Once upon a time several years ago, Lathrine and I had a hangout thread here on Mene, but then we both drifted off from the site. Now we're back!
Feel free to come join us to chat about your day, your favorite books and video games, pets, OCs, whatever.
I might spruce up this intro post at later date, but for now, ta-dah!

It's ok, I was just hoping I wasn't messing up your first page posts.
Thank you! I love the color green - and I also rarely have the energy to change it up so this has been my avatar for months now. I love your avatar too! :D
How are you doing tonight?

Why change your avatar when you've got a beautiful green otherwordly princess look going on, anyway? And thank you!
I'm doing pretty good! It's been a nice, relaxing night. But I'm probably heading to bed soon. It's already one am and I have to meet my dad in six hours. How about you?

Exactly! It takes too much work to find another avatar that I like as much as this one! You're welcome!
That's good! Yay for nice relaxing nights!! :D Oh wow! Yeah, go to sleep!!
It's only like 10 pm here, but I need to make myself get my preggo self up off the couch and actually go to bed. But I'm actually comfy for once!! But I'll get up eventually. haha! Either that or be carried to bed by my hubby. Hmmm. lol!

10 pm is my goal bed time and I always fail. Hopefully you're able to get to bed soon, whether you get up or are carried, haha!
Congrats on your pregnancy btw! That's so exciting. Is this your first baby?
Aaand I'm actually gonna take your advice and get my butt to sleep so I'm not a total zombie tomorrow. It was lovely to (briefly) meet you and hopefully we'll be seeing you around here some more. :) Sleep well.

I totally know how that is! Most nights I will go to bed, but I can never get comfy - so I just move around trying not to accidentally keep my hubby awake. Thanks, I hope so too. Now to find the motivation to get up.
Thank you!! She's my second, but first with my hubby (I do consider him the daddy to my oldest, but he's her daddy by adoption - long story there). I'm 35 weeks pregnant - it just hit me today that she'll be here in roughly 5 weeks, give or take!! O.o
Alright!! Sleep well!! <3 I should be around more, in theory - we'll see if it happens - now that my sister in law has my toddler more to help me out in this last month. :] Sweet dreams!

AW MAN I was so busy, I missed Rommy! Alas, I'll catch her in the morning.
Hello hello, all- esp. Moonlit, if she's still around! And congrats on the baby, that's super exciting! Especially since she's so close, oh my gosh.

Thanks!! :D Yeah!! We can't wait to meet her and we're praying that this won't throw Norah, my oldest, off too badly. We're doing all we can to try to get her ready for her little sister. :)
How're you doing?

Ooof, yeah, it always throws things for a loop when a new kid joins the family. Especially for the little ones already present. I'm sure you guys are gonna handle it great, especially if you're already preparing your other daughter! That's definitely gonna make things easier for her. c:
I'm doing pretty good! A little tired, so I should probably get goin' to bed myself before it gets too late. Last thing I wanna do is get myself on a bad sleep schedule right before school starts. Just kinda futzing around and playing some vidya games right now.

Yeah - my girls will be about 2 1/2 years apart in age, roughly. But we're doing our best to get the older one ready for the baby's arrival! =] We'll see how the prep has gone once she gets here. :P
That's good to hear! What time is it for you? Oh I remember doing that - trying to keep sleep schedules good and not throw them too off before the insanity of the semester starts. I probably should try to sleep - it's inching up on midnight here.

YEP, that's gonna be the real tell-- how the elder handles it when the baby arrives. Hopefully she takes it well. :D Good luck! Sounds like you and your hubby are gonna have your hands full!
It's 11:50pm, so just about midnight. Plenty late enough that I should be reasonable and go to bed, but just early enough that I'm certainly not going to do any such thing. :P Ah well, so long as I wake up in time for my first class, that's all that really matters! I don't have a lot of difficulty adjusting my sleep schedule once I have an actual schedule to go off, instead of summer time haziness.

Oh we are! O.o And to top it off, Our toddler is determined to convince us to get her a puppy. Like she NEEDS one! Nope, not giving in. lol!
I know how that goes! What time is your first class? That's good that you are good at being able to adjust it once you have some thing to actually adjust it for. :] That's handy. I should go to bed as I'll be up early-ish with Norah before my Sister comes over to get her for the day. :] But I'm enjoying having online time!

