You should try to take some time for your work as well! Helping a friend is definitely a nice thing, but so is making time for your own work <3 What genre do you generally write? |
It actually is fun. It keeps me from getting excited about ideas I won't like later and sharing too soon and carrying the embarrassment with me for all eternity.

Realism definitely has it's perks and drawbacks - it can be a difficult genre to write as well because it's so easy to veer off course and go off onto a non-realistic adventure! [yes]

You could always take a class on realistic writing and see if you get back into it? I know college English departments have all sorts of writing classes like that that focus on specific writing styles and genres! |
Taking a class kills the fun, and again, I'm very, very shy about my work.

Ah - I guess we have different views on that one for sure - I personally enjoyed those classes and gained a lot of tools and insight through them. :)
But my learning style or approach is certainly different from yours - everyone is different and grows through different methods! [yes] I hope you're able to work on your craft and get to the level you desire through the means that work for you! <3 |
While I've found that usually the only way to get better ultimately is to keep practicing. The tips n' tricks all boil down to things I've pretty much tried in the past.

I can agree yet at the same time I still disagree. I understand where you're coming from and what you're saying, so I can agree on the one hand. But on the other hand, I still feel that practicing the same way can only get you so far before you start to plateau - and I feel that that goes for anything! So I can't 100% agree because branching out and using different methods can spark something - it's a change of pace or change of venue, so the results may vary from what you've gotten in the past. Plus I'm very pro-classes that inspire and challenge you, and not just for writing either! xD;
But yeah - I can agree to a certain extent but I can't agree completely - and my philosophy really goes for everything for me - not just writing [yes] So what are you doing up so early? [glomp] |

and yep a japanese version. :3 the characters are older though. but i like it a lot better as it follows the manga storyline better. the viki website is extremely good for korean dramas, but when it comes to japanese and taiwanese dramas it kinda lacks a bit, especially if the drama is older. i use drama.net quite frequently because viki only allows licensed dramas on their website now. drama.net has all kinds of dramas and no ads, if you use adblockers. just be careful where you're clicking and always use adblocker with drama.net. lmk if you are interested in other mangas and such, i usually know if a manga has a live action.. cause i adore manga live action dramas. x3 |

I don't mind them being older - maybe it won't seem so "just out of high school"-ish! While I love the Taiwanese one - that can get to you a bit with the drama part - especially with Mei Ja and the Secretaries - they drive me bonkers sometimes xD; Other times their antics don't bother me - but sometimes it's just too childish for their supposed ages and ranks! Ooh - that's good to know!! If I have any trouble I'll have my brother install something - he uses a really good adblocker but I haven't had him install it on my new computer yet - just haven't had time where we were both free. If it gets to be an issue I'll definitely have him do it though - I don't need any viruses lol! Will do!! I'm so glad I found someone else who loves Dramas!! <3 |
