They're not in an anime, though it's easy to think that from the way the fandom talks about them, I agree. They make songs. There are Vocaloids video games, the kind where you hit notes in time with songs. I haz one. [squee] There's also a Vocaloid program for you to make your own songs in Japanese with their voices, but only unicorns own that.

Vocaloids is like... these digital singers and they make songs and do covers and shit.
I have only heard a few of their songs, mostly Hastune Miku's stuff and the blonde boy's stuff too, but they sound creepy as fuck! |
