I would just think that there'd be either no religious influenced food in school, or other options would be offered. I don't know if most of the children in daycare are Christian, but now that I think about it, it's a YMCA childcare, which was founded on Christian values, so that could be why they were given fish on Fridays. |
I think fish is healthier anyway, than say red meat or fatty fried foods.

I don't eat fish, myself, but I know it has a lot more benefits than red meat and those fried foods. It's usually hard to get children to eat fish, and the only reason I don't like them serving fish at daycare is because it smells putrid. But at daycare the children really like the fish, but then, they do coat it in breadcrumbs and fry it up pretty good. |
Ah I remember the fish at school, well elementary school, was covered in breadcrumbs and cheese. It was delicious <3 but then again I love fish in general. I also eat fish with bones in it and such

I've had fish with bones in it before but that was when I was very little and my dad would freak out any time it looked like I was about to eat a bone. I grew up eating fish at home most of the time because my dad lived near the sea and my mom's family is from New Orleans so we ate a lot of shrimp, a lot of crab, a lot of lobster a lot of fish in general. My grandmother even used to come visit and she'd make fish. All the time. Fish is very tasty, sometimes I miss it. |
I love me a good ol steamed tilapia with peppers and red onions, but there's an art to eating the flesh without forking the little bones into your mouth, so I don't have it that often. I prefer lazy foods which I can just shovel and chew ��

Well filet just means how they cut it. Filet is when they cut it purposely without the bones
