Ugh, yeah - and then a fourth roommate coming in - well four including me - we just don't know who tho.

I'm looking into alternate low scented ideas for air freshener, that I can handle and see if they'll be ok with it...
They just change rules to fit them whenever they see fit... -.- And I'm not ok with this. What so ever. this is becoming a major health risk.

Do you sleep in separate rooms from your roommates? If you can't handle the air fresheners, they shouldn't hang them where you sleep, because that sounds like it would be dangerous.

I do have a different bedroom (well I will be getting a roommate) but the air fresheners... are in the common areas that we agreed beginning of last semester... that we would NOT use air fresheners in ANY of the common areas (other than the toilet room) due to sensitives, and my asthma. But apparently... that doesn't matter anymore. *sighs* :/

I don't even want to go into the kitchen to get food, despite having a headache that I know is due in part to the smells, but also because I haven't eaten enough today. :/

When was the last time you talked with them about it?

Mmmm, sometime last semester - but they clearly didn't listen. Oh, they're going to get a talking to, believe me. I'm going to tell them that we need to really talk about the use of air freshener, the fact that the garbage kept being left in the can for WAY longer than it should - and I kept forgetting about it as I wasn't using the Kitchen trash at all - and there was something else, but that we need to not go back on rules that we agreed upon as a room... that they change when they don't work for them. Heh. xD Because that's not ok.

That's good. A refresher at the beginning of this semester is a good idea. Why don't you all write down the rules on a big sheet of paper and keep or hang that up somewhere?

Oh, we did that, they still ignored them all... I live with preschoolers. *Sighs and curls up in bed*

I've never used air fresheners myself.

I've only lived with roommates who love them - I can't stand them personally. And my sensitives are getting worse, which only makes it harder on me.

Do you have medical documentation of your condition that you can show them and/or whoever is in charge of your floor or dorm?

Sadly, I don't. I do let them see the fact that I'm not making up my asthma -they've seen my inhalers... but as for my sensitivity to smells, it's not an actual medical condition - it's the fact that I was born an HSP... which causes me to just be hyper sensitive to certain things -smells and sounds being the two ones that mainly bother me, but other things sometimes bother me as well.

Is HSP something that a doctor can diagnose? I wonder because attention deficit disorder can be diagnosed by a doctor (although it is often over diagnosed).

No it isn't. HSP is NOT something that a doctor can diagnose... -.- Absolutely not...

Would you know how ADD is diagnosed? I thought it might be similar in the way they diagnose it, but it might not be.

ADD and HSP are NOT the same thing, absolutely not - what so ever.

Sorry, I'm just going to go - because this is just making me want to throw something across the room and the only things near me right now are crazy expensive things I can't allow myself to throw.. -.- Bye.

Did you misread my post? I didn't say they were the same thing. I said the way they are diagnosed might be similar.

No, they're not...

I really just can not be here... -.- They aren't the same, they aren't diagnosed the same, saying that they have to be diagnosed... to me feels like I'm just someone who has something wrong with her, which there isn't... it JUST is who I am.. I can't be here.. look things up and read into them before acting like you know. Can't be here... -.- Bye.

Do you remember that I said this?

I didn't say that you need a doctor to diagnose your condition to actually have a condition. But since your roommates don't believe you, that's one way to prove to them that they can't just hang up air fresheners wherever they want and disregard things they do that could be dangerous to your health. Because that's not right of them to do that.

What I meant was that if a doctor officially diagnoses your condition, then the people in your dorm or in charge of your dorm will be forced to take down their air fresheners and other things that are harmful.

I never look at any of the roleplaying threads.
Wouldn't have time to work on one.
