Nevermind it was lysol... but still that stuff is almost enough to give me a headache as well... and once again. NO ONE ASKED ME IF IT WAS SOMETHING THAT I'M OK WITH. *Sighs* They're just showing that they truly do not get how to live with other people in such close quarters. :/ *sighs*

Yeah me too. He's had lots of trouble with his ears the past couple of years.

Neph: They give me headaches... most cleaning supplies/air fresheners do. And my roommates do not give a crap... -.- They do what they want. I rarely do anything in our room outside of my bedroom, my door is almost always closed... because of their scents that are everywhere despite them AGREEING to not use air fresheners in the common areas.. -.- Because apparently they think that I'm making excuses and making up my EXTREME sensitivities to smells... -.- Because that's just something I apparently do. *grumbles* It doesn't even matter if it's a natural scent or not, it's pretty much guaranteed to give me a headache. -.- Or rather threaten to.

It may be a good idea to look into sign, just in case. It doesn't hurt someone to learn it, you never know when it'll come in handy.

My roommate last year was taking ASL in HS for fun, and then she went deaf... and actually needed it to get along in the world as that was the only way she could communicate with others.

Amane 01-26-2015 11:14 PM

And then I remember that squid SMELLS.
/there's this group that did a song about squid
/AND THEY HAVE A WIGGLY SQUID DANCE

llonka 01-26-2015 11:16 PM

Oh no, that's terrible Cloudy! At least she already knew sign

CloudDreamer 01-26-2015 11:19 PM

llonka: She knew it was a possibility - it was something that was looming - it's due to tumors (benign) and the removal that causes deaf-blindness (Yes she is deaf-blind, legally blind, she doesn't need tactile, but there are things that she needs, like close up interpreters even in signed classes as she can't see teachers, and people need to learn to sign slower at times because she doesn't always catch everything). She said it was such a huge change - going from hearing till she as 17 to suddenly deaf, well it was over the course of 5 years that she ended up going from hard of hearing (but unable to connect sounds with what they were) to deaf (she's profoundly deaf now) due to multiple surgeries to remove tumors from her brain. She went through surgery a year ago - or so... to remove 4 tumors fro her spine. She seems to have a major surgery once every five years.

Not saying that this will happen - it's a genetic condition she was born with - but just saying, you never know when sign will come in handy. [yes] *shrugs* Because for her it went from "Oh, this is just a fun class and a language I'm interested in" to "I actually need this language to communicate with the world around me."

That sounds lovely for some reason.

Amane 01-26-2015 11:59 PM

The wording, you mean?

Kenome-Chan 01-27-2015 12:39 AM

Cloud,
I feel you on the smells thing.
I'm allergic to most smells.

CloudDreamer 01-27-2015 12:40 AM

Keno: It sucks, and I'm tired of people not taking me seriously. :( I've even told them of my severe sensitivities... they basically tell me that they think I'm making excuses. D: And continue doing it. :(

Kenome-Chan 01-27-2015 12:43 AM

Cloud,
I'm glad that when I tell people the get something and see if it's true or not then believe me.
/it's mostly people at work
And I almost always sneeze like a million times and it makes it hard to breath then they believe me.

Oh, most people -- other than my two idiot roommates -- take me seriously. It's just Aleea and Kelsey who seem to act like it doesn't matter and do it anyways! D: I only get headaches... and I can't really prove it, as I'm good at hiding the fact that I have a headache whenever I do get one... soooo yeah. *sighs* D:
