And if you need someone to keep you accountable, we're always here. :)

for now I am just not going to do it at all and just work
hard on studying my fundamentals and commissions.[sweat]

With my art I am at a place where I can't even finish anything
other than studies or commissions so I should just work hard
on improving and not worrying too much about these challenges.

@ Shion: I think I would worry about the elastic getting shot. Same thing with stockings, they never last more than a few years before they get all loose and weird.

@ Moody: It's like that for most disciplines, but especially art. It's no surprise that in undergrad you spend 2-3 years just learning theory and fundamentals. It's hard to make something you personally enjoy just based on that, but one day things will just click. I know I haven't practiced the guitar as much as I would have liked, and I think a lot of that stems from the fact that the stuff I'm supposed to be practicing is more work than fun.
But as long as you're improving, it's all good. :D

More like 10 years for fundamentals overall. [gonk]
But I don't feel I am improving but I probably am and just have yet to notice [sweat]
I planned out all of my studies. I mostly want to do portraits
but trying to focus on different things too on the face individually and
as a whole.

I am also looking for reference for landscapes to study as well.
So much to study but not enough focus or energy. [squee]

I also applied for a job in hopes I get it and can soon afford a smaller tablet.
It gets to be pretty difficult using mine as it's quite large
and haven't found a real good confortable use when using my tablet.
So I kinda always feel cramped.

[oops] Thank you Facade for the donation *blush*

Maybe if you compared some more recent works with earlier ones then you will notice the improvement?

I agree, it's difficult to get much done after a long day of work or school (or both), lol.
Having a job is good though, it gives a little bit more structure, and sometimes structure makes it easier to stay productive..

I am going to pass out for a few hours. 1 final down, 3 more to go.

@ Tai: Lol, you're welcome! (not facade)

tbh I don't have old works.
Like all of them are and have never been finished. [sweat]
think right now my only focus is to just study so holding off a lot of the projects i want to start
and finish cause i just need to seriously focus on these fundamental studies.

I am nervous and expecting an email from where I applied
so hopefully it'll happen soon.

@Risque: Sometimes the elastic wears out. It's rare to see 2nd hand pieces with the elastic completely worn. I see it more with the dresses that have elastic in the straps and they are hung by the straps for a long time. But it's a relatively simple repair.

Though at my size, I stretch the elastic out a lot and it's really sad. The armholes on some of my dresses (one-pieces, they're called) are kinda stretched. So if I want to resell, I'll probably have to go in with a seam ripper and replace the elastic.

lol sounds like you just gotta sit your butt down and go hard.

@ Shion: as you said though, easy-ish fix and the secondhand market is doing well. Must be nice to have a sustainable hobby..

Two more days of finals and I'll be free... @[email protected]

Kinda why i am doing studies only right now.
as I need to study and do practices on different things.
but i only have a small window for art which is only 2 ish hours.

Welp, new goal...apply to grad school.
I don't really WANT to, but I feel like I have to, so here we are.

TaiyoTsuki 07-11-2019 08:07 AM

Oh how much I wish I was in grad school right now [XD]

Really? Why's that?
I'd so much rather be working, haha.

TaiyoTsuki 07-21-2019 04:29 AM

If I was in grad school, it means I'd have been able to afford to finish school in the first place [gonk]
