Yucky things suck, Amane!

I just recently found out that one of my favorite thrift stores has been lying about the charities they donate to. So, instead they've been keeping the money rather than donating it to those charities! I mean... UGH!!! SO FRUSTRATING.

And this thrift chain had many other stores in their branch, so now I'm limited to shopping at Goodwill and Salvation Army. I don't mind shopping there, but that other store had so many clothes! And they were really awesome clothes too.

Oh well. I'm glad I found out now. But I'm so mad because I donated SO MUCH stuff to that thrift store in the past! I actually just donated a huge box of books to them before I found out that they had a lawsuit against them for "being dishonest with the public". The man who took my books said he couldn't give me a receipt for my taxes or whatever and I asked why and he said, "There's a lawsuit against us." :| And I thought, "Okay, weird." So I went home and googled the lawsuit with the thrift store and I was blown away!

Why would anyone do something like that?! I would NEVER have donated my books to them if I had known they were just going to take all the profits, I'd have brought my books to someplace else. I'd probably even just sell them. Ugh!

Hi everyone. I'm craving a Quarter Pounder or a Whopper. BUT on a whim, I looked up the calorie count for each 1 & the cals were sooooo much higher than I remebered. My fav, the Whopper with everything & xtra pickles (the way I prefer it & the only way I will eat it) was 780 calories!!!

How thee hell can one live life without cheese?! Meat maybe, but no way I'm giving up sharp cheddar or my swiss cheese.

Rw I know of no Vegans in my work or social circles. But awhile back, at my 1st "real job" my boss was this really nice lesbian/vegetarian. She however though ate seafood. But nothing with 4 legs, 2 legs, walked the earth...somethin like that. After work we & other co-workers would go to happy hour & literally all she ever ordered each time was a plate of fries which she ate with salt & malt vinegar, the English/Brit style. She informed me however that she actually came from a Scottish background.

Her son, yup biological & all. Even though she was I would consider a butch lesbian. Anyway he had the reddest hair & freckles. She explained to me alot about her life & her choices. It was pretty eye opening at the time.

Oh & we also had lotz & lotz of drinks. The place we frequented was well known for its Long Island Iced Teas which we nick named Strong Islands. They also had some of the best bar food around. The place would be packed by 6pm everyday.

I don't like it when people call themselves vegetarians but they eat seafood! Fish is still flesh, it's still meat! A person who doesn't eat meat, but eats seafood is a pescetarian.

And I don't understand why someone would not eat "meat" but still eat seafood. Like, it's still meat. :| It's still a life that you've killed and are eating it's corpse.

But, whatever!

I don't know any vegans personally either. I don't even know any vegetarians besides myself. I feel so alone. :(

I suppose it depends on why someone chooses to not eat meat. if, like you, its to respect and preserve life, then of course eating fish would be wrong. but there are many reasons not to eat meat. health issues, eating meat (especially red meat) clogs up arteries and fill the colon with crap (quite literally). its bad for the heart, stomach, cholesterol levels, bmi, and of course it has a high calorie count. fish has none of those health implications. in fact, fish has almost the opposite effect, an 'anti-meat' if you will. it lowers/settles blood pressure, clears the stomach, good for the blood flow, digests easily, and omega 3 is apparently required for healthy living (that last one is more to do with consumerism than actual health relief). the only true issues with fish (apart from them being living breathing creatures) are: teeny tiny bones to choke on, eating fish makes your sweat smell funny, and they're ugly to look at. its like vegans, they mainly don't use animal related products as a form of protest, not because they don't want to eat a living thing, but because they're protesting the repression of animals (why else boycott milk based products? no animals die to produce milk). then there are people who don't eat meat because its 'trendy' to do so. they're the secret meat eaters, and probably eat fish openly. I have a friend who's a freegan, he visits the store's the night before trash day and takes all the 'off today' foodstuffs out of the bins. its quite the trend. most people who do it, do it not because they cannot afford food, but as a form of personal protest against big corporations who waste tons of food daily when they could have fed the poor, the destitute, the starving, and those guys who clean windshields at stop signs. also, I soooo forgot about the song La Di Da Di. that track is from the days when rap was still on track, and Slick Rick's from the UK so it relates better my way too. lol, Doug E Fresh (never did learn what the 'E' stood for, or maybe it was just poetic license) the human beatbox. now everybody and their auntie Sue can do it. funny the way things evolve over time

Thats what I assumed a vegetarian was, no meat at all. Just remembering that my younger sister does that though to lose weight. She wont eat any meat unless its seafood. I never thought about Vegans too much besides just hearing repeatedly that its a clean way to live. Its just all fuckin hollywood hype to me. I do get though the side of it when ppl use it as a way to protest inhumane animal cruelty & such. Eh, to each its own.

Lol! Slick Rick sure is from the UK! U think of him & think oh yeah he's straight outta New York. But I can absolutely recall his accent from an old interview he did. Its even a lil present in his rap voice. One of the greats definitley. Doug E. Fresh, I think the E is just his middle initial possibly. Suddenly in the mood for some good rap music. Gonna go search up some old school 80's on YouTube.

My confusing relationship with cheese continues.
/the appearance and taste of melted cheese make me wanna be sick
/I love cheese slices alone n' cheese cubes alone n' shredded cheese atop a taco
/I used to devour mac and lactose
/passed a bunch of cheese at the grocery a few days ago and THE SMELL OMG I COULD'VE BEEN SICK

I can't be a vegetarian because of chicken and bacon. No one can be a vegan. Nothing is vegan.

Dairy cows actually go through a lot of abuse for commercial milk, as do chickens who are not free range or organic.

From what I know of veganism it's a very healthy diet. People are conditioned to think they need meat to survive but that is not true. You can get more Omega 3 Fatty Acids drinking almond milk than you can from a filet of salmon.

I'm not vegan, but being vegetarian and eating organic foods have definitely made me feel so much better than eating a bunch of processed crap and meat. I think eating meat is one of the reasons why my body was so messed up and it had a lot to do with my mood. When I ate meat, I felt so disgusting, heavy, tired all the time. Without meat, I have so much energy ad I feel better in general. I'm also way more fit.

So, yeah. That's my two cents on the whole thing.
