lol, all slang and giggles aside, they did a shoddy job. my bathroom's not the nicest or most stylish in the world, but one thing it did have was an immaculate ceiling. now, post 'boot gate' (as I like to refer to the incident of them sticking their foot through my ceiling from the domicile above), its a miasmic kaleidoscope of torn embossed paper and wet plaster. hope they don't think they're leaving it like that, or it'll shape my nostalgic imaginings into a patchwork of nightmarish images whenever I'm frolicking lackadaisically amongst the aromatic bubbles of a relaxing mid-day bath

Too bad they did a terrible job redoing your ceiling.
As they say... If you want something done yourself, don't have other people do it.

Or something like that???

of course, a job well done is a job done yourself, except I didn't ask for someone to try to put a skylight in my ground floor bathroom with their size sixteen foot. the onus is on them to repair the damage they inadvertently caused. all I ask is that they restore it to the condition I was in, pre boot gate. I wouldn't mind so much, but they had already almost broken through the wall to my property on two previous occasions, and I jokingly remarked on his wanting to pop round for a cup of tea. maybe if I'd snorted with derision and slapped his face with my glove, he would've stopped trying to invite himself in

Wow! One would think that a bathroom ceiling would be such a small job that they could do it correctly in short order and be done with it!....but, instead, may wait till you take civil action against them....
I don't suppose ya have any pictures of your ceiling, pre-boot-gate?
It would help to prove your case in court, I think, to have before and after pictures to prove the damage and poor repairs.
Otherwise, I would suggest ya get some scaffolding and some plaster and create a masterpiece on your ceiling....then, when this event may happen again, they will owe you for damage to an irreplaceable art piece!
....But, maybe lack of time and desire to cling to the bathroom ceiling for weeks may deter you from this suggestion! Lol!
I hope that ya get some satisfaction in the ceiling repair department real soon!

I hope everybody is having a fine day!

We have these "weeds" called Common Mullein....sometimes called Lamb's Ear or Indian Toilet Paper...
It starts growing in a rosette of soft, fuzzy leaves....then, as the plant matures, a stalk grows up through the center...the stalk is covered with little yellow flowers.

It is said that these plants indicate how deep the snow will be in the winter...
I had one that was as tall as I am, and others have claimed that they have Mullein stalks that are 10 feet tall!

Oh...and though the fuzzy leaves seem soft and would be a nice substitute for toilet paper, in the wild,...I have read claims that a husband and wife used the leaves for toilet paper and both had an allergic reaction....down there!

But....yeah! If the lore is correct, we may see some deep snow for the winter!

I love nature,
Except bugs. But I love nature and I wouldn't wipe myself with a plant because it's not comfortable. I think when I went camping with my best friend in elementary school we used to pee in the bushes and we used leaves and it was not comfortable and pointless actually because the leaves don't soak up moisture they just spread it around. So basically you're just wiping your pee all over yourself instead of wiping it off.

Is that TMI?

If bugs and sweat didn't exist, the warm months wouldn't be so bad, and not-snowy outside would be okay.

I don't mind sweat, but I hate bugs!
I used to be brave as a kid I would let ladybirds and butterflies and caterpillars crawl on me and I loved them. I used to love some bugs as a kid.
One time a spider crawled on my hand while I was playing hide and seek and instead of screaming I brushed it off my hand.

I think my fear of bugs started when I put on a dirty shirt for soccer practice and a bug crawled out of my sleeve and onto my hand and it was huge! Ever since then I never let another bug crawl on me.

I want to get back to where I wasn't afraid of ALL bugs. I really do love nature, I appreciate her and I want to better handle bugs and not be afraid of them all.

But winter is the best because there are no bugs.

I used to not be as afraid of bugs, but I've always been scream-and-run-away-somebody-kill-it afraid.

Bugs can sometimes be scary...
They have big, buggy eyes and more than five or six of them...
They have multiple legs with weird feet,
They sometimes have hard shells and look menacing...

There are many reasons to hate bugs.

I forgot how great a movie Tango and Cash was. and, being pre-CGI, its definitive proof that Sylvester Stallone can speak English

Chinese looks scary because it wants you to get past that and look like the baddest biscuit in this town for being able to read Chinese.

I want to learn Russian, not because it'll look cool writing with all those backwards letters, but so I have a valid reason for saying 'dos vedanya tovarisch' in a slow, deep, monotone voice whenever I leave the room. it sounds so much better than 'goodbye'

Wintertime does not mean "no bugs" for me!
As soon as the weather gets chilly, the spiders move indoors!
I have spiders all year around!
....and MICE!
The closer the winter gets, the more the mice invade the house!

I used to be deathly afraid of spiders....had one fall on my bare foot while sorting dirty laundry one day.....I was terrified of the buggers for a couple of decades after that!
(My crazy ex-husband kept a black widow in a jar till its egg sack hatched...then he emptied the jar in our back alley! ....Like, "Gee, THANKS, A-hole!"
But, as I get older and common sense has defeated my paranoia, spiders are now just a minor annoyance.
Keeping in mind that the smaller spiders kill the bigger, more dangerous spiders, I have even (nearly) grown to appreciate what the spiders do for us! Maybe reading up on the good things that spiders do can help you get over some of your fear of them.

Hey, Menelaus....have you ever seen the movie Lords of Flatbush?
It has Sylvester in it...when he was sooo young!
The role fits him well, in that movie!

Coincidentally, when Hope gets full reign of my phone, to watch videos, she always watches episodes of Masha and the Bear...in RUSSIAN!
She watches the whole episode as if she understands what is being said! Lol!
I figure that this may be the seed that grows into a desire to learn Russian when she is older.
Russian is a cool language to listen to.

I hope everybody has a great weekend in store!

Having some serious longing for iCarly over here right now. Anyone know if they show reruns of it on Nickelodeon still?

isn't that the one with the Fonz in it? Henry Winkler's so cool in everything he's in, even when he tries so hard not to be. lol, maybe she'll learn Russian the same way people learn Spanglish from Dora, stranger things have happened. a Polish friend of mine learned English from watching sci-fi movies, she could barely say "hello" when she first came here a few years back and now she's the general manager of an insurance company

wow, what's this world coming to? there's been recent allegations that British Prime Minister, David Cameron, violated a pig as an initiation during his university days. its bad enough that he's been screwing the country for the last four years, but a pig!?! lol, perhaps he thought it was a silk purse

Yes, that be the movie....I haven't seen it for years....guess I'll look it up and watch it to see if my opinion is still the same! Lol!

So....how does one violate a pig, anyway? ....they are hard to hold onto! ....maybe he got it drunk! Lmao

lol, I'm not too sure of the method, though I know that in Wales and the West Country they put a sheep's hind feet into a single wellington boot before the shagging commences, allegedly

on a lighter note, The Man With The Iron Fists is a very disturbing movie. so much so, that I may have to stop watching it. but its like when a moth is drawn into a flame, or a deer freezes in the headlights of an oncoming vehicle. I'm so disgusted by it that I just can't look away. "damn you, Tarantino!!"
