Cannibals eating clowns: "does this taste funny to you?"
|
Oh gosh that clown joke [rofl]

Yay, I got a good one in! |
The last party I went to, I accidentally got hit in the head with a drink. Thank goodness it was just a soft drink. [ninja]

If that wasn't too impolite to joke about... People are touchy sometimes about their head-pieces... Oh, here's one... a one-liner more than a pun, really... A dyslexic man walks into a bra. For something more complex, yet still unoriginal: Knock, Knock. Who's there? Dave. Dave who? Dave proceeds to break into tears as his grandmother's Alzheimers has progressed to the point where she can no longer remember him. |
[rofl] I especially find that dyslexic man joke hilarious.
It seems a bit mean to laugh at the last joke but it's too funny not to. [lol] |
It's only funny because it's the last thing you'd expect a joke to end with...
But it's still funny, I admit. |
[rofl] what's happening [insane]
|
More of our lousy jokes, pretty much.
Hello, Lexa, good to see you again. |
I kind of understand puns now [XD]
Nice to see you too, Vera~ I'm back from school! [:D] |
I remember the first time someone explained a foreign pun to me, it was something Japanese... two words that sounded alike, but had utterly different meanings, and were used as a pun.
I'm not sure, but I think it was "Itteyoshi", which means "you may go now", but when spelled differently (but still pronounced the same) means "go die somewhere" or something. So you could tell someone they were free to go while telling them to go die somewhere, and nobody could say anything, because it could have been either, but you used it in a polite manner. Many well-known English puns, are, in my opinion, either not very good puns, or are not actually puns at all but ... dare I say it, double entendres. (Google it, I'm tired...) |
Ohohohoho Japanese puns! They tend to be different from English puns~ Japanese puns tend to have the same syllables said twice, carrying a different meaning the second time yet still making a completely understandable sentence.
When delivered, Japanese puns are to be said with a straight face, and are often reacted to with an even straighter face, as no one finds them funny. In Japan, puns are often more funny to the teller than the receiver. Though, the most classic pun I can think of might make an English speaker laugh a little... イルカがいるか (Iruka ga iruka?) Is there a dolphin? http://www.tofugu.com/wp-content/upl...olphin11a1.jpg |
Oh I've heard that before! Why should you say it with a straight face? [insane]
And about Tamil puns.. All I know is that...I don't know. We even study Tamil puns in Tamil literature [ninja] [rofl] |
Just remember it's wordplay and it becomes fun.
Straight face? that's so nobody can tell if you're joking or not. On the listener's end, he keeps it straight so as not to offend by laughing at what may or may not have been a joke. And both know this same thing at the same time. It's like a secret out in the open that nobody will look at because everyone would catch them. It's called a double-bind, or catch-22. You make it impossible to respond correctly except to keep a straight face and wait to see if you get screamed at, lol. Puts them in a tight spot, which amuses their superior. And by laugh at, I don't mean because it's humorously funny, but the way I used to not be able to help laughing when my father said "shit". He was serious as all hell, but I couldn't stop laughing, and ermagerd, did he get MAD! |
I'll be leaving to go live in another island tomorrow. I've been pretty busy packing and stuff, which is why I haven't been online much. Actually, I think I'll pretty much be really busy once I'm on the other island. I'll visit Mene as much as I can if I have free time and if I'm not in a coma from exhaustion. xD But what's really breaking my heart is leaving my Bubu cat here with my family. http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/t/tears.gif I'll have trouble sleeping without her beside me trying to keep my cold body warm. http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/sniff.gif
I remember a couple of years ago, I moved to another island (also because of my work), I didn't know if I'll be coming home again (I did finally went back to live in my home island 4 months later) and I was crying on my way to the other island. My boyfriend then thought I was crying because I'll be missing my family, he didn't know what to say when I said I was crying because I'll be missing my cat so much it hurts. This here is meine katze, Bubu:
I also call her Babushka, Burrburr, Boober, Mooshkoosh, Oomph moomph, Panchung, and many more that I can't remember at the moment... I will miss her so much! [gonk] I'm already missing her now! D; -leaves to grab and snuggle with Bubu- |
Good luck Ses [hug] As for missing Bubu, I wish there was some other way D:
|
Oh the kitty cat...
I'm so sorry, I know how it feels. I've had a lot of cats, and I always missed them when I couldn't be with them. They understand me better than people do, I swear. *is a cat-whisperer and cat-magnet* |
I have now officially moved. =_="
@Vera - I also think animals understand me better than people do. Probably because they don't judge us like we, humans, judge each other. I wish I were a cat magnet o3o |
Hope you are comfortably settled, Ses! <3
No one understands Lexa [XD] |
Well, that just means Lexa is mysterious, is all.
Isn't that supposed to be a good thing? I think it is. If everyone understood everyone else all the way all the time, our brains would melt from sheer boredom. |
@Lexa - Thanks [hug] I still don't think I'm comfortably settled but what I'm sure of is that my grandma is quite happy that I'm here. ^_^
LOL'd at Ermahgerd Berks signature. [lol] |
Yeah, I've got quite a few Ermagherd pictures, like ERMAHGERD BERKS! and GERSBERMS MAH FARVRIT BERKS! but perversely, my favorite one says "Oh my god, books!"
|
-turbo pokes thread- http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/t/turbopoke.gif
@Vera - Your favorite is "Oh my god, books!" and your mule's name is... yep! xD About Goosebumps, I think the scariest story I've read from Goosebumps was The Night of the Living Dummy. I don't remember the story anymore but I do remember that that book made me stop playing with dolls [lol] |
I don't think any of the Goosebumps stories ever spooked me...I recall me mostly raging at the kids featured in the stories because of how stupid their actions were. [lol] |
Sesty peeked in again! [boogie]
Goosebumps series didn't give me goosebumps at all, so I stopped reading [XD] |
