I really hope I get this job. D: I need it. I need a full time job. |
I need a clearer future. In a good way. *glares at bad omens*
|
I've only ever had one full time job, ever. That was McDonald's. At 5.15$ an hour. [stare] |
Yuck. A while ago? 'Cause isn't minimum wage higher than that?
WAIT. I bet it varies by state, does it not? |

As I thought. $7.X5.

Minimum wage here has been raised to $9.25
|
Some people work really hard as long as you don't tell them to.
|
Ours is $9.47. Soon to be $15.00 an hour.
If the vote passes that is. |
Dat's steep.
|
Washington State has a very high cost of living rate. Even at $15 an hour it's tough.
|
My husband and I were talking about the talks of raising minimum wage to $15 an hour last night. It's mostly fast food employees who complain about the minimum wage, at least where I live. I worked in fast food for 5 years (Taco Bell) and my salary as a higher up manager came out to be about $15 an hour, so I'm not really on that bandwagon to make $15 minimum wage. In my state (Mississippi), the cost of living is not that high, depending on what city you live in. My last apartment was only $450 a month with cable and water included. Now, I've moved into more of a metropolitan area, so of course rent is higher, but it's still not high enough to constitute a $15 minimum wage.

Rent varies here depending on where you live too.
Apartments average anywhere from $900 to $1200 a month. and they only pay water and garbage. |
I haven't had to pay for water at my last apartment or my current one, but my first one, we had to pay for water, and it averaged about $50 a month. We've never had to pay for garbage. I think that's just homeowners here. Some homeowners also have to pay for sewage. The apartments we have lived in have ranged from $450 for a studio apartment with cable, water, and valet waste (put your garbage can outside your door at night and someone comes by to take it to the dumpster for you) to $550 for our current one bedroom apartment with water included to $650 for our first one bedroom apartment in the ghetto with cable included for an extra $25 a month. The studio apartment was the best deal, and it was right across from my job at the time, but the landlord was a word that rhymes with "witch" so we moved once I lost my job to our current apartment which is right down the road from my college and much closer to my husband's college.

Student cards do come in handy. Where I live, Dunkin Donuts gives all students with identification a small coffee for $1 all day, any day.
|
I love Dunkin Donuts. I wish there was one where I live but there isn't. :(
I am now craving a donut... One of their pink frosted ones. |
There's one across the street from where I live. I loved the cookie dough one they had around Valentine's Day.
|
I don't like Dunkin' Donuts… I like Krispy Kreme, which we don't have anymore. Gotta buy it from the grocery.
|
Div, Feels That Everything will go up higher once the $15 Minimum wage goes into effect. Hawaii is already expensive as it is. ;(