Ahaha~! Norah's a child after my own heart! I've been told that when my parents told me I was going to have a little sibling and "do you want a little brother or a little sister?" I demanded a puppy instead. :'D As much as my inner child wants me to vote for the puppy, you're absolutely right not to give in-- it'd be waaaay too much work to juggle both a puppy AND a newborn! Puppies are best saved for when things aren't so hectic, anyways.
Oh geeze, I wanna say my first class of the week iss.... 10 or 11am, but I don't remember right off. But I've got a twice weekly class that starts at 8/9am, so I really can't let myself get on a bad schedule during the school year. :P At least it's only yoga. I'm spacing out hardcore, so I forgot to ask-- what'd you study when you were in college? And awww, yeah, that's a good reason to get some sleep! But online time sounds like it's gonna be precious hard for you to come by, so I don't blame you for savoring it while you can. I take it your sister's babysitting her for the day?

OH she's been after a puppy for months now because my brother got a puppy and she fell in love with her. Puppy, newborn, and a 2 1/2 year old. O.o Maybe later when Norah's a bit older and life isn't so insane! Because it'd fall on me, the care of the puppy, as my hubby works. Soooo yeah, we're waiting. She can play with her uncle's dog for now. :P
Oh not too bad! I studied Early Childhood Education when I went to college. :] Not that I'm doing much in terms of work with it but it does help with the kiddos! :D And free time to get online is rare for me these days so I grab it up whenever I can! And yep, she is! :) She's been taking her most days during the week - huge help to me! <3 Technically she's my brother's wife but I've known her for so long she's basically my sister. :)
Edit: Given that it is after midnight and I do have to get up somewhat early, I probably should head off! Night!! I'll try to be back on tomorrow at some time. :]

YEP for the time being, uncle's doggy can be her best friend. All the love and fun of having a dog, none of the actual work and stress involved with caring for one when you're so gosh darn busy right now. :D That's been my staying power; I really want a dog, but I can't afford one right now and even if i could, I'd feel bad dumping it on my parents when I leave for school. Campus dorms are not pet friendly, alas, unless that pet is a fish. :( But I have a lot of family in the area, and one of them have a year old puppy, so. :P
Ooooooo, oh very cool! :D Oh man, good on you! I know a couple other people with similar degrees, and that's just the coolest stuff. I just do not have the personality to work with kids like that, and it's awesome that you do! It really would help with the kids, aw man. :'D And that's super sweet of your sister! It's definitely gonna be a huge help, what with how full your hands are and how busy you are right now. Family like that's the best-- the people who might as well be your sister/brother/aunt/uncle etc, even though they aren't technically.
Oop, off to bed with you! Go get some sleep, and good night! I hope to see you around tomorrow! :D

It's a good thing I went to bed when I did because guess who turned off her 6:00 am alarm as soon as it went off, slept through her 6:45 one and finally woke up to her 7:00 a.m. 'just in case' alarm and had to scramble to get ready to meet her dad at 7:10? THIS GAL
@Moonlit- If you stop by and see this: eeeeee, five weeks left!? That's so exciting! And I also really hope Norah adjusts quickly and loves her new baby sister. Also, Norah is a lovely name and I adore the spelling you used. Have you decided on a name for the new baby?
Also, I have to second the good call on no puppies for now conversation. Our 'puppy' is two now and he is STILL a handful (since goldens are technically puppies until they're around three) but he was even WORSE a year ago. I adore him, but the terrors and trials of puppies are still fresh in my mind. I'll hopefully be getting my own dog in the next year provided I find an apartment that will allow one and a job that can afford one, and I'm definitely going for an older dog who has mellowed out some. But puppies with older kids who will play with them and wear them out every day is a winning combination!
@Lathrine- YOU ARE TAKING YOGA YES I hope your instructor is really cool and nice! Have you done yoga before? I used to do it and also general stretching a lot before I fell of the fitness train (as I do every 6 months or so.) Now I'm trying to get back into it and I lost all my flexibility and it's just... yikes. Even doing my favorite poses kind of hurts.
Also WHAT KIND OF PUPPY DO THEY HAVE HAVE U MET IT BEFORE IT IT CUTE (of course it is)

