I think they paid my $500. I suppose it was $500 an hour, but it took less than an hour to shoot. Literally, I walked in, they said, make an excited face and I did it and they said, "Perfect! Let's do some different looks for the heck of it." So we did and I was done in like 15 minutes.

At first I hated it straight, I missed my curly hair so much and I couldn't get used to my hair being so thin, but now I like it. I do miss my curly hair still, but I can tolerate it being straight. I think I like it being long, but I don't like it being straight. You know?

I just washed my hair and I think I got heat damage. Some of my curls aren't curling anymore.
Figures. The one time I get my hair straightened is the one time I get heat damage.

Hey, Ava! ....I been kinda AWOL for a while...been kinda "out of sorts" and busy...
I like your hair straight! ...isn't there some kind of more natural and gentle way to straighten your hair?
My grandmother used to tell me of a girl she knew that would iron her hair straight...We are talkin' waaayyy back "in the day" when they set the iron on a stove to heat it, then the girl would cover her hair with a cloth and iron over the cloth till her hair would be straight.
Have you tried a relaxer and wrapping your hair around some large curlers or pop cans? (Just a thought)
I laughed out loud when I read the Pisces comment to "don't sweat it"...thinking that sweating would probably make your hair go all poofy-curly again! Lol!

....as for French Fried Grasshoppers...I prolly wouldn't mind eating cooked bugs if there was some way to clean the guts out first...

I'm glad things are going alright for you. :D
I've never had a relaxer, but I don't really like my hair straight enough to try straightening in any less damaging way.

I washed my hair like three times and the curls are coming back, so I think the heat damage is being repaired. I soaked my hair in shampoo, then deep conditioned, then regular conditioned and it's coming back.

I will post a picture of how my hair looks today. [eager] Later, though...

What are all my friends doing for the 4th of July?
My family and I are grilling some veggie burgers and then we're going to grill some corn and we have vegan burger buns to eat. My mom is vegetarian and my dad isn't, but they both like veggie burgers so it works!

We had a BBQ and then went to watch fireworks with our friend's Greg, Jon, and their son Benji, which was fun. Usually it's bigger- like my hubby's parents and my parents but we decided to keep it small this year. :]

That sounds yummy! :D I do veggie burgers wrapped in lettuce. I skip the bun all together. :) My girls think I'm strange.

I've never been to a "bad" neighborhood, but even where I live, there is nobody but cows, corn and people who like scrapbooking... and I still think the fireworks sound like bombs or gunshots. [:O][rofl]
