Okay..

VeraDark 07-16-2014 10:44 AM

And of course, what happens anywhere outside Vegas ends up on Youtube. XD

Be glad there's a Las Vegas!

@My Friends; A crazy thing happened a few days ago... My Meneversary! I've been here 7 years. [:o]

I have nothing particularly constructive to add, nor are there any festivities, so just... there it is, I suppose. [lol]

Pistachio_Moustache 08-25-2014 11:56 PM

Happy Meneversary~!
//throws confetti

Cardinal Biggles 08-26-2014 12:11 AM

Change the thread title! We should get a party going in here :D

Cherry Who? 08-26-2014 12:21 AM

As you wish.

BellyButton 08-26-2014 12:57 AM

Happy meneversary, Cherrypoo!

happy mene-versary! you're a classy mene ladeh!

Cherry Who? 08-26-2014 01:06 AM

CAKE. [drool] Thank you both!

I must say your avatar is looking fab, Belly. The colors you've chosen for the hairstyle look really great - your hair looks so shiny! Picking colors is hard, I never do it if I don't have to. I just write down my color and use it for every avatar. I don't think I've changed my normal shade in well over a year. And when I do a different color for a particular avatar, I spend all of about 1 minute on it before throwing my hands up and walking away like, "IT'S GOOD ENOUGH."

Ferra 08-26-2014 01:23 AM

Has it been 7 years already??? I feel so old. [gonk]

Happy Mene-day, Cherry! [heart] Looking back to your early Mene-days, how would you say things have changed for you? I know I'm a very person now than I was back then.

BellyButton 08-26-2014 01:27 AM

@Cherry - I'm far too lazy to write down hair codes, and rather suck at making hair color match. I def do the "It's good enough!" thing too. xD Thank you for the compliment! ;D

Mythos 08-26-2014 02:28 AM

Happy Meneversary, Cherry! [hug]

Cherry Who? 08-26-2014 02:31 AM

Thank you! [heart]

Belly - Well, I suppose you stumbled on something good, then. It just looks so shiny, like you're straight out of a shampoo commercial! Real shiny, I mean, not like, metallic shiny.

Ferra - Well, I joined the site when I was 16, and now I'm 23. So a lot has definitely changed. A lot. Most of it, in fact. Everything? I mean, my (real) name is the same, so I suppose that hasn't changed. About everything else has. [lol] I... uh... I still like cats. There we go.

jellysundae 08-26-2014 02:51 AM

Woohoo, 7 years of Cherriness! Juicy! <3

~LONGCAT~ 08-26-2014 03:01 AM

Whooo! Happy Cherryversary!!! *high fives*

Cherry Who? 08-26-2014 03:32 AM

Mm... cherry juice... [drool] I had a cran-cherry juice mix once, that was very nice. Now I want some.

A tiny bit sad that a change of thread means I can't post Hasselhoff cakes, but these *are* pretty neat.

Cherry Who? 08-26-2014 03:39 AM

THOSE ARE ADORABLE OMG. [lol] Also, it is always an appropriate time for Hasselhoff cakes. Any time, any thread.

Side note, anyone have any opinions on my avatar? I really like the idea, but I just feel like it's missing something critical.

Explosions and tea. Looks quite lovely otherwise.

Likewise, I was 18 (I think?) which feels like a lifetime ago because of how much my life changed since then.

How are things going with school and life and stuff? [:D]

DariaMorgendorfer 08-26-2014 04:33 AM

WOOOHOOO! Happy 7th anniversary! [boogie]

Cherry Who? 08-26-2014 06:20 AM

Let's party!

Ferra - I think your life changes trump mine! [lol] Were you still in HS when you joined Mene?

Things are going... alright! A little scary! I graduate CC this December, and that's sort of terrifying me. After that I'm transferring to a university that's in the city. It's not far away - it's in spitting distance of my boyfriend's place - but it's far away enough that I can't reasonably commute there from home (it would be about an hour's drive if there was no traffic - there would be traffic, though). So I need to move to about the area my boyfriend lives in now. Moving out... scary. I'll have to get a new job, too, as my current job is a) too far away from there, b) barely above minimum wage and absolutely cannot support me if I'm just working part time (which I would be if I was going to uni...). So I've got to try to get an apartment, a roommate, and a new job all between the fall and spring semesters and that's so scary. Otherwise I'll have to wait to go to uni until next fall. That would certainly give me more time to iron things out, and I realize that's a much more likely course of action, but I'd like to get this all done as soon as possible. My immediate goal, however, is just to make it through this semester. [zzz] And look for jobs, too. My aunt works for the local power company in the office HQ, so I'm going to see if she can get me something.

Drop Bear 08-26-2014 07:34 AM

That deserves a very special party dance Cherry! Conga rats to you for making 7 years with us loonatics! [lol]

Technically, yes I was enrolled in high school, but I stopped attending any classes there when I was 16 since I entered a program called "Running Start" that let me attend CC full time for both high school and college credit. But I joined Mene before I went to Japan for the first time, so I'd say you're right that things have changed an awful lot.

Wow, a lot of changes! I know that fear and pressure. >__< I'm rooting for you! I know you want to get started right away, but I would recommend taking the extra time if you can. Once you start attending classes, it sucks your time and energy away so it helps to be as settled as possible before you start. I know plenty of people power through, but I know in my case the stress sometimes kicked my butt.

I also had a several-month gap between CC and university and started in the fall. It gave me some time to work and save money and since I started in fall with all of the freshmen from HS, there were a lot of services and orietation stuff set up to help us make the transition smoothly.

I'm sure you'll make things work, but don't worry about taking your time. [yes]
