I take the sausage off, eat the pizza, leave the crust, then eat the sausage. *grins*
|
Ooooohhh. Your a topping peeler?
I do that too. :) |
I sometimes pull my pizza apart too, but these days I mostly fold it in half and eat it like a calzone, or a taco or something.
|
New Orleans is so big. I get somewhat lost every time I go. I went a couple weeks ago with some friends to get beignets and daquiris. I've never heard of Mardi Gras Zone before. Maybe we'll make a trip to check it out.

they do the scillian in smaller squares for lunch http://www.inetours.com/New_Orleans/...tchez_dock.jpg Quote:

I like my pizza fully loaded. I like stuffed crust, but my husband prefers thin crust. I eat it regular or with a fork and knife if it's super loaded.
|
i wonder if there is any pizza left
i made myself soooo hungry posting all those pictures |
NOW SHE'S CHRISTMAS!
Square pizza makes me so upset and I don't know why. Like, I don't even want to eat it. I need a triangle, a 2D cone, mother! |
I'm a deep dish,stuffed crust,extra mushrooms kinda person.
|
NOLA seems big when you're not used to it, but to me it's like a small town with a bunch of stuff crammed into it. Any place that's been here more than a few years, I know how to find it.
Mardi Gras Zone is kind of overpriced on most of their stuff, but they're on my way to the Quarter, and the pizza's good enough that I do break down frequently and eat a slice on my way. As for the kind of pizza I like, it's either got to be super-big and thin, or so deep it looks like lasagna. Those are my two extremes, NY style and Chicago deep dish. |
I've never had New York style or a Chicago deep dish style pizza. Just regular pizzas. Though, I would love to try a deep dish pizza.
|
Deep dish looks unacceptable.
|
Deep dish is amazing. If it's true deep dish that is.
|
I forget what it's called, and some would call it heresy, but I admit I do also like the pie that has both a bottom crust and a top crust. It's like a gigantic circular calzone, but stuffed full like a traditional pastry pie.
It's like a deep-dish with a thin crust, sorta. |
Deep dish looks amazingly delicious. But it has to have pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, black olives, and lots and lots of cheese.
I've seen pizzas like that, Mousy. They call them the Mona Lisa here. |
Deep dish heresy. Yes, I like that.
|
The only good deep dish I've found in NOLA is at a place called Midway. It's pricey, but it's fantastic.
And yeah, most deep dish pizza sucks, but only because the people making it don't get it. Done properly, it's amazingly good. |
I always forget you people don't have meat pies.
|
i'm a stromboli fan myself
https://foodnearsnellville.files.wor...9/img_5870.jpg i like roasted redpeppers and onions stuffed in mine before it's rolled up http://www.fauziaskitchenfun.com/sit...20step%201.jpg |
*weeps* All this food makes my picky self disappointed.
Gonna see if my momma stops me from sleeping. |
Stromboli, hells yeah!
And Sleepy, you just don't even know. We have meat pies here, too. Hell, we even have crawfish pies. Good luck sleepifying, Amane! |
we do have philly's though =3 Quote:

Hard to get a decent Philly outside of Philly.
We have po-boys, but they cost too much these days for po-people to eat them. |
WOW. I regret refreshing.
|
Dude, Meat Pies are so freaking good. The food truck that comes past work brings Bacon, Cheese and Beef pies. They are so damn good.
