HELLO FRIENDS i am once again popping in to say a single comment maybe two and then running away because I told my roommate I'd help her move a bunch of stuff up and have homework to do and gosh dang i'm so busy why am I doing this to myself

But yes anyways so today. I found out that my very cool self defense teacher is also INCREDIBLY anti-muslim. Like. making "THEY'RE ALL EVIL AND TERRIBLE PEOPLE THERE'S NOT A GOOD PERSON AMONG THEM" comments before class, re: "my daughter believes and thinks the rational thing but I'm the Good Father and trying to make her hate and despise an entire people because it's The Right Thing and they are The Bad Guys" so. yeah he's definitely dropped down about a million rungs on my ladder. But I'm also not surprised? Because gung-ho American super military combat vet, so. Didn't 100% see it coming but I'm also not surprised b/c people like that are (sadly) often that type of person. :(

Captain America is also his favorite super hero and on one hand I know that doesn't have to color how I see or how much I love Captain America, but on the other hand it's like nO PLEASE Captain America would DESPISE his stance like how can he not see that

SUCKS especially since now I'm stuck in a class with him for an entire semester. ;_; Hahaha,,, I guess so long as he doesn't become terribly overbearing about it I'll just. keep my head down. If it does become super apparent though I'll report him to the school?? if that's a thing I can do?? Which I'm assuming it is because federally funded community college with A LOT of foreign transfer students. Argh I'm just so bummed!! I thought he was a cool dude. ;_;

And so it goes! The business should die down once I've settled into things. The first couple weeks are always the hardest.

Yeah, that really does blow. Is there a women's center or lgbtq center or ethnic student services or something you could maybe go to ask about what to do or talk it out if he keeps on? Diversity-based offices are often pretty good about helping students who want to say something to the administration about that stuff, even when it's not their lane! Even some chill faith-based groups might be helpful; I know at my uni we had a few that were aggressively pro-lgbtqaip rights and civil rights and gender equality and anti-religious discrimination of all kinds. (And of course a few that were not so chill, but...)

Getting stuck with stuff like that was the worst, though. My last semester I had a prof who was like, "Obama is trying to make the country a monarchy... but I don't want to get too political," so THAT set a nice tone for the class. Which I needed to graduate. And he went on to do stuff like... talk about how the school wasn't really international despite all the exchange students, which, hey, I'd agree with that statement, at least in the context he was describing. But then he asked if anyone was from outside the states and these two dudes were from Nigeria and he asked them if they were American citizens as well they said yes so he told them they weren't REALLY international students, then, all to prove his point and??? It was always like what are you TALKING ABOUT, DUDE.

Eeee, thanks, Rommy! <3 I saw some of the new EIs and was like "u kno who i should make. lathrine." so HERE I AM. Wish we had something a little more Big Cat-ish? Which we might, I haven't actually checked! And it's def. unfinished, but this is as far as I'm gonna get until I get some more gold/xp/items. (i might even switch over 2 her formal outfit b/c some of those EIs man. THEY'RE GIVIN' ME IDEAS)

I thiiiiiink we've got some stuff like that on campus! It's. Kinda of hard to find? Because my college is not actually all about letting people know they have support and can report these kinds of things. :x Like the disability office is easily accessed, which is good! But it is in the very back building on campus kinda shoved in a back hall. And everything else is just... yeah. We've got counselling and therapy available, but they're almost IMPOSSIBLE to find. I'll ask someone tomorrow, because I definitely wanna know where the office I might need is BEFORE somethin' happens and I need it.

oH GEEZE that professor sounds terrible!! D: I'm so sorry!! Geeze, I seriously don't understand people like that. Like, how can you?? be so blind to your own actions and so totally sure in yourself and your opinions?? if I had even HALF of that self confidence... I complain about my theatre professor/director a lot, but at least he's very good about stuff like that and incredible supportive of students. He's pro-LGBT rights, is always super careful to make sure his classes are a safe space, and if he ever asks someone to do something they aren't comfortable with he encourages us to speak up and let him know b/c he's more than willing to make accommodations. He's not my favorite as a person, but at least he's like. Decent. D:

Mmmm, gotta love when campuses provide resources to their students and then make them inaccessible and don't promote them. I hope he backs off saying awful things like that, and you won't need to turn to those offices at all. Puh-lease, powers that be, let this man be bearable and not an Islamophobic jerkwad for a semester!

Honestly in that class I stopped paying attention after day one. I screwed around on the internet, did my homework for other classes, read on the Kindle app on my laptop... I even stopped doing the reading after a few weeks because I was always like, "Disagree. Nope, hate that point. I've read this economist to death in anther class and I don't like him so, not gonna read that. Oh my god is this goon DEFENDING colonialism?" And given that it was my last semester, it was so. SO hard to care.
Regretted that immensely every time we had an exam and I had to spend the two days before cramming, and totally BSed all my papers, but I passed with an A, so! And I'm glad your theatre prof isn't 100% a butt!

Moonlit- We all have times like that, and they're no fun, and I'm sure bed rest and pregnancy and such doesn't make them easier.
That is a plus! Time is really flying.

Oh being massively full term pregnant and on bed rest isn't helping - that's for sure.