Lathrine: Yep, makes it easier - in theory - on all of us. Although she comes home every day begging for her own dog, so this may not be the smartest idea but they watch her for free, and who can argue with free. Awww, yeah - they are quite determined to keep no pets in the dorms on college campuses that's for sure. I did have one roommate who had a fish - but only that one time.
Yeah, I used to be a nanny (before I got pregnant with Norah) and it helped with that too! She and my brother got married when she was 20, my brother was 21 (I was 13, and I'm now 27 - and Matt (brother) is 35 (his wife is 34). ) So I've known her for years and years. I agree with you, they are the best! <3
I hope that you slept well when you got there yourself! :D
Iltu: Oh wow!! I've done that before. Gah! Rushing is never any fun. Did you manage to make it out the door on time???
Yeah!! Only 5 weeks left! She's due September 17th. Me with the massive Belly that I'm sure will just get bigger. Thank you! Her name holds a lot of meaning to me because of what she helped me get out of - a really bad abusive relationship. She gave me the strength to get out. The Definition of Norah that jumped out at me is that it means 'light' and she was the light that helped me get out, that I followed to leave him. We've not yet decided on a name for her - we're not so slowly slowly running out of time!
Yeah - she just loves to beg us daily it feels like to get her a puppy. Hopefully it works out or you! Yeah, that's true it's more that I know the dog will fall on me to take care of and a 2 1/2 year old, a newborn and a dog... O.o That sounds exhsusting to me, even just thinking about it.

Yes, luckily all I had to do was throw on some clothes and let the dogs out and be on my way! And he was a few minutes lat himself, so that helped.
Aw, you look so happy and lovely in that picture! And your outfit is really cute, I love the scarf and sunglasses.
Oh wow, that just makes the name even more beautiful! I'm really sorry you had to go through such a terrible thing, and I'm glad you were able to get out of that relationship, and get to a much better place. That takes a lot of courage.
Sometimes, names don't click until you see the baby! Any ideas you've been kicking around, or are you still completely unsure?
It sounds exhausting to me, too! Definitely way too much work to have puppies and little ones all running about at once. My poor parents got a puppy right before they found out I was on the way... not a good time for them, haha!
What are you up to today?

That's good! And it helps when it's not just you running a bit late so that's good. Did you have a good visit? :]
Thank you! :] I normally wouldn't wear a scarf mid summer but Norah insisted! Pushy toddler!! Lol.
I'm just glad I was able to get away from him and get him to sign his rights away so he has no say at all with her because he made it very clear that he wanted nothing to do with her, or with me when he found out that I was expecting.
My husband is the complete opposite of my ex and he is now legally Norah's father (he's adopted her so his name is now legally on her birth certificate) and he's the best daddy ever. <3 We lucked out with Danny, he's a wonderful man.
We have a few names as possibilities, but it's a matter of agreeing on one - but that's so true. I was thankful that Norah fit her name. <3
Yeah - we have our hands full enough with Norah and the little one on the way! Awww, yeah - not good timing there, but hey - it worked out at least! :) What kind of dog was it?
Not much planned for today - just a lot of lounging about, being lazy and ignoring chores. How about yourself?

We did! I'm living at home for a while until I can find a job since I just graduated college and my apartment lease was up, but I spend most of my time at my mom's house. And even when I go to his house, he's often working or out of town, so it's nice to actually see one another and get coffee.
She has fine, fashionable tastes!
Ugh, he sounds awful! I'm glad he doesn't get any rights with Norah though, and that she's got a good dad in her life, too! She's a lucky gal to have such great parents. :)
I hope you and your husband come to an agreement on a name! That can be a difficult process for sure.
She was a border collie/Finnish spitz mix, so basically the most high maintenance dog my mom could have possibly gotten, haha. And what's worse is that my dad didn't actually want her to get a dog. But they ended up getting ANOTHER dog before I was born, but after they knew I was coming, so? All's well that ends well, I guess! What sort of dog did your brother get?
Sounds like an ideal day! I've mostly been working on my job hunt (got some promising leads, so I'm crossing my fingers!) today, and I've got to finish up some chores and finish my workout. :gonk: Nothing terribly exciting.

I'm glad that it worked out for you! :D
I wish that I could go spend time with my parents - they basically have been ignoring me for over a year now. :(
She does! Just not appreciated in the middle of summer.
He was awful! And I'm still going to therapy to try to get over what he did to me. I wasn't even looking for someone when I met Daniel.
I'm sure that we can! :] We do have a bit more time to at least find a few that we can agree on.
Oh wow! haha! Sounds like a handful! My brother got a Corgie. :] Norah calls her 'My buddy buddy" and crawls around on the ground with her. So cute!
It really is a lovely day, quiet - unusually quiet but it's quite nice.
Oh good luck with the job hunt! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too! :D

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry to hear that! :( *hugs* That must be hard.
People who are able to do that sort of thing to others really are scum. Though no recovery journey is easy, I hope yours has had more ups than downs.
Corgis are just the cutest! Watching the play must be so darling, it sounds adorable! Is the corgi still a puppy, or a little more grown now?
Quiet days are honestly what I miss most about living alone! Love my family, and it's nice to be around dogs and cats again, but peace is sorely missed. Not that I lived in a quiet area, but outside background noise is easier to tune out.
