Cloudy, I let her borrow my book this time, but will try not to again. She mentioned something about almost losing another person's book. I'm like oh great how reassuring...not. I'm renting that book so she better not lose it!

llonka: Just make sure she knows that it is a one time thing and you won't let her borrow it again. OH she better not lose it!! If she does, I Don't care if she doesn't have the money... she's paying for it and giving you the money so you don't have to pay for the lost book... *fingers crossed she doesn't lose it.

That's what I'm thinking too. I wish I wasn't so nice all the time.

There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with saying no. It's your book... she's in college too... she needs to learn to find ways to get money, or find the book at the library... instead of acting pitiful and acting like she can't find a way to get a copy of the book for herself. Some people just need to learn to grow up and realize that they're in college now... time to act like an adult.

And llonka, I don't mean to intrude, but I agree with Cloudy. I let my best friend borrow my books, but only because she's my best friend and I know she won't lose them. I cross my fingers too!

Yeah, I only have a set few people that I'm ok with lending my books to - and that is, as well, because I know I can trust them and they've proved reliable in the past with returning books when they say they'll return them. :) Although that being said, that list this semester doesn't seem that long - more because most people have their own books, as the books for my major don't cost too much, most of the time. :)

I'm doing good! This is my first year in college and my second semester, how about you?

I'm getting set to graduate from college in May (I realized I should put College in there, as I've had people think I'm still in HS. haha! XP) - just have to survive these last four classes, and try to figure out what in the world I want to do for my senior project... I'm supposed to at least have a bit of an idea like before 4 pm today... and I'm still struggling. XD We'll see how this goes. Haha!

Oh, it's been great, especially since my best friends are there with me! It's very independent, and my campus is beautiful. The people are generally nice, but it's different everywhere. There's lots of clubs too, though I'm not in any. But I'm enjoying my time~

I look younger than most people seem to think I am... haha! Which usually makes me laugh. I'm in my mid 20s. :P
That's great! I wish that I had more friends down here that I knew from before I moved here. :( I'm in a few clubs, but I get easily overwhelmed so I usually don't end up going to the meetings often. [sweat] But on the plus, I get to move back home in May! [yes] And I don't have to come back here - although being as immersed in the culture as I am down here, I'll miss that.

My senior project can be on anything that interests me, as long as it's a topic that relates to my major - which is Deaf Studies.
I'm thinking about possibly comparing and contrasting works of De'VIA art (which is Deaf Culture Art) from around the world and seeing now they compare/contrast. I'm just not sure if I can write a 12 page paper and give a 15 minute presentation on that topic.... I may ask Jordan (my teacher) if he think that'd work, or how he'd narrow/widen it if needed. I meet up with him at 4 pm for class. :) But other than that, I'm not sure. I want to have a few ideas just in case one doesn't work.

Oh, I never had to do a Senior Project in HS. This project that I'm trying to decide on is in order to graduate with my BA. [yes] It's for my Capstone class, which has to be taken my Graduating Semester. [yes] It's basically similar to a thesis... but not quite. Closeish. xD Words are failing me. haha!
