitting a couple mornings a week
|
Well, maybe this is a good place to vent school stress.
Like I keep having trouble logging on to my online GED classes, which is pissing me off, because I set a deadline for the end of this year. And I'm trying to figure out what college I want to focus on getting into, but we're going to move at some point, but we don't know where, so EVERYTHING is all up in the air. Its frustrating. |
That sucks, Kitami. You might just have to wait till you move to plan where you go, or move to where you want to go would probably be best.
I'm just stressed and questioning my abilities because of the workload of this one class. I'm afraid it'll kill my other classes and I'm looking so far into the future. I'm literally thinking about quitting this degree because of it and going for a different major. |
I'll be the first to admit I'm not a smart academically gifted person, which is part of the reason I've been studying my degree part time.
Elysium, it sounds like you are worried that doing the work for that particular class is impacting on the other classes. Hopefully it'll work out, whatever you decide. |
Yeah I'm not so academic either, I've failed a couple of history courses, so my college career has gone downhill.
|
I ended up quitting the class. I'm going to talk to my counselor and try and take it on its own next semester. This is only the second time I've ever given up on a class because of a workload and it sucks because this is part of my major.
I'm tired of college. |
o.o glad you found something you could do. My friend is going through the same thing in one of my classes (the important one I'm retaking), she's contemplating dropping it because she regrets taking 4 classes this semester, is having some health issues, and she feels horrible if she drops financial aid will be on her ass and it'll get cut. I'm switching groups so I can jump over and help her the best I can so she doesn't have to drop.
|
I hope you can help her out! I don't know if I could've done it or not. I was not in a good place.
I wish it was just going to be over and I had stuck with it on the one hand, but on the other I still feel sick as shit from all the stuff I have left to do. |
Sounds like a mess Ser hopefully your friend can work things out, taking four classes can be really tedious.
|
Especially considering it's graduate work.
|
Yeah, 4 classes is ok as an undergrad, I actually handled 5 no problem. 4 grad classes is pretty much like a 40hr work week job feeling. 3 classes (what I'm taking) feels like around 32-35hr.
|
Hey guys so I didn't go to classes this semester but I quit working at my job so next semester i will be taking four courses (hopefully). how has this semester been for you?
|
On the home stretch now, almost finished my degree.
I have one more day on placement and then I have about a week or so to work on final assessments related to the placement. |
The way my school is testing me I can't handle more than four classes, tops. It's not even like I'm going to Stanford or Berkeley. I just have batshit professors.
|
This semester has been crappy as always. I can't seem to be able to have a semester where nothing happens. Something always has to happen. Last year was all of its stuff. This year I so far have had to deal with: I decided to be nice and help babysit for my cousin... She said this would only be a couple weeks and she'd get him into daycare... Wait 2 months- Nope... So I got behind because of being beat and tired after babysitting, I have a life and chose it over killing myself over school, and mike and I had a couple health scares that turned out to be nothing serious.
Though Now I'm behind and have given up in the catching up, now it's just don't get further behind. I also was faced with the whole challenge of trying 4 classes and that killed me last year... That and working at the same time. This year I'm not working and am doing 3 courses. |
Sorry guys, I subbed this thread and then forgot to come back D;
|
It's ok. I keep forgetting to be in here at times. But, being a grad student... Yeah ^^"
