Well, the teachers kind of gave them a lot of material in one go. So they all had basic enthalpy of reactions down, and q=mcdeltaT down fairly well. But calorimetry was a bit harder for them, and Hess's Law was just totally over their head. And many of them didn't understand when to use Kw and when to use anti log to find concentration from pH problems. It shows me exactly where the notes were spotty.

None of that would make sense to me either! I'm glad you're able to sort everything out and explain it to them.

Haha, sorry! I didn't mean to flood you with chemistry terms. Just suffice it to say that it was obvious they hadn't had a lot of time with the more complex stuff and none of them understood it. So I literally was answering the same questions over and over again. Luckily, I do enjoy teaching, it just gets tedious on days like that.

Are you tutoring chemistry and other sciences or humanities as well?

It's cool - I had to think a good bit about what you were talking about. The smattering of chemistry I had went way over my head. I am okay with things when I can figure out how they work together, but in a survey class, it's hard to really understand because most of the material just touches the surface.

I tutor math, science, and test prep mostly. I can do humanities, but there isn't a whole lot of demand for it. I do have a fourth grader that I work on reading and word recognition with. Her first language is Gujurati so she needs a lot of English work. And of course SAT prep requires reading, vocabulary, and writing work.

You can't pay me enough to do history or geography, though.

I can handle history and geography! I'm glad your fields of interest are in demand. Do you find yourself needing to brush up much or does curriculum change much from year to year?

Luckily, I'm really good at remembering on the fly. Occasionally I'll have to look up something specific like if you have to multiply something by the co efficient. But it's not bad at all. But I've been tutoring since eighth grade!

It is one of my few talents.
They're going well! Though it would be better if it wasn't finals time so half of the beginners don't show up.

That is if she does come in 4 days - we're not inducing unless it is absolutely necessary (and I've told my doctor this) so right now it's just 4 days till I'm not stuck in bed all the time. We're not totally sure when she'll come. We're assuming sooner rather than later given her attempt to try to come earlier.

I have a feeling that there is no way that Sophia will be born after her due date - we just don't know when her grand appearance will be yet. We'll just have to wait and see.

yeah my friendsmama was so ready for their apperance but she felt like you, the baby will appear when the baby is ready and really due dates are just an estimate.

i do not like to complain but this vision situation is getting the best of me lately. all of the appointments and all of the time and all of the pain has been for nothing and now i have to do it all over agian with different medication. i guess they start with the medicaation that will do the least amoutn of side effects and such. so i am one of the fifteen percent that the certain medicine will not work on. on the blessing part of all of this the meicine did work for my mother and she is only getting one injection ever four months now. she could not see out of her eye at all and now she is driving and sees beautifully. so there is still hope and i do feel so awful for being upset.

Oh sweety, I'm sorry. The last thing you need is other stuff on top of the eyes. But at least the eyes aren't hurting anymore. It'll take a while to get the blood cleared out. :/

I'm glad to hear you're not inducing. I feel like induction is becoming par for the course these days and somehow I don't think it's in the best interest of baby or mom.

Well, I'm glad that the medicine is working for your mom, but man, I think it would get me down too. I'm glad to hear that there is another medicine, and more options, but I wish that things were just working in your favor.
And complain all you want in here sweetie. That's what it's for.
