I don't do much more doodling than my zentangles (I have 11 of them), otherwise I just stick to photography myself.

Cloudie and Fuu-Chan, would either of you know of a good drawing app for the iPad? I have a bunch of art I wanted to draw for people on Mene, but drawing on the computer is a slower process than by hand.

I don't have an ipad
so I can't really suggest apps.

I use my paint.
It's 100% free and has many tools and layers.
Not sure if it'll work for the ipad or not though.

I'll look into whether the iPad has some sort of equivalent program to do things that Paint does.

Sadly I don't have an iPad either. Sorry. I just have my MacBook Pro (which does have apps, yes, but sometimes drawing apps for the iPad don't work on here, so I don't know) and my Android Galaxy tablet, that's new so I still don't totally know my way around it yet.

And all my doodles I do are done by hand. :] (I did post a pic on the previous page of my last doodle I did, plus an answer to your question as to what books I'm getting, Sal. :] )

My paint has a site but you dl it.
I just have a laptop and it doesn't lag at all and doesn't take up much room
if that helps any.

Thanks for letting me know, Cloudie! Mene likes to hide posts sometimes. D:

So nothing challenging like this? (Yes, this is something that I just did the other day. It only took me a day, but I got lots of hand cramps. LOL!) Who says that doodles and random shapes/lines isn't challenging. Although zentangles, what this is, are easy, they just look complicated at times. They're awesome fun to do! This is my latest one. :]
That is beautiful artwork!!! So intricately detailed, too.

Those sound like very interesting books. "This is Not a Book" makes me wonder what the book actually is. "Wreck this Journal" makes me wonder whether the journal has perforated pages or something...why wreck it? and in what way? "Finish this book" sounds so awesomely demanding, haha. What are all these books about?! Are they all part of a set from the same author?

It's harder for me to draw on the computer than by hand

You're welcome. My posts seem to end up being like ninja posts sometimes.

Thank you!! The super fine pointed pens that I recently bought totally helped for sure!! It'd not be possible without them!

The reason for wrecking, etc... is to get you out of your usual box and think in ways that you wouldn't think of. They're meant to be fun. And get you out of a boxed way of thinking.
Those three are from the same author, the happy book isn't. The three - the This is Not a Book, is a series of things that are artsy related and are meant to make you think creatively... Not totally sure how Finish this book, will go.
So the reason for wrecking it - is to show yourself it's ok to do things that aren't totally in the norm for you. :] It's ok to be different in that way. ^_^

The Happy one is just a book that's meant to make you think of happy things - same format as the other books. But it's a book you can refer to when you need to think of happy things.

Well I am more of a digital artist
than a traditional art.
And I did digital art for five years. Except it was pixel art before I got a tablet finally.

I am just used to it and do better.
Like my art I can draw much looser and traditional art feels so constricted.
I can't sketch out a single pose when I draw offline.

The world would be boring if we all did the same style of art, in the same way. ^.^

Fuu: I'm envious of people who can do stuff on the computer, I've done one thing on the computer and that was enough to make me go "Mmmm, I'll stick to pencil/pen and paper." lol xD

@Sal
Yeah. Now if only I knew what works to get my motivation back.

@Cloud
I am like that with plain paper and pencil.
That is why I do not have a sketchbook.
Or if I do I never use it.

Different people are also motivated by different things. What has motivated you in the past?

Understandable there, Fuu. If you'd never use it, then why have it?

I just have this little journal I carry around with me it's like 5"x5". So it's not really an actual sketch book - it's what I did that doodle in. :]

---------- Post added 01-17-2015 at 10:20 AM ----------

I've noticed in the past, when I'm lacking motivation... when I push myself to try to find motivation, that's when I'm least likely to find it. Sometimes stopping yourself from forcing yourself to try to find it, can sometimes help. At least it does for me. Not saying it will for you. :]

@Sal
I can't actually remember since I never lacked or had difficulty motivating myself
in a long time.

@Cloud
Exactly.
If I do have one I usually let my sister doodle in it.
She is much better at offline drawing than I am.

Yeah, though for me taking breaks just makes it so much easier
for me to become even more motivated. XD

So I have to be in between not forcing myself too much
and not taking breaks for too long.

Fuu: that's nice of you to let her use it. :]

Yeah, it's all about finding that balance. I sometimes go months without creativity and then an explosion of creativity comes out and I make tons of things! (I also do felt work, sewn felt not needle felting.)

As well with one of my doodles, I started it back in April, I didn't finish it till December as I wasn't feeling that creative motivation, but it did get finished. eventually. :]

@Cloud
Well if I am not going to use it, it is better if she does.

Well when my old laptop died and Nano started that is sort of when
I lost my motivation and inspiration.
However I can write more then draw right now.

And my art pieces most of them are from 1-2 years ago
and still incomplete. XDD

I feel like I am too motivated sometimes...I love to try everything and then end up having too much on my plate. One of my New Year's Resolutions was to declutter my life and drop things that I don't need to do. But they still continue to pile on sometimes.

Oh, darn! I can see that's why though!

Nothing wrong with that!
I'm sure that one day you'll be able to go back and get yourself to finish them. :]
