It's a show that used to be on TV. Alongside another show I used to watch called Robot Wars.
These shows dealt with competitions with robots. Robots that went into a battle arena, had to kill other robots, and not die by the arena itself. It's good shit. Robots that spin, robots that grip, robots that shoot fire, etc. |

If I made a battle bot I'd end up just installing a small scale EMP electrical shock to mine that fries their motherboard.

The physics used in the making of most Battle Bots is kind of lame. You can almost know for sure that they'll be using a wedge shape and that's only good against top-heavy tall robots. Anything with a big enough hammer on top can kill a wedge-shaped bot pretty easily.
I would make one with a shotgun turret. Nobody makes their bots bulletproof. If that fails plan B is thermite. |
The thing with the new Battlebots is they're all restricted to one weight class. The older ones had different weight classes.
The weight class means they have to fit the certain weight but also have a practical robot. They can't do much because there has always been three types of robots in a rock, paper, scissors sort of thing. Flippers(with the intent to flip a robot and make sure it's disabled so they can do what they want), bladed robots(Typically either in front or the body itself rotates), and robots who have hammer like weapons to destroy the top of the robots in order to disable em. But most robots are a combination of two of the three types. Some are strictly one or the other. |
