He'll be fine. There will be friends for him that don't care if he's different.
I don't know where on the autism scale he is, but he needs things spelled out and preferably written down for him to get them. He can't do large gatherings or he gets overwhelmed, and has to have a wingman when he goes out because he can't tell when a girl is hitting on him.
I have another friend on the autism scale who is loud, outgoing, but doesn't pick social cues of what is or is not appropriate conversation.

Hmm I think so Babyblue, just the sauce I guess.. I'm not really sure haha. I think I'll just omit the seasonings I don't have as I've had my gallbladder out too and spicy will sometimes tear up my tummy too. [sweat]

Ya know I've been aware of Harveys autism since he was a baby sounds weird but he wasn't my first baby so I felt the barrier that was between us even though I bonded with him on a more intense level than the other two.

So I've been prepared and fought and fought for someone to listen to me. Had to move county's to have a better chance of getting him the best care and treatment.
He's been in I tense therapy since 18months old.
I've been to classes and read books and slowly learned and for the past 2years I haven't seen of anymore.. Autism I mean. Because I've learned how to work with him and communicate. So I think I fell back in to denial.
His diagnosis yesterday just brought back a lot of feelings I thought I'd already dealt with.
Your post made me feel much better because that's my biggest worry. Kids are so cruel. Even adults are cruel and for me that's the only thing that scares me is I don't want people to be mean to him because he's different. Because here at home he's Harvey and he's perfect and I tell him and the other two the same every day. I just get scared other people will make him think otherwise.
Just mommy instincts I guess.
