Oh, yeah - and people think that they don't hurt so they can say what ever the heck they want... I'll be honest, I will NEVER recommend this site ever to any of my friends based on how I've been treated on here. BECAUSE there are plenty of people who feel they can treat me like crap... Just because they know they can get away with it. But I will never recommend Mene to anyone, because I know that people will just treat them horribly too. And I will not let anyone I know be subjected to that kind of torture... -.- (I have told mods/admins.... nothing ever gets done.)

8U I think that the original intent of that saying has been skewed. I don't think its trying to diss the potential that words have to hurt you. But its saying that whether words can hurt you or not, its your choice. If you don't respect someone, then don't let their opinions matter. Bam. Immediately nothing they say can damage you.

I'm sorry that you've been treated so badly here, Cloud. :( That is awful. People can be so mean. I especially find that people seem meaner over the Internet than they do in person. Most people online aren't that bold to say such mean things to someone in person.

I haven't thought about it that way before. But that makes so much more sense than just saying "words don't hurt"! I like that interpretation so much better. I still believe though, that words do have powerful effects on people, I don't think I know of anyone who is totally unaffected by mean words.

Well. Its nigh-impossible for someone to be completely immune to mean words. But if you can convince yourself that only specific people's words matter, then the blows are a little softer and easier to heal from. c:

There's a lot of pastimes available via the Internet, and it simply makes the most sense for her to pick something that she might enjoy better.
