llonka 01-14-2015 08:02 PM

llonka's day at school was much better today. Didn't get hungry and tumtum behaved. The bag I have to carry around my books though is not going to work. I have too many books this time... need to find something different.

Liquid Diamond 01-14-2015 08:18 PM

I'm ready to throw my coffee machine out the window. I need a new one![illgetu]

Eastriel 01-14-2015 08:20 PM

I dont drink coffee

llonka 01-14-2015 08:20 PM

Like a backpack? Lol terms... I don't have any money right now though so I'm gonna have to tough it out I guess. I do have a mesh backpack but for some reason things get stuck in there and it doesn't sit right when I'm carrying it.

Eastriel 01-14-2015 08:21 PM

Any thrift store should have a rucksack cheap C: You need to distribute the weight evenly accross your back

Liquid Diamond 01-14-2015 08:22 PM

No one cares about my anger!!!
Just kidding... sup dudettes

llonka 01-14-2015 08:26 PM

Hmm that's a good idea Easty. The one I have I think is for like just papers, not books. It's not workin out to well. I had to wrestle with it to get a paper in then to get my notebook in. Dumb thing!

I feel your pain Dia, coffee makers can be a pain in the tushie sometimes!

Vanora 01-14-2015 08:31 PM

/Rolls in/
Good afternoon RAK :)

llonka 01-14-2015 08:40 PM

I tossed my books into my mesh one... yeah that's not gonna work either. Maybe I'm being picky... but the books have to sit a certain way not fight me to get in the freakin bag lol.

CloudDreamer 01-14-2015 08:54 PM

llonka: Do you need to always have your books on you every day? Just asking because I know for my classes, we don't always need to bring our textbooks, or there is only one that we need, instead of all of them, so I'll bring my notebook, plus the book that we're using that day. If I lived closer, I'd so give you one of my bags that I use that's a decent bag. [hug]

Lavinia 01-14-2015 09:01 PM

Im hoping one day they will make the books e-books so you can just read on your tablet instead of carrying massive books around every day xDD

LovingThemForever 01-14-2015 09:05 PM

How are you all doing today?

Eastriel 01-14-2015 09:11 PM

llonka: trust me hun I wore satchels and all sorts of unsupported bags and I have somme irreversible damage and distinct weakness in one shoulder since using a rucksack for a couple of years i've found its so much better, though still plays up from time to time. I just know you've been struggling healthwise and I don't want you to add more problems to the pot x

llonka 01-14-2015 09:16 PM

Cloudy- I'm not sure yet, I know i'll need the lit book and probably the geography book but not sure about the music one. Which it's the smallest anyways. Aww thank you! [hug]

Easty- Yeah my chest is kinda hurting now, I assume from carrying that stupid bag like I did. Thanks for being concerned. [hug]

CloudDreamer 01-14-2015 09:17 PM

I once used an e-book for one of my textbooks, and I honestly didn't like it. I do much better with them as books in my hands. [yes] And I use a bag over one shoulder, but I don't always need to bring all my books - so I just bring the books that are needed for that one day - usually only one or two books, and a notebook, and my laptop, although now that I have a tablet, I may bring that instead and lock my laptop in my room to keep it safe. :] That helps keeping down on weight. It depends on if I need it or not - my laptop. [yes] But not taking all the textbooks, and only taking the ones that you really do need is key. ^_^ At least that's what I do. [yes]

Lavinia 01-14-2015 09:18 PM

Yeeah i suppose sometimes real books are useful especially if you are learning so you can stick notes inside or photocopy things.

CloudDreamer 01-14-2015 09:19 PM

llonka: Hopefully you won't always need to bring them all. :] I usually go based on the syllabus - to see what book we're talking about that day if the class has more than one. There's no way I'm bringing all my books with me all the time. Haha! Too heavy! The only time I have them all at the same time is when I get them from the bookstore to carry them back to my room. :P
I'm seriously trying to figure out if I have the money to get you some sort of cheap bag, like a knapsack and send it to you. :] As a present for being almost done! ^_^ To help make it easier for you.

Lavi: Haha, I use sticky notes - I realized that the books I just told a friend she can borrow for the semester, as I don't need them as I'm done with the class, are totally marked up with post it notes. [rofl]

Oh you don't have to do that Cloudy! I can just make due with what I've got. Might have to just carry a book around in my arms.

Alright, I'm sure that you'll be able to figure out some way of making it work once you get used to what needs to come with you on what day. :]

llonka 01-14-2015 09:28 PM

I'll be okay for a month or two. Then when we get some money (my return money) I'll go invest in a nice backpack. I'll prolly need one for the next college.

CloudDreamer 01-14-2015 09:29 PM

I know that you can make it! ^-^

I use a huge bag, like a diaper bag, most of the time. But I do have a TARDIS backpack, as well as a few other bags that I have - I switch out - usually have a bag per day, or if it is weird rainy weather, which is rare for LA, I have a bag that's more water proof than the others. :]
